I got my TCL 50Q550G ($249.99 with free shipping) on Oct. 23 and these are settings that will give you a great picture (IMO): with Picture Mode set to "Smart HDR", go to Advanced Settings and make the following settings: Brightness 85, Contrast 90, Black Level 55, Dynamic Contrast OFF, Black Stretch OFF, Dynamic Brightness OFF, Micro Contrast OFF, Gamma 2.2, Color Saturation 45, Tint 50, Dynamic Color ON, Color Temperature -3, Sharpness 25, Digital Noise Reduction Medium, Noise Reduction Low, Gradation Clear Low, Motion Clarity OFF, Natural Cinema ON. If you see annoyingly imperfect sound to picture synch, try setting Audio Delay for best synch (the best setting for your particular set will probably be somewhere between -50 and +100). Never do reviews and got this for my son and its the best bang for your money the picture is better then my Samsung 65 QN85 tv that i got for myself at same time in late 2023 this TCL tvs upscale for apps like direct tv stream and spectrum watching shows that dont always broadcast in extreme 4k HD and the black is true super nice tv for gaming on xbox only difference is Samsung tvs dont always need xbox to play some games but the amount you are saving u can buy yourself multiple systems only thing is the Google software need faster updates for apps and security and need better internet cards they both max at 100mps but with does use both 2.4 and 5 but like most tvs dont yet have wifi 6 yet but all around TCL is stepping up its game when the dropped roku and went with Google for all the tvs

I recently purchased a TCL TV, and overall, it has performed adequately. The picture quality is decent, providing clear visuals and vibrant colors, which makes for an enjoyable viewing experience. Friendly guide, ease of use. Love the smart tv option of watching free google tv vs other apps: hulu. Netflix, etc. Picture looks awesome. First startup took me a while reading instructions but once that was complete it was worth every minute. Great price.

This TV is a replacement for one that stopped working properly after three and a half years (relevant for what's to come below). Geek Squad's phone evaluation was that it wasn't worth fixing so we opted for this TCL model, which is slightly smaller than our previous TV (50" vs 55"). Although much cheaper ($250) than its predecessor ($650) we like it as much if not more for the following reasons. The interface of this TCL is superior to the Hisense that it replaces and doesn't freeze up like the previous TV did. The colors are vibrant and relatively true to the material shown. The sound quality could be better, but it's good enough to understand without a soundbar (or external speakers). The absence of high-density local dimming may bother some viewers but doesn't bother my wife or me (very much). I can sense a slight magnetic field emanating from the TV but it's not too bad if one sits more than 10 feet from the unit. Because of the previous TV's premature death, I opted for a 5-year protection plan (for $50) to cover any problems that might arise.

Good picture, don't like operating system can't turn off Screensaver so the tv will stay on with out asking you if your still there. And then going to ambient mode, while your watching tv.

Got this TV on a steal for $150! It is definitely a great TV for the price. I never use the “smart” part of a smart TV because I have an Apple TV so I can’t speak to that. I think the picture is great and the audio is decent. Overall I would recommend this TV if you don’t have the budget for a LG OLED.

My wife and I are very pleased with the TCL 50 Q5 QLED. The set up was extremely easy and the picture quality is exceptional. The 4k color is very natural especially considering the price. The Best Buy price was unbeatable. We would highly recommend this brand and model television.

Had this a few weeks now, running PS5 and streaming Google TV 4k Chromecast. It does have VRR and up to 120hz with what it says it 1440 though it is slightly blurry. With 4k Chromecast this tv will support it's Dolby Vision setting. Not a review on the TV but rather best buy's quality control: My box was pretty banged up, if this weren't a best buy exclusive I would have gone elsewhere. They had the TV for a few weeks before I picked up, plenty of time to order a new 1 to the store. When I picked it up and noticed the damage they shrugged and said it was delivered like that from FedEx(which I believe); but I worked at FedEx, they would insure that TV for $3 and best buy could have filed a claim. Because the inner styrofoam was broken in pieces it was extremely difficult to take the TV out without breaking the screen. Luckily at least it doesn't seem like anything on the outside is damaged.

If you read the online reviews of this TV, they are spot on. This is an amazing TV for the price. It was easy to set up and paired with our Google account with a few simple steps. We use them in the guest bedrooms in our new home and it is the perfect solution.

This is the second qled smarttv I've purchased from Best Buy in a year. Paid more than double for a 55" google tv from another brand, but this 50" was a replacement for a bedroom tv. I'm amazed how the features on this one stack up. Comparable in every way, save for a slightly smaller screen. In fact, the only difference I've noticed is the refresh rate (which may only affect video games) is 60 hz. Beautiful picture, pairs flawlessly with my soundbar, and boots up very quickly. The photos didn't show the remote but it includes a google voice assistant button, as well as buttons for prime video, youtube, netflix, apple tv, and two tcl apps. Volume, channel, and power buttons have braille which make it very easy for users to become easily acquainted with the remote layout. I still cant believe the value! I highly recommend giving tcl a try if you're in the market for a new tv. This really exceeded my expectations.

I got this TV on sale for $199. For the price, i cant complain. Its light and definitely feels cheap but the picture quality is solid. Personally, i wouldnt use it for a living space or large viewing area, but as a TV for my office or spare room, its great.

I have no experience with smart TVs, but I found this one to be super easy to set up -- basically plug it in and provide the information needed for wifi etc. It works perfectly with my Amazon fire stick, and the picture and color looks great to me.

Vivid color, sound and qaulity product. Got this as gift to my mom as she needed a upgrade. Since she is able to watch her apple tv in there, she really love its features now. Lol

The picture quality for the price of this tv is outstanding. For the specs this tv has at the price point there may not be a better budget tv available. I’d highly recommend this tv to anyone in the market for a quality tv at a great price point.

Once you write a review it can't be updated, sigh. So here are my initial thoughts: I will be running the fiber optic audio into a home theatre system. But in the meantime OMG the sound from this TV is horrible!! If you turn it up enough to really hear dialogue it puts out an ear piercing sound. There is Absolutely no low end. If you don't plan to use a sound bar or something like that be forewarned the sound is really terrible. The TV picture quality is good for the price Set up and registering was the usual hassle. Wouldn't take the model number with the online registration. A "help" option sent me to and identical screen which then accepted the model number. The serial number is unbelievably long! I ended up being subscribed to a service that charged to my credit card and it took me a while on the phone with my credit card company and then the vendor that charged me to undo that.

My previous 120hz tv cost 1000 2yrs ago. I absolutely love this television. For the cheap price 120hz for xbox gaming. Quality is phenomenal never had any issues. Will putchase again.

I was a little hesitant on buying this brand again, since i had a older version but to my surprise they did a lot of updates and made it more user friendly, would recommend buying this tv for ease of use, picture and quality. Great buy!!

I was really looking to buy an Amazon TV. Was talked into this TV by a sales person. It was only $30 more evpensive but had a better picture. This TV is a Google TV and I am not failiar with Google's OS. This TV does have a better picture however I had to create a google play account, which I found mildly unpleasant. Now when I turn the TV on and switch between apps it is slow, like crazy slow! it takes 60 seconds for the apps to come up sometimes. It makes me think the remote is not working and I move it around, and then it perfomes the action 20 times because I pressed the button 20 times. Pain never let a sales guy who wera sunglasses in the store talk you into anything you dont want.
