    Status light blinks incessantly

    The white status light LED at the bottom of the screen keeps blinking an internet connection warning when I'm trying to watch, even things that don't require internet, and it is so incredibly annoying. Imagine trying to watch a movie at the theater with someone smack dab in middle of the front row taking a flash photo every second. That's what it feels like. The kicker is my wifi is perfectly fine and there are no issues with streaming at all. Can't cover the light up either because then the remote stops working. The only way out is to completely disable the smart features, which is ridiculous. I see no point in this "feature", because if there's an issue with my internet affecting my watching experience, I'd notice it. And if I didn't, why the heck is the TV complaining when I'm not? Other minor annoyances include buggy screensavers, ads on the channel selection screen, and prominent, ugly buttons on the remote for apps I don't even use. Still deciding whether I want to return this, but just going by the poor design choices I don't think I will be buying a Roku or TCL product ever again.

    WORST Company EVER. 3-4 months in and horizontal lines occured. Then went completely black. The company refused to honor 1 year warranty !!!!

    Back Light Gave Out

    I bought this TV about 15 months ago and everything was working fine. Actually was impressed with the picture for the cheap price I got it for. I had it working in the morning then came back after work and the screen was dark but the sound was still playing. Closer review with a flashlight close up to it you could see a faint picture of the main menu. Tried restarting it to factory settings and a multitude of other things to fix it but finally came to the realization that the TV needs to be completely taken a part to fix the back light. The repair will cost more than the TV was initially priced at. Second TCL TV that crapped out on me. Find another brand to purchase.

    Beware of a "flaw"

    Beware that this TV is designed such that it never REALLY turns off unless you unplug it from the wall. This is not a bother when the TV is installed anywhere else but your bedroom. When we turn it off to go to sleep, we wake up later to find it ever so slightly glowing like big brother is watching. It's annoying to see a 50' black panel glowing in an otherwise dark room. This is my second one (returned the first thinking it was broken) and it does the same as the other. It's a shame because we really like everything else about it!

      Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. The glowing you have described seems rather odd as when you turn off the TV, the panel will also turn off. You may want to turn off the Standby LED located at the center bottom of the TV, if this is the glowing you are referring to. To turn this off you would want to go to Home>Settings>System>Standby LED>OFF.     Horrible Picture, Poor Sound

    We are in no way TV snobs. We just upgraded from a 32 inch TV that was so old it didn't even have a digital tuner. I expected to be blown away with this TV's UHD picture, especially considering the great reviews; unfortunately, it's worse than our old TV. The picture is pixelated and grainy and the viewing angle is awful! You have to be directly in front of the TV or the color is horribly washed out (think people looking like ghosts and everything grayed out). It's to the point that I would rather just shut it off than have to look at it another second. Then there is the sound, which is extremely muffled. I prefer to have a quite TV since my kids turn it up way too loud usually, but the sound is bad, not just quite. Finally there are no external controls on the TV so I can't turn it off or control volume by pushing a button on the TV (something I was doing quite often when my kids were watching). Now, I have to find the tiny remote or access the app on my phone to do it. Oh, and the x-rated ads ROKU displays are extremely inappropriate. The only positives: it's very light and energy efficient. I am dreading having to have this TV for as many years we hoped it would last.

    a blue line appeared on the screen 2 months after having it. i kept it anyway, 1 year and 10 months later. Screen is completely black with only the sound

    Cheap TV

    I’ve had this TV for about 10 months now and it has been nothing but problems. It has a horrible time staying connected to wifi (never have problems with any other devices). It also can barely function right. At least once a moth when I turn it on and open Netflix it will just stop responding and I have to restart it. The audio is also awful and you can’t distinguish dialogue with background noises.

    Speakers don't work after 1 year...

    All was good but now I'm out of warranty and the speakers no longer work. Tried hooking up another speaker but it also doesn't work. Sales rep talked us into this purchase...we were set to buy an RCA. Wish we would've stuck with the original plan. :(

    Don't waste your money.

    TV not even a year old. While watching it last night it made a popping sound, shut down and will not turn back on. Tried unplugging, etc. Nothing helps. Don't waste your money.
