possible security threat

A week after I purchased I finally got it mounted on the wall The next day a 55" model was on sale for 40 dollars cheaper. It is upsetting. i did not want to remove it and return. A week later i saw a news report about a security threat warning, that there is a backdoor that can be accessed without my permission. I have not been using the internet function until i figure this out.

TV on a budget

And started noticing hacking vulnerabilities in the TCL Android product. Thanks to Best Buy's extended return policy, I plan to return this. No more China junk. Time for Samsung, Panasonic or something else.

Cheap tv. Wish the wifi connected normally

Most annoying this is when WiFi drops and stops working ten minutes in. You have to hold the power button on the controller to reset the tv for the signal to start working again. Very annoying. Would not recommend this tv, I barely watch it on my bedroom just because I know it will have issues when trying to watch a show or movie

Just Ok

Thought this would’ve had it automatically built in. Needed a Roku to stream my cable, which doesn’t work for Android tv’s. The picture is pretty, paid much more than what is worth since I had to shell out another 60 for the Roku device.

I hated the Android platform. The TV was great, nice picture, but the Android platform needs work. It was not as user friendly, certain apps weren't able to be downloaded, and the casting was either glitchy or non-existent. I bought a Roku TV.

Won't connect to PC on HTMI

I've tried all sorts of things, the closest I get is when I turn on the TV and select the HTMI port, and then power up my PC I get a colorful flash on the screen, then a black screen, and then back to the display that says "No Signal". Please check the input connection. I have connected this PC to 3 other TCL TV's that are Roku enable. So it's not the PC, and I've been pretty happy with those TVs. I'll also add that it wouldn't connect to my android smartphone when trying to do the setup. It said something about not working on certain types of WiFi networks - mine is a Netgear Orbi mesh network. But it does otherwise work on WiFi okay. If you didn't want to connect a PC to this TV, it might be okay. But if you want to do gaming, or work, avoid this. Probably it's just a software issue - but I'm unhappy because I wasted a lot of time and it seems like this is the kind of thing that shouldn't make it out of QA.
