Very quiet operation but defrost phase is too long

It replaces a Toshiba unit, which was installed in 2013 to replace a unit that was part of the Gree recall. I hope this TCL unit lasts that long! The ambient temperature is around 55 deg F, so defrost cycles are used. Seems to defrost more often than the the Toshiba did, but could be different refrigerant and a cooler collector. It does appear that the defrost phase (compressor off and fan at max) lasts longer than necessary. The visible frost is gone in about 30 seconds but the defrost phase runs for about 8 minutes, during which time the relative humidity increases by about 4%. The compressor runs for about 10 minutes (fan speed at low) or 12 min (fan at med) between defrosts. I didn't time it with fan at high because the change in fan speed is what I was using to find the ends of the defrost phase. The compressor is pretty quiet. I think if the defrost phase were shortened the unit would be able to get the RH down to the setpoint of 60%. The displayed RH is running from around 62% to 66%. At 55 deg F, it's discharging about 13 pts/day. Display is very easy to read, even at an angle. I'm quite content with the controls but I have no use for the WIFI feature. Had Best Buy offered the version without it I'd have saved a few bucks.
