    TCL, poor reliability and cheap CS

    It's all about bad reliability as well as a cheap TCL customer service. Our TV started acting weird after only 2 years. Brightness goes down and up every 2 seconds and bottom and top of the screen ripling all the time. Makes the TV painfull to watch. Obviously since I did not choose any extended warranty I did not expected a lot but still pretty disappointed with such a poor reliability. TV was at a good price point, but this happening after 2 years makes it actually expensive... So I did contact the customer service and after few emails turned out they can't help. They tried to send me away to best buy with geek squad but they charge at least $300 for a tv repair. At the end TCL just don't want to repair and I guess hope I can buy brand new one... which is what I'm gonna do but this time I'm definitely will pass on TCL. And I recommend you to do so. Bad reliability, bad customer service and btw what about obsolescence ? If we have to change TV every 2 years no wonder why this planet is getting so trashed. Help yourself and avoid a company like this.

Our TVs do come with a 1-year parts and labor manufacturer's warranty for those rare times that defects occur. In cases like this, if you purchased an extended warranty, you may want to reach out to see if you can file a warranty claim through the extended warranty company. Furthermore, if you purchased using a credit card, some credit card companies also provide additional coverage.     TV died after 3.5 years. Worked well then all of a sudden stopped working, no warning.

    We weren’t planning on getting this brand and were unsure about it at first but after having it for a week we absolutely love it! It’s a nice style and the Roku addition is awesome! Great tv for the price : )

    I love it! I had another model of this same tv and i can tell the difference between the two, alot of similarities but picture quality is even better.

    Bad for OTA, good for everything else.

    The only negative is that this TV struggles badly with my antenna for OTA channels. My previous TV got everything with no problems and nothing changed in my setup other than the new TV. The Fox OTA and ABC OTA channels both cut in and out every 15-30 seconds. Everything else works exactly how it should.

    I purchased this TV about 2 years ago. I must admit, I used it for a PC monitor for awhile, before I purchased a really nice G9 monitor. That being said I then moved this TV to another spot in my office for PS 4 games, and general movie purposes. Last week I turned it on, and nothing, no power, sound, or standby light. I purchased a repair kit for 65 bucks, and awaiting for the 3 replacement boards to come. I guess these TV's do this quite a bit, so for 65 bucks, I am going to try and fix it. It looks pretty easy, and better than just tossing the TV. For the price, and the use, I got out of it, the TV was overall a good purchase. It doesn't match the quality of the 87 inch, Samsung, or the two 65 inch Samsung's I have in other areas of the house. For a small room or office, it was a great TV.

    Bought this to replace an older TCL 55" (55S401). At first turn-on it seemed OK. Then things went down hill. Firstly, the sound is quieter than the old TV, need '16-20' on the dial instead of '10' on old TV. AND.... on a few YouTube videos I had the volume cranked up to 70 and still could not here it. On the computer the same vid was fine at low volumes. Secondly, it takes way too long to connect to YouTube. The old TV was instant, this new TV takes from 10 seconds to a minute to connect. AND... every time there is a AD, there is a similar delay. Thirdly, might have been a once off glitch but, one time the remote seemed to not work, then about a minute latter the TV changed channels 5 or 6 times with no input, then froze. Fourthly, after 10 days the remote stopped working altogether. Had to turn TV off at the wall outlet. Now it will not turn on due to the non working remote. So, I'm out $300 and have no TV. I am surprised and disappointed because the old TV was good, only needed replacement because my disabled roommate fell and cracked the screen. Oh, I've called customer service at least 6 times with no help. They hang up before I'm connected after being on hold for 49 minutes, and there is no option on the automated menu for "Faulty" products or "Returns"

    Poor quality, do not buy

    When we first got our TV we were very impressed. The picture and the smart TV functions were great. 6 months after our purchase the CPU went. LG service replaced it free. Now the backlight has gone out just after the warranty expired. A very common problem on these TVs regardless of what the TCL reps say over and over again. Just google it. We are done with TCL. My last Samsung TV lasted 10 years. Be smart and go with another brand.

    Solid TV for the last 2 years.

    However, twice it's done a weird thing where it changes the colors and quality of the picture when trying to watch anything on any app but it goes back to normal after I reset the TV.

    Very good TV. May need external speaker for clearer dialog in some movies, but this seems to be a general problem with flat screen TV's.
