Nice and Easy

It took 20 minutes to set up the TV that was with cable and services ready to go. The ROKU home screen is the best by miles. The pictures is great for sports, computer, and streaming. My parents who are in their 70s use it easily. That makes my life easier. Thank you ROKU.

Great Value (At the Time I Purchased)

It was easy to set up and the picture quality is awesome! I did not buy this TV on sale. Considering performance and features, the price I paid made this a great value. However, the price went up $100 right after I bought it. For what it is going for now, I would recommend comparing other brands.

Great TV, didn't want to connect to TCL soundbar
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is probably my 6th TCL and you can't get a better quality for the price. We have put it on our screened in porch (which makes me a little nervous) but it is protected in every way except temp/humidity so we shall see. But, even outside, the picture is vivid and bright and we have no difficulty seeing it, even on sunny days. One issue we had, and we have had it with one other TCL. We got the matching sound bar and tried connecting it the two ways TLC recommends. Both ways had issues. One would say it was connected but not ever play sound; the other would show it was connected under devices but it wasn't an option to select on a different screen. Eventually we got it to work, but it was a roundabout fix that shouldn't be necessary. I would also like to add a bit about my pickup. I set up my pickup in Morehead City, NC and I live about 45 minutes from there. When I got there it only took them about 2 minutes to find and pull out the TV, they had me pull up to the front, and we got it in the car. I was so pleased with how efficient that process was! Thanks everyone!

It has a very minimalist and modern appearance. The out of the box color after making only a few recommended setting adjustments from RTINGS is quite accurate to the eye. The ROKU platform is superb! The price is beyond reproach. Look, it is not perfect. You will need outboard sound and HDR is not excellent as the set does not get bright enough. HIGHLY recommended.

TV is nonfunctional

Such as air play not working and the Roku app not working whatsoever. Don’t buy this save your money for something better.

Do not want to enter credit card to watch tv

However, to set up to watch the tv, she had to enter a credit card number. I don't understand why a person has to do this if they are not subscribing to any pay apps.

When you are initially creating your Roku account there is one page that prompts you for credit card information to help make future purchases easier if you choose to make them. However, on this page, if you scroll down to the bottom, there should be a 'skip' button. It is not a requirement to input credit card information, simply the option. Hope this helps!

Cheap products… don’t buy!!!!

We have bought 2 TCL tv’s both of which didn’t last long at all! What a waste of money. When we called TCL to inquire about the warranty, they blamed us for breaking the tv and said our warranty was voided because they wouldn’t repair or replace a tv they said we broke. Tv’s don’t last long, the screens turn black and if you relocate any of the tv’s they are so thin that they crack easily or with any little movement. Save yourself the time, money and headache and buy another brand!

TCL 50S535 Roku TV won't connect to WiFi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an Archer A7 WiFi router. his TV will not detect or connect to the WiFi unless the router is directly next to(almost touching the TV). Was on tech support with TCL for a few hours. They do recommend that the WiFi router is not farther than 20 feet. Which in my option is a joke. But still will not connect when it is 10 feet. All other devices in the house show strong signal to the router at any distance or room. We also tried connecting to our Apple 12 phone hotspot. Also, will not connect unless the phone is directly next to the TV. TCL has logged a case with their next level support to contact me later. Shouldn't have to be dealing with WiFi issues in this day and age!

3 months later no Internet. 8 months audio

Approximately 3 months after owning the Wifi Internet quit working and now 8-9 months later audio works only on occasion. TV speaker works but won't receive or send audio from stereo or laptop or other device. I used to be an AV tech so this is a load of junk. Get the extended warranty if you have to have this TV. Picture is nice, Roku interface is nice, but it's pretty much useless without Wifi or audio. Right now I have a cat5 Internet cable run across the middle of my house so I have hard wired Internet but can only use tv speaker, which leaves a lot to be desired especially if you want to enjoy youtube music or spotify and such. What a waste of money.
