Best entry level TV hands down.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am taking time to write a review for this 55 inch TV that i bought 4 years back. After 2 apartment changes, packing and unpacking as many times, it has handled itself flawlessly. Easy to assemble. 3 hdmi ports are good for connecting my sound system and playstation and still leave a port open for some other device. Inbuilt chromecast is a +. Android OS is fast and responsive. Totally in love with this TV.

Lags a little
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this TV for a couple years now, nice tv with good resolution only thing is that it does lag a little at times. Other than that its good.

Excellent Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this TV for 3 years now which I purchased for ~$200. My complaints are that it does not do well when there is glare, it can be a little slow when first starting up if you have a lot of apps, and the sound quality from the TV itself is not good (I use a sound bar). But I think it's hard to beat the price and quality.

Great TV for price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV. Only issue is that if I dont exit a streaming service and turn off the TV, when I turn it back on, it cannot connect to internet. I need to unplug TV for about 10 seconds and it will connect to internet again. Not a big problem. Just like needing to restart your computer. Great TV for a great price

Impressed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I’m impressed with my first TCL, caught a great deal for this price. The overall picture and color gamut is great, the motion handling is solid, the whole viewing experience is quite pleasant, getting a full-array backlight at this price is a steal and noticeable over an edge-lit. 4K looks very decent and HDR feels accurate as do all colors on this TV so far. I must say though my Hisense R6 TV of the same class is an upscaling beast and better with heavy motion and I prefer it in those areas to this TCL. This TV is also Android which is in no way comparable IMO to the popular Roku system, this is much clunkier and randomly arranged, and the settings menus don’t offer enough picture options. The HDMI Arc did not like my sound bar, that may just be my random combination though. For under 300 dollars (less currently) this television is high quality, well-balanced and upscales older shows quite adequately, the color accuracy is fantastic and 4K content is handled decently, it’s a quality screen that didn’t catch too much reflection and glare, and it will probably look more expensive to the average viewer than it was. Certainly a buy

Great purchase so far!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only had this TV for a few days and couldn't be happier! Bought this to replace a Vizio 42 inch in which the volume and channel buttons weren't working (thought a cable remote and a fire stick could fix but didn't) and I was skeptical considering all of the negative reviews but figured for 199.00 I'll take the chance. So glad I did. I was leaning towards a Hisense Roku which I also own but once again I couldn't pass up this price. I am no techie and while I like the Roku interface (ease of use) the andriod/google application is easy for streaming as well (maybe I am just used to Roku). I am also a google user so I was extremely happy (I own a few google mini's as well as a chromebook) so I am somewhat familiar with the setup. As far as the picture and sound I have no complaints - Excellent purchase for the price!

Good value for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this when it was on sale. I already owned a 75 Vizio P series TV which i am extremely happy with, and my review is basically in comparison with the Vizio. First turned on the TCL and it boots to the Android screen and obvious light bleed around the edges, in some spots pretty bad. But i do not plan on using the built in smart capacity of the TV, so switched right to my Firestick. When in Firestick i have no light bleed from menus or watching any TV. I think the bright blue of the TCL smart menus just add to it in the worst way. Watched Avengers endgame final 30 minutes of movie. Picture quality for the price is quite impressive. Sure its no OLED or p-series Vizio, but its a fraction of the price. Its bright enough for my bedroom where i have it, no blur of any kind during the movie. So far a very acceptable picture quality. Sound is very average, but loud if you want. Think i will get a 5.1 for it. I purchased this with my AMEX for the extra year of warranty.

Great but not great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture and sound are great. I am most disappointing in the performance of the smart TV menu. It is sluggish and slow even after turning off power saving mode.

Stick to Phones.... Android is HORRBLE for a TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got 2 of these on sale. The picture quality is great for the price but Android TV is HORRIBLE. I have last years model in a 65" version which has ROKU TV built in and love it. I would have given 5 stars if it still had ROKU built in. Now I had to add an external Roku box because Android is so bad. And no I am not an Apple fan boy. All my phones are Samsung. I just hate the Android TV controls. TCL... If you actually read these reviews please go back to ROKU for next years TV's.

It's ok, some bugs make it annoying to deal with a
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The overall screen quality of this tv is 8/10, I do have some big issues with it tho. First sometimes the tv stops working and the only way to fix it is by unplugging then replugging the tv. The next is sometimes it disconnects from the internet only say to fix it is to unplug then replug. Another is sometimes just the audio of stuff will play and no video only way to fix it is to restart the tv. Another is there is a extra white spot on the tv. These issues get annoying, I mainly use the tv for something to watch while I go to sleep and these issues make it so I have to get out of bed an fix them. I basically have to solve one of the issues once every week or two, not a huge deal but it gets pretty annoying. But my biggest gripe with it is sometimes it signs me out of things randomly. But overall it's an ok tv the sound bar sounds pretty good and the quality / colors are nice. For the price but expecially on a sale it's worth it.
