Coming from a 10 year old Sony 1080p 50 inch tv this is a whole different image quality. Better colors darker blacks great audio. This tv is bright not the brightest but for the price is and a budget tv this local dimming tv is great. For gaming is not the best but to me and the price is good.

Easy set up, sharp picture, Improvement from my last non smart tv that this is replacing. Once thing I am still trying to match up and fix is the audio and tv are not in sync. I tried the audio delay setting but without success,

A beautiful TV with many options. Very easy to set up and very bright without looking washed out. Colors are vibrant and this TV shines with a 4K Blu-Ray player and a video game console. Video modes are plenty. Cinema mode is worth the price alone as it makes even regular TV look amazing. Gaming mode looks vibrant on both PS5 and Xbox, with both systems showing excellent responsiveness. Menus are well done, but since you can configure so many items, you do get lost until you work with the settings for a bit. Sound is way better than other TV’s of its type. This TV has more range with a little more bass, as compared to other large named TV’s. Sound is clear and not muddy. Have not needed to use my sound bar since installing the TCL. A great product offered by Best Buy.

Nice picture. Easy setup. Easy to move, very light. Had originally purchased a Samsung and was not happy with picture and remote. Returned for this one. So much better!

The TCL QM5K QLED-Mini LED TV is very easy to set up and has a pretty good picture. What I didn't realize, because there wasn't a TV displayed in the store, is that the viewing angle is extremely limited. The colors "wash out" and take on a gray-ish tone. If you sit with a direct view, and not off-center, you'll be very pleased with this TV.

Overall, good value for the money. The picture is pretty good for this new mini-LED technology. The refresh rate could be better at 60HZ though if gaming or watching sports. TV was definitely lighter than I expected, but was a positive for me since I mounted it on the wall.

The tv was easy set up. It was also much lighter than I anticipated. The picture is of good quality and teh sound for a tv is excellent.

I got this TV for my bedroom and it is BRIGHT! For a budget mini-led the blacks are good with very very little blooming going on. While I wouldn’t say this is competition for an OLED like the Qm8K is it is definitely a great bedroom TV. I haven’t gamed on it yet so I can’t speak for the quality there but I’m sure it will look great and its native 600mbps will suffice for consoles. It can also do 1440p at 244mhz.

This is a great TV, the colors and the full array dimming make this a great TV for the bedroom. Very good picture and the color is very good. The downsides are the off-center viewing angle and the speakers are not the best but for a bedroom tv this model is the best choice in its class!

I've never had enough money to call something that costs 600 or 700 dollars "budget" or "affordable", so I bought this tv. It had the most critical features I was looking for, like local dimming. It's an excellent tv for the price. Probably the best I've ever had.

Really good picture quality compared to other brands at similar price range. There happened to be an open box model of this TCL at the store for just a little bit more than the low cost brand I had in mind, so I went for it. The one thing I'm not too crazy about is the Google integration. This TV was purchased for an older relative and I didn't want to burden them with setting up a Google account. It is possible to set up the TV without having a Goggle account (which I did), but then it gets more complicated to set up. I then dug into the menus and found there are still so many ways that Google can track one's use of the TV even without having a Google account. I turned off or disabled a lot of things in this TV. Now, I'm not anti-Google (I have a Google account), but I feel there is too much complexity introduced to this "smart" TV because of it.

I’ve had the 50” TCL QM5K Series 4K TV since mid-June, and it’s been a great buy—especially for the price. I picked it up after buying a Nintendo Switch 2 and wanted something that could keep up with better visuals without breaking the bank. With limited space, 50” was my max, and this model delivered the best bang for my buck. The QD-mini LED tech produces vibrant colors and great contrast, and the full-array local dimming adds noticeable depth to the image. I use it mainly for streaming and gaming, and both look excellent. Another standout feature is how well it handles glare—I haven’t had any issues even with bright light in the room. My only caution is that the bezels are ultra-thin, so you’ll want to handle it with care during setup. But overall, this TV punches well above its price point. Highly recommend if you’re looking for premium performance at a mid-range price.

The TV is great, the install went well, no problems. The install tech, Sean, did a great job. I did not like finding out the day before install that there would be an additional $130 fee because the TV was mounted above a fire place!! All the technician had to do was remove the existing TV from the already installed mounting bracket and then place the new TV on the same bracket. No major construction for this job. There was no mention of any additional install charges at time of purchase, there was nothing on the receipt or paper work I received. Best Buy should tell the customer up front that there will be additional charges. The install technician said that this happens all the time and the customers get mad at him because the store failed to inform them of the additional charge. Best Buy should refund the additional charge.

I was unfamiliar with TCL TVs, I'm so glad I made the purchase of a 50" Mini LED Smart TV with Google TV. Beautiful picture quality, light weight, awesome easy to navigate user interface.

Perfect bedroom TV! Mini-led makes the blacks deep and stay deep, qled means the colors are pure and vibrant, and it sounds great! Not the brightest, but this is really meant as a bedroom tv. 10/10!

I’m extremely impressed with the TCL QM5K. The picture quality is stunning for the price — the colors are vibrant, the contrast is sharp, and the Mini-LED technology really makes a difference, especially in darker scenes. Blacks look deep without losing detail, and bright scenes pop without being overwhelming. The Google TV interface is smooth, easy to navigate, and gives me access to all my favorite streaming apps in one place. I'm not the most informed consumer of TVs, but for the price this TV seems to be great value (I've had for a month or so now). UI is user friendly with customizable options. Picture seems clear and vibrant to me, though if you really focus you can notice some pixelation which could bother folks. I use it primarily to watch football and sports and it is sufficient for my tastes. Sunday ticket multiview can be a bit lower quality, but full screen games look fine to me. I think this is excellent value for the $300 price tag, especially if it survives for a few years.

I’m really happy with this TV. It has a great picture especially for the price. I can’t speak to the google tv function as I never activated it. I use an Apple TV box. Surprisingly, the TCL remote works with the Apple TV without programming. Highly recommend.

Upgraded a bedroom tv for my grandfather with this TCL. Pretty much anything would be an upgrade over an early 2000s samsung with a partially burned out backlight but we were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of such a budget priced tv. We got it for around $275 on black Friday and compared to pretty much every tv at that price point this TCL is the best option and it's not even close. The color and brightness blows pretty much every hisense, samsung, and LG out of the water in the cheaper TV segment. TCL's built in display settings are pretty intuitive and some editing can really make shows and movies blow you away with the color and sharpness of the image. TCL's motion smoothing is significantly less jarring to look at than other brands and makes lower quality videos look less choppy. Our one complaint thus far is the activation delay in the local dimming. Not sure if it's an issue with our specific TV but when a dark scene comes on there is a noticeable delay in the backlight dimming that can sometimes ruin how a scene looks and breaks your focus actively seeing the scene dim much slower than other full array tvs you see in store. I however can't in good faith compare it to our only other tv with local dimming (Hisense U8QG) considering the price difference but still a factor to consider. Otherwise excellent TV for the money.

Tough to beat at this price point. I was in the market for a secondary TV and "settled" on this TCL which had a lot of features not often found in a 50" size. After setting it up, honestly it's pretty amazing. Gets plenty bright and viewing angles are acceptable. Color seems reasonably accurate in Movie mode and the picture quality is great. I was surprised how well HDR content is displayed. The built-in speakers are nothing to write home about, but they're not terrible either. They get loud enough and clarity is fine, just don't expect anything special here. Overall this is a fine TV. When considering price, I would say it is outstanding. Highly recommended.
