THIS MAY BE THE ONE PURCHASED ON LINE WITHE A LIVE CHATT WITH ME SAYING I WAS LOOKING FOR THE TCL S 403. WHEN DELIVERED I SET IT UP AND FOUND IT WAS PROGRAMNED TO OPEN OR CLOSE A CONNECTION TO USE MY OLDER RECEIVER FOR SOUND. MY TCL S405 43 IS LESS COMPLACTED, 2012 PURCHASED AND DOES NOT NEED AN ON AND OFF SETTING TO PLAY SOUND THROUGH MY OLDER RECEIVER. AFTER BRINGING IT BACK TO THE STORE, THIS IS WHEN AN EMPLOYEE RECOMENDED ANOTHER TO BE SHIPPED TO MY HOUSE. AFTER SEEIG THE CONNECTIONS ON THE BACK, IT WAS RETURNED TO THE STORE. A TCL 55S403 IS WHAT I NEED.

Horrible TV. Installers couldn't get it to work for quite a while...turns out it was a bad TV. Picture was awful and the sound was delayed from the picture. Best Buy handled it well and exchanged it for a Samsung...which is what i wanted in the first place.

Good but not great

I've had this TV for a while now. I have it on a screened in covered patio. Generally the TV works well. Google TV is stable, and guide works fine. The issue is with the HDR. On some apps like Amazon Prime or Apple TV, the HDR can't really be turned off, or colours/brightness/contrast etc enough to be able to see the shows during daytime. If inside the house it's much better, and at night it's great. The ability to disable this is a failure.

Do not trust TCL to honor its warranty

Our nonprofit works tirelessly to empower disadvantaged youth, and we purchased a TCL Google TV (model 50S551G) to support our mission by displaying uplifting photos and important announcements for our participants. Little did we know we were buying more than just a TV—we were buying into months of frustration and broken promises.
The problem: The TV fails to perform a basic function it was advertised to do. Despite connecting to a Google Album for screensaver use, it consistently fails to display all the files. Even when files are identical in type (i.e. JPEG) and size, some display while others inexplicably do not.
We first reported this issue to TCL on October 24, 2024. Since then, we have jumped through every hoop TCL has thrown at us: troubleshooting, providing videos, photos, and detailed documentation. Yet, over a month passed before an agent admitted that our video clearly showed the TV was malfunctioning. The case was escalated, giving us hope, but here we are two more months later with no response, no updates, and no resolution.
This company’s disregard for its customers and lack of accountability is appalling. TCL seems more interested in stonewalling than honoring their commitments. Let this be a warning to anyone considering TCL products: Do not trust this company to stand by its products or its warranties. Their customer service is inept, their processes are maddeningly slow, and their communication is non-existent. We purchased this TV to enhance our mission. Instead, it’s been a costly distraction, and TCL has made it clear they care neither about their customers nor the promises they make. Avoid TCL at all costs.

Nice upgrade for me. My old tv was a 32” Goodwill find. Worked but the sound was terrible and connecting a dvd to it was nearly impossible. This new smart tv is wonderful! Easy to set up, it even has special channels separate from my regular cable. It’s great!

Terrible picture and sound, just don't buy it

It's pretty bad, picture is dimm, you have to keep it at 95-100% all the time and contrast almost the same, none of automatic settings help, no matter on what input you are, fast moving picture it's mostly choppy, this is not year 2005 anymore, there is limited sound settings and speakers sound like 2$ per speaker, no equalizer, only pre-set equalizer, only up is this has simple over the air channels loaded from Internet but I don't care about this, returned and bout Hisense Q5 for 10$ cheaper and is sooo much better
