Buyer beware. This product is garbage. Mine lasted for 1 year and 4 months and then died. I called the company and they said the warranty was 1 year so there was nothing they could or would do. I knew going in for this price point that it would not last forever but I figured I would get at least 4 or 5 years.

First TV I ordered arrived with the screen cracked. I took it back and got a new one. Everything was fine for a few months, then the TV just decided to be incompatible with my internet. I would have to connect the TV to my cell phone hotspot for app updates/downloads. Now, just a few days ago, less than 2 years of having the TV, the screen went black. I am assuming the backlight went out. It’s not cost effective to have to buy a new Roku TV every 2 years, so we’ll be going with a different brand in the future.

We have had 2 TCL TVs (this one and a 75”) and both died after a year and a half of owning them. Managed to fix the 55” one with new boards which was about $100. Second one was unsalvageable. Luckily, all TVs are pretty inexpensive now. Spend the few extra bucks to get an LG or Samsung. It’ll actually be cheaper in the long run.

Backlight Issue After 13-18 Months of Use

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Worked perfectly fine for 18 months and was very satisfied - after that, the screen went black but the clicks and volume still audible. Went to a forum board for the issue and you’d be surprised - hundreds of people experienced the same black screen problem 13-18 months in. TCL refuses to respond/assist. First review I’ve ever written, hoping it allows people to steer clear and invest in better technology.

Give it 2 years and your LEDs will go out. Make a payment plan to yourself for a new one in 2 years. Or just crack that wallet open more and spend extra on a better product. The series 4 are known to do it. Do a search now: LEDs series 4 TCL blackscreen.. You have been warned.

After 2 years the software in the TV died, and it just bricked. Never seen a TV in my life die that wasn't 80 years old. There is a reason TCL Tv's are always on sale. The company makes cheap products that don't last. Spend your money somewhere else.
