Hi Voltron4209,
We're glad that you are enjoying your TV. I'm not quite sure what speed you are referring to. If streaming, you can try to check your internet speed. Each streaming challenge typically has their own recommendation, but in general to stream 4k content effectively you’ll need 25 mbps. The number of users on your network can impact the speed as well. Lastly, in some areas, ISP’s will throttle down speed at different times of the day, so it is important to check the speed while the problem is happening. In reference to the sound, while most of our customers do report good audio on their TVs, we do realize that some people want a more immersive theater experience. Some customers elect to add additional external speakers to their TV to create that immersive experience. We hope you continue to enjoy your TV!
Thank you,

Terrible color bleeding! Bought by protection plan, but was told nothing could be done and in future consider buying Samsung or LG with higher price and better specs. Will never buy another TCL.

I love the picture, the ease of set up, the price, the built in Roku, the sound...with one exception: the sound seems to come out of the back of the unit, and don't want to disturb my neighbors, so to have it loud as I would like it, it's extremely loud behind it (if this makes sense). Have I got something set up wrong? If this could be fixed it would be 5 stars for sure.

Our price range was under $400.00 when comparing the Vizio Sharp & TCL. ALL THREE COMING IN AT $359.
The Vizio and Sharp are 42” 4K and have less options for hook ups on the back panel and neither has Roku built in. The TLC IS 49” 4K with hdmi optical for sound and standard red white & yellow jacks for old school hook ups.
The picture is great - better then our other 1080 LG. Upscaling really works. Sound is no big deal but we have surround sound. Very happy. And st $359. Were very pleased. The 1,000.00 dollar and up TVs are nice for sure, but out of reach. Being able to have the latest technology even if its just above entity level is really awesome. Two thumbs up.

My four year old Vizio TV died and I needed to replace it quickly. I did a little research and had settled on a mid-range Samsung TV. When I went into the store, I spotted this TV for about $200 less. The Samsung was brighter and had a few more features, but I was attracted to the Roku interface. After discussing it with the salesperson, I opted for this TV. I haven't been sorry.
Pros:
*The TV turns on to the Roku interface. It makes it incredibly easy to switch between our Nintendo Switch, Tivo, DVD player, and AppleTV. This is a game changer for my family.
*The Roku apps themselves are easily available. They seem to work well.
*Picture is beautiful. It may not be true HDR, but for our purposes, it is good enough.
*Remote is easy to deal with.
Cons
*Doesn't play nice with TiVo remote (not a big deal as we view live/recorded tv less and less (can't turn the tv on/off, control the volume with the Tivo remote).
*Compared the Amazon app on the Roku with the one on the AppleTV. Roku app seemed to have trouble streaming a true 4K HDR show (Blue Planet 2) where AppleTV on same connection did not.
*One additional HDMI input would be nice.
We came from a mid-range Vizio purchased 4 years ago. We had no complaints with it, aside from some fussiness when trying to change inputs. The roku interface on this is truly something my family is happy with. As long as you don't object to needing to chose what you're going to watch (rather than just flipping the tv on to a channel), this is going to be the TV for you.
Given that this tv is going to be used and abused by my seven year old, and my wife has a visual impairment that makes it difficult for her to see small interfaces - this tv is perfect. It's at an excellent price point with a good interface and a solid picture. Highly recommend.

Fantastic 4K HDR TV

If you hate reading long reviews this one is to the point.
I absolutely love the Roku interface and despite what you may read it DOES HAVE A TUNER BUILT IN. I calibrated the TV as per the instructions online and it looks fantastic (you need the Roku App use the advanced settings). I felt the factory setting were a tad bit to brite for my liking and the new settings smoothed it out very nicely. My connectivity (wireless) to the internet has NEVER FAILED and works perfectly. The setup was painless and it updated the software as soon as I connected.
I use the TV every single day and have never encountered any issues whatsoever. I will admit, some reviewers are not happy with the slight darkness in the corners when you are on a white screen and they are there....but I don't stare at white screens all day...just saying. For the money you cannot go wrong, I just didn't want to pay twice as much for a Sony and will never purchase another Samsung after my last one died and the Samsung CS was no help.
Buy it...you will not regret it....

Replacing a Samsung LCD
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Bought this TV to replace a 9+ year old 46" Samsung LCD(cost $2000 when new).
I researched every brand TV and didn't want to pay over $500 and didn't want another Samsung(had repair issues). I shopped both online and locally and Best Buy had at least the same price, plus if I didn't like it I could always take it back and exchange. I narrowed my choices down to TCL and Hisense because they were the most affordable brands.
The TCL had great reviews(although there is always someone who posts a review as a disaster).
I was hesitant about buying a 4K because I have read that there isn't a lot of 4K broadcast out there. But I will be ready when there is.
The only thing that I am not a fan of is when you turn the tv/direct tv on it doesn't go directly to the channel. The Roku menu displays and then you can select "Satellite" to watch TV. There may be a way to change this. The TCL has lots of optional adjustments.
I have yet to use the Roku streaming features.
For the price I believe I will enjoy my new TV.
