Once TCL received notification, the company quickly took steps to investigate, thoroughly test, develop patches, and implement a plan to send updates to resolve the matter. Updating devices and applications to enhance security is a regular occurrence in the technology industry, and these updates are currently being distributed to all affected Android TV models.

These tvs have about a 2 year shelf life before having black screen issues. You can research this yourself and see that this very common issue occurs in the 18-24 month range of ownership. TCL will NOT issue you any refunds at all and do not stand behind their products longevity. Even though CNET and other rate this product highly out of the box you will be truly disappointed in the long term performance and TCL customer service. My father purchased his 65" 4-series on black friday in 2018 and the TV "died" in 2020. Very disappointed customer

No ROKU

Skip this TV and go for another brand

The react time from pressing a button to a change actually taking place on the tv can sometimes take 10+ seconds up to the point of several minutes at times. It takes me several minutes to start a show on Netflix or Hulu just from starting up the TV. In addition to that, it never records the actual spot where I left off watching a show. I don’t have any additional apps installed on the TV besides the ones that already came with it so I know the issue is not regarding the amount of apps slowing down the TV. I previously owned a TCL and the led strip lights inside of the TV stopped working just one month past warranty expired (owned for a total of 2 years). I am not sure if this is a TCL issue or just my luck, but I am definitely more unhappy with this purchase than I am with my previous TCL.

Loved it until it didn't work

However, now, the HDMI inputs have gone out. All 3 of them. I have to now return this tv. I sure am glad I got the extra time to return it because it was purchased in November and it is now March. 3 and a half months. Very disappointed.

Waste of Money

The apps stop working all the time and I have to reset it to factory settings (probably about once a month on average). This deletes all the apps I've downloaded and removes all saved usernames/passwords. Don't buy this TV. The low price isn't worth it. I learned my lesson.
