This is my fifth TCL all in bedrooms, I have 3 of the 3 series, 1 of the 4 series and now this 5 series. I like the appearance of this tv. While it is a slim bevel around the tv the picture doesn’t go all the way to the edge so looks bigger when on, so not a lot of difference between the 4 and 5 when on. I like the Roku platform. My only complaints with TCL is the mounting patterns with bottom of the tv being thicker not much wiggle room with where you can mount the bracket. Second the remote if you use over the air antenna would be nice to have numbers to go straight to it. Overall good TV for the money

The Price and quality met for me could I tell it wasn't a Samsung ? I like it as much as Samsungs budget 2020 maybe as much as the next considering I saved $200 that I couldnt afford and was able to afford some Geek Squad with money I have saved ,I will try to shop for all Electronics at Best Buy ,I wanted to wait for about a month to write how pleased I am seeing that I have bought the TCL Series 5 I was hoping for a 43 inch got a fifty inch . I would definitely recommend this TV for 50 inch and 55 inch I got the Series 5 wanted Geek squad too much for TCL Series 6 and satisfaction is nice

Excellent picture and value, the built in roku makes it a perfect hub for all your subscriptions. Plus the 4k channel makes it easy to find HDR content

Wasn't very excited about buying a TV sight unseen, but with Rona the Beer Bug closing down everywhere but Walmart, we had no choice. Called our local Best Buy & they let us in the back door & the poor fella stood WAAAAYYY more than 6 feet from us. They let us look at the open box stock. They didn't have what we wanted but I did find it an hour & a half away. Roadtripin, during the lockdown!!! We're rebels! Love the TV, loved the price, easy to use if you're familiar with Roku already, picture is perfect. Stay safe, stay healthy!!

I researched this product quite extensively and compared it to a number of other TVs. Basically I picked The TCL 50" Class 5 Series because it had everything I needed for our Theatre room. Great picture, great sound ( without having some sort of external speaker) and already being familiar with the Roku system there was no learning curve. We have no need for goofy extras like surfing the net or controlling other house items. So don't know anything about that. But this TV has everything we need. And was a great deal!

Love the roku products this is my 2nd roku tv and we love them this 5 series TCL has everything 120fps for minimal input lag when the Xbox is connected it doesnt just have 4k uhd but with HDR (High Dynamic Range) and not just regular HDR but Dolby Vision and this Log gamma hybrid technology also great. And at a great price that's why i went with the 5 series, the 4 series is 60fps with regular HDR so the higher series is great the 6 and 7 series are the QLED Models so if that's what you want go for it you won't be disappointed!

I've read the criticisms of this television brand but listened to the positive reviews instead. I also know Ellen show recommends this brand. My 2017 LG 4K screen started going out, so I could have purchased a $1000 television for all the bells and whistles. Instead I bought a $400 tv that still has all the bells and whistles. My only complaint is the quality fade from a side view often found in these televisions. The Roku system is the BEST out there. Picture is spectacular and Dolby Vision looks amazing.

I purchased my 50" TCL tv just about 1 month ago. I bought it based on customer reviews. This is an awesome, economical, 4K Roku smart tv. I set mine up in less than half hour.
Picture quality is great. But remember most cable and Netflix, Amazon do not stream in 4K. Some tv shows & movies do though on subscription services.
One of the best things is the Roku remote. Very simple with just a handful of buttons.
I am very happy with this tv as i watch a lot of movies and shows.

Excellent picture and sound quality. Having the built in Roku is great as it eliminated the need for a separate Roku box cluttering up the TV stand. Setup was quick and easy. Total time to unpack and setup the TV was under thirty minutes. Definitely worth the money.

I didn’t know much about TCL. Specifically I wanted a 4K TV with a high refresh rate with 120hz. But after some research from reviews I decided to buy one. I was not disappointed. This Tv has an excellent picture with very good sound quality. It’s a little more expensive than a tv with a lower refresh rate but well worth the money. Once I figure out how to use the Roku I am sure I will be even more satisfied. I would recommend.

I am really impressed with this TCL television. The price was wonderful. The picture is clear and the color is perfect. Smart TV, what more could you ask for? This is a fantastic value! Seriously.
I ordered and paid online. Within 30 minutes I got an email saying it was ready. We pulled up, they came to the car Immediately, RAN in the store and was loading the TV within minutes and we were outta there!
Very satisfied.

I have nothing negative to say about this TV. I have always leaned to Samsung, but this TV was for our father-in-law to use in our den, and he likes to watch sports, and gets confused with multiple remote controls. I thought the built in Roku was the way to go with a single remote. I am so happy we purchased this TV. I think it is now the best TV in our house. We have a Samsung 55" 1080 3D TV, but this 4K has a fantastic picture. Everyone in the house is impressed with it. It is not connected to cable - just streaming from the Roku and I have purchased a $30 HDTV antenna. You won't be disappointed if you purchase this TV.

I bought this about a month ago, so far works great, beautiful crisp and clear picture. Seems to be well made. If you have a narrow TV stand you might need to measure the legs are stretched out pretty wide. Also don't care for the remote with sound buttons on the side that has to be pointed directly at the receiver in the set. If you can love with that you will have an awesome set. I'm overall quite happy with it.

I will be honest I purchased this TV to use as a computer display in my living room over christmas. I read more or surf the internet rather than watch tv. I plug in my laptop and with my wireless keyboard and mouse take care of my work or evening surfing/shopping. I thought the price was amazing for the size.
My only complaint is the roku remotes for my TV, this display and another in the next room all trigger all the tvs.

I really like this tv. I like the picture and the fact that it has integrated Roku. However, I do not like the remote control. It has no numbers on it, so one cannot go directly to a specific channel. Finding any program, requires a large amount of scrolling.

I just bought this TV and this is what I personally think of this TV. First off, the Dolby Vision on this TV isn't great. It's inconsistent and looks grainy, the only upside is the motion is more fluid in Dolby Vision. I found that HDR content looks better than the Dolby Vision content on this TV. The HDR isn't catch your eye type amazing, but it's decent. The 4k content, however, is excellent. No grainy noise in the picture, everything is smooth and crisp on the 4k viewing. 4k content is the main positive for this TV. The interface of this TV is terrible, it was laggy right out of the box. My Netflix glitched out a few times on the first day, I had to uninstall and re-install and my TV is only a day old. The sound is pretty solid. The viewing angles aren't too great, if you watch from the side there is a big difference and downgrade in picture quality. This TV is best for a bedroom setting where you are watching from bed, or a central position. Overall, I'd say the TV is a decent purchase for the price, if your looking for a bedroom TV for casual use.

Hi Zeus,
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. There are options available to adjust the picture settings to better fit your personal preference. You can access the Options menu on the TV by pressing the asterisk (*) button on your remote while watching content. Additionally, you can access expert picture settings by downloading the free Roku mobile app on a smartphone or tablet. The Roku mobile app works as a remote and allows you to access additional features like voice search, private listening, expert picture settings, and more. Hope this helps & happy viewing!
Thank you,

Good picture and sound quality. Nice to have Roku built in. No Wifi problems. I have found a few MKV media files that will not play audio to the internal speakers, although they work fine on other sets. Netflix also had a problem playing DolbyVideo format, but Netflix corrected that. Great value for money when I bought it....even though I think the price has already dropped since then.

I've fallen in love with the TCL televisions. This is my 2nd one and I couldn't be happier. (The 1st one is in another room) I don't have cable so having the roku built in is a real game changer for cord management! If you already own a roku, once you log in, it will automatically populate all of your apps. It was simple to set up, is an excellent value, and receives a great picture.
