Read a lot of positive reviews of various TCL models over the last two years so decided to try the 50 in 535 model that Rtings seemed to like quite a bit. Turns out, they were right. I’m a pst Samsung fan, but this company seems to have dumbed down their latest midline models. TCL, on the other hand is offering more for your money. I bought based on Rtings test results, and this 535 puts our Sammy NU8000 in the shade for $150 less. Definition, colors, brightness, operations and controls are all superior for $399 - a bargain! Don’t miss out on this one!

Pretty impressed with this TV. So I have been reading a lot of reviews because I was not sure about TCL cause I have not owned one or let alone know anyone that does own one. I was debating between this and the Samsung Q60T. So I bought this as an early Christmas gift for my girlfriend. I have an LG C7 OLED so to say that I am impressed with the picture quality I really am! Out of the box, I did not have to mess with the settings too much. Dolby Vision on a $400 TV is a steal and it excels with HDR content. Do not be confused but the TV does not support HDR10 but I could be fooled. The speakers are not bad either it got pretty loud from what I noticed. It is a Roku TV so there is no shortage of apps what so ever. The only negative I have and I am not going to dock a star because it was not that bad but noticeable but there is motion blur. We were watching Project Power on Netflix and there were scenes that the TV was slightly struggling to keep up. I cannot comment on video game performance. But for merely streaming and watching movies it is a very solid performer. I am just curious about reliability at this point but definitely worth the price.

Five stars for price point. Roku is easy to use and set up. For a relatively cheep TV, it really packs in a lot of qualities you would only expect to find with more expensive models. Most everything is golden about this, though make sure to use movie mode to avoid the soap opera effect. Along with that, a little color calibration goes a long way. The one big issue...it stunk. There was a new bad plastic smell that lasted 2 and 1/2 weeks before fading away. It's much better now, so I'm glad I didn't return it.

Love the built in Roku. Wish remote was a little bigger and backlit for night use. Otherwise, we're happy with the picture, fuctionality, and sound. Bought series 5 vs 6 because I wanted 50" which is not an option in series 6. It has met our needs.

The picture quality is outstanding (had a 1080p Vizio) and I really enjoy the Roku features. Was using a Roku stick before but this is much easier. Still have cable and TV interacts seamlessly with the cable box. I researched the various options at this price and it is very hard to beat the current Class 5 QLED 4K model with any previous models or other brands at this price point.

I purchased this TV as an open box and it’s a great value for the price! I’ve always purchased Samsung televisions in the past, but this set and the basic 32” in my bedroom have made me a believer in TCL. The picture quality is quite good and the menus are very intuitive. I did have some issues with the description of the set on the website but multiple BB store associates stepped up with some great customer service.

Really like this TV. The picture is real good and Roku works well. As mentioned in other reviews the remote does not have a lot of functions but I was able to use my cable remote for 95% of the the functions I need. I have been using the TV for a while now and am very pleased. Great TV for the price.

This Class5 QLED TCL TV is a really great value. They are shown on various review sites to be a really good TV to use for 4K gaming and I couldn't agree more. Looks awesome with the PS4Pro and XBSX. HDR looks great. I got this for under $400 on pre xmas sale and you just can't go wrong. The built in Roku works well. The sound is a little weak so do yourself a favor and get the TCL Soundbar with wireless subwoofer and for less than $500 you will have a quality setup

First time i am buying a TCL TV. After checking Rtings web page i was between this one and Hisense H8. Since my wife watches normal TV shows not 4k movies, i did not want to spend a fortune on an LG OLED TV. This is the cheapest TV i have ever bought and to be honest i love it! As expected, the visual quality on this tv of course as not great as high ends TVs from LG, Sony, Samsung. Considering the price TCL asks for this TV, if you dont want to spend a lot on a TV or prefer upgrading more frequently than buying an expensive tv and keeping it for years this unit is awesome! TCL S535 + Descent Sound Bar + Geek Squad protection. Awesome Price/Performance product! * Planning to buy 3 of them in the future for my triple screen PC Gaming setup in a few months! (I hope they will add HDMI 2.1 support with never models for 50"). Only downside for gaming is 60Hz so far. * It works great with HBO MAX Dolby, (only had one problem with WW84, but it was related with HBO Max not TCL).

Beautiful design. Bright picture. Easy to use. 4K is smooth. Dolby Vision looks great. Roku is fairly easy to use and Airplay is a nice addition. Top recommended TV on Wirecutter for a few years and this year the addition of QLED expands the lead over other brands at this price point. I’m loving it.

So far so good. The 4k picture quality is really good for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime. There was some stutter for Disney plus. The hdr10 is meh. I enjoy the Roku very much because I love being able to switch apps quickly. The sound is good to average. The only thing that I don’t love is the remote. It’s small and gets lost quickly.

After 1 month. Bought 50" TCL 5-Series to replace 12 year old Plasma in bedroom. Took a flyer on budget TV. Blown away by picture quality. Deep black akin to ink courtesy VA panel. Clean panels BTW. No issue with brightness in bedroom. 1x ghosting/halo. Bit of Latency with OS. Absolute winner esp. below $400.

Putting qled into the 5 series this year was a fantastic idea. Picture looks great and it’s a tv that pretty much anybody can afford. If this was going to be your main tv I’d recommend getting a 6 series if you can. Even if you can’t it’s still a great entry into 4k. The Roku interface is great as usual.
