Great TV for the money! Light, quality picture, easy to use! If I had one complaint it would be that the ROKU remote that comes with the tv set needs to be remodelled for big hands & fingers...I can't hang with the measly remote...constanty ly pushing the wrong buttons by accident and mute & volume buttons on the side of the remote is the dumbest thing I have seen yet!

Bought this TV to replace an older TV in our family room. I have several other Roku TVs, so the interface and setup was familiar to me. Setup was very quick and easy. They really did a nice job of making each step easy to quickly understand and I had it fully configured in a few minutes. There are plenty of ports and I was able to connect a Samsung soundbar via HDMI ARC and the TV instantly recognized it and set it up correctly without any intervention on my part. So far I feel the picture quality is great for a TV in this price range. I am a believer in you get what you pay for, but in this case, I had a hard time telling the difference between this screen and others costing hundreds more. The TV is relatively light and easy to move into place. I really like the narrow bezel around the screen. It gives it a very sleek look. I am very pleased with this TV so far and I am glad I chose it over others costing more!

This tv has a great picture. Love the voice assistance. Love that it supports one of my favorite apps Faithlife TV. The only thing I don’t like is the remote control but I knew that when I bought the tv. This tv has a nice assortment of apps which makes it a great smart tv. It was very easy to setup my streaming services.

Here's my main complaint to get the best out of this TV you'll need to mess with some of settings (which isn't too hard since it uses Roku) and a side complaint for me would be the "standby" light being too bright. But beside those two minor things it's a great TV for the price and features (50" 4K Smart Tv with 120hz at $300) it can't be beat.

I love this tv! The picture is crisp and sharp. The hdr is great on every streaming app that supports it. I love the roku smart features. It is great for gaming with xbox one x. The only con is the finish on the screen is very glossy and shows a lot of glare.

The picture on this TV is incredible. The colors are super vibrant. The downside to the remote is that it is a bit small if you have larger hands and we dislike the volume button on the side. The legs are very streamlined but could be set in a bit more. The price point is affordable.

    Dolby Vision Makes the Difference!

We wanted a 4K TV for our small living room (the basement home theater is where the big TV goes) and after some research, I came to the conclusion that Dolby Vision is where it’s at, and the TCL 5 and 6 series were the only options in our budget. The 5 Series is the only display with Dolby Vision at 50” and after six months of watching this, we are not disappointed at all. Great color, clarity and contrast. This is a streaming only TV for us, and the included Roku software is spectacular. I have found that its not quite as customizable as other TVs I’ve had, in terms of calibration. I have a sound bar connected through HDMI Arc and I can’t seem to access many settings for it either, but those are minor complaints. The living room TV used to be the “back up” TV, but the Dolby Vision and great picture has made this our most watched TV. I’m looking forward to hopefully being able to get a bigger 6 Series display for the basement home theater soon.

This is a good ROKU TV. the picture and the colors are excellent. Sound not so good unless you turn the volume high. But this is the problem with all TVs because the speakers are in the back. I have a 60" Sony that I bought in November that cost me 6 times as much, and it's not much better. The ROKU system allows you to quickly have access to many streaming possibilities. I do have Netflix and Prime, enough for me. If you would like an excellent TV for a good price, you can find anything better today. The remote control is a little too small, but I can live with it. Not a big deal.

Magnificent picture, 50 inch Smart TV! Easy to set up. Streams Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, everything. I can’t imagine spending $1000 for another brand name. For the price, if it works for 4-5 years it’s well worth it. Highly recommend the TCL.

TCL TVs are a fantastic value with a fantastic feature set. Roku is a great platform and the TV has a great picture. This one was for the momunit to replace one she decided to lay on it's glass and destroy instead of ask for help. I suggested it because we have the 55" series 6 in the bedroom and love it. After some getting used to, she seems to be liking it. Not without some complaining mind you. So, it will take some getting used to if you have only had a "dumb" TV previously.

I do not purchase anything before thoroughly researching all my options online first. When it comes to a/v equipment however, i have to add the 'hands-on' factor to my research as well because no one else can tell me what my eyes and ears will experience. I pitted this television up against 12 other sets, 5 other brand names, all of which were more expensive than this one, and some even had less features. I've never used the Roku software before, but after 2 - 3 days, it was like second nature. The picture quality is fantastic. Sound is surprisingly good for such a slim set. I was really skeptical of the 4k and hdr capabilities, like it was too good to be true. Well, I've had the TV over a month now and I'm looking at a different size for the basement.

Paired this with a TCL sound bar and wireless subwoofer. Very happy with the simplicity of the tv interface. Built in Roku is great to have for adding new services and accessing them easily too. Picture quality is nice.

Great quality. Fabulous picture. Easy set up. Only negative is if you're signing into multiple streaming accounts you can only do it through the remote. Not through your phone or computer. Just takes a while.

We like the first one we purchased from BB for the spare room so much we purchased a second Series 5 TCL 50”, this one for our bedroom. We really like the Roku OS and the seemingly endless apps Roku provides. The Dolby Vision looks great as well as HDR10, slight edge to the Dolby. Pretty decent sound for a TV at this price point as well. And the engineers at TCL are smart enough to allow the owner to turn the power button status light permanently off. That sucker is bright enough to guide a jetliner in. Time will tell how long it lasts but my money is on this TCL over some crappy over priced Samsung. I would suggest this Tv as a secondary to anyone. Go LG OLED as a primary though ;-)

First time TCL buyer. Was impressed with picture and simple wizard approach to getting started-which is why I checked recommend (I'm a heavy techie but was still impressed with effort they went thru). Problems for me: 1) could not control my DISH Hopper2. No matter what I did I had no control over it. Tried to control my Onkyo speakers either bluetooth or optical. TCL has no BT; optical worked but remote only controlled TV volume not Onkyo. If you are looking for PURE streaming TV this would work for you, but non-Roku speakers and satellite set-top-box = no. FYI, I returned w/o any issue to BB and purchased Samsung series 7 and love it so far (for $20 less).

I have enjoyed my purchase of the TCL Series 5 50" tv. After watching some reviews online I decided to buy this TV as I needed an upgrade. Now I have seen better HDR, but again this is a budget tv. It still does well for the price. The Roku addition is a nice touch and a great selling point as I cut the cord years ago. Picture quality is great. Blu Rays look nice. And connecting my desktop PC for extra streaming options works better than I anticipated. Now if you want better sound I woudl consider a soundbar addition. But for my needs the sound worked fine. Overall the TV is a great value. And I would recommend it to anyone who wanted a budget large tv with some additions.

TCL Series 5 is a way to go!!! Reasons: Dolby Vision, Inbuilt Roku tv so no need to buy additional device, pretty easy to use - install the apps > login > watch your show, price wise really reasonable.

Okay, so I actually bought this TV in June 2020, but five weeks later, it met with an extremely untimely end at the hands of a good friend and a large box. It was a whole thing. We shall not speak of it. But I went online and just ordered another one exactly like it. It's that good. The picture is breathtaking to me, coming as I was from an 8-year-old not-terribly-smart TV. Very easy to set up with my Roku account. The sound wasn't bad, though it's much better with a sound bar. My only annoyance is you have to hold the remote aimed precisely at the TV to get it to work. Somehow, I'll survive.
