    bought on sale. the remote is a bit on the cheap side and my daughter does not like the light on the bottom of the tv. it keeps her up

    The TV was always hard to turn on using the remote. You had to point it just right to get it to work. It kept getting harder and harder to turn it on then it just finally quit. No way to turn it on with remote or the buttons on the set. Until it died I was pretty happy with it. It should have lasted more than a year even if it wasnt a top of the line unit.

    The Tv is okay for the price which they offer. The colors are little bit odd. Too much contrast even after setting it to minimum.

      There are options available to adjust the picture settings to better fit your personal preference. You can access the Options menu on the TV by pressing the asterisk (*) button on your remote while watching content. Additionally, you can access expert picture settings by downloading the free Roku mobile app on a smartphone or tablet. The Roku mobile app works as a remote and allows you to access additional features like voice search, private listening, advanced picture settings, and more. Hope this helps & happy viewing!

    Bought because it’s depth would fit on mantle but the tv always forcing input selection at each startup is beyond not annoying

      Hi GeauxBlue,

      You can actually program the TV to power on to a specific input. Here are steps to accomplish this. Please go to the following: Settings>System>Power>Power On>choose which input you would like your TV to power on to. Also, here is a link with more information.     I wanted a Westinghouse 4K tv, but it was lost during delivery by FedEx. This TV is oK. My Westinghouse 1080 tv has a picture just as good.

    We loved this tv right up until it died. It lasted 2 years and 4 months, which seems pretty lame. I have tried all of the tricks to get it back on. Just know it probably won’t last up to 10 years like many descriptions will tell you. Buy the extended warranty if you purchase this television.

    I was really excited about this product but it's really let me down. Any content on the screen has distorted lines constantly running up the display. It doesn't matter what input, what setting, i've reset the TV several times.Followed all troubleshooting instruction but the image still flickers. Aside from that the default color settings leaves everything looking washed out and pail.

    I purchased this T.V. to save myself a bit of money. I've always owned LG's in the past and never had an issue. Right after the return window passed, the tv started making this high pitched, low volume hum while turned on. It's enough to drive someone crazy. I contacted TCL and was hoping they would send a replacement and let me send this one back to them. They wouldn't accept. They suggested I return to Best Buy even though I already told them it was past the return window. They say they will only replace the tv if it's unrepairable. Clearly I got a lemon. I'd rather have a brand new TV than one opened up and "repaired" after owning for three weeks. Very frustrating. Lesson learned. Will never purchase from this company again.

    Its a decent tv. The only downside to it is the banding you see during bright white scenes.

    I wanted to like this TV. It looked so good on the floor at Best Buy. And it looks good at home, too! The picture is great. That said, after having owned it for a few months now, there are a few issues with it that drive me crazy. The main problem is the wifi. Once it's connected, I've had basically no problems with it. It's never been slow or buggy or disconnected or anything. The problem is with the wifi making the initial connection after turning on or being woken from sleep. About 20% of the time, the wifi doesn't connect, and I can either reboot the TV, or go through the wireless setup menu and it will always connect after that. I've used the default cable modem wifi and an internal LAN wifi (Archer AC1750), been on the phone with TCL customer support for hours trying to fix it, and they even sent someone out to replace a bunch of parts in the TV - the wifi still fails to connect 100% of the time. The speakers suck. Like, they're bad. I live in an apartment with shared walls and don't want or need a stereo system, but I ended up buying a receiver and speakers because the speakers on this TV were so bad. You have to point the remote directly at the TV or it doesn't work. From time to time, I'll select some app (like Netflix) through the ROKU home screen menu, select a TV show, and hit play, then the TV glitches out and sends me back to the ROKU home screen menu.
