    THIS TELEVISION IS LOCATED IN MY GREAT ROOM. WE USE THE ROKU CABLE APP, THEREFORE NO CABLE BOX IS ATTACHED. THE IMAGES ON THIS TV IS NOT AS GOOD AS THE IMAGE ARE ON THE TV THAT HAS THE CABLE BOX.

    Dull picture, Buy a Hisense or pay for other brand

    TV looks washed out, dimmed and sound is bad. Please make yourself a favor and buy a Hisense or a comparable Samsung. I don't think you even get what you paid with this tv!

You can access the Options menu on the TV by pressing the asterisk (*) button on your remote while watching content. Additionally, you can access expert picture settings by downloading the free Roku mobile app on a smartphone or tablet.     Good but doesnt last long

    Works perfectly fine but ive been using this for 6mos now and I can honestly say that there is a lag/freeze at some point. Wouldnt buy this brand again in future

    Only problem that I had with this tv is there a sound issue, what happens that in the long run there is like echo in the sound, you just have to unplug your tv to fix this.

    Good if you like Roku

    First of all if you have a streaming box that you like to use that is not roku then I would not recommend. However if you are going to use the built in roku tv then its a great buy.

      Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. In order to use the smart features of this TCL Roku TV, you would need to complete the guided setup. This includes connecting to the Internet via WiFi, creating a Roku account (completely free), and activating the TV (completely free). However, if you just want to use this TV as a traditional TV by connecting external devices through the various inputs and not use the smart features, you can elect to not connect this TV to the Internet at startup. You will still have access to all of the inputs and features of a traditional TV. Hope this helps!

    Beware: Fatal Firmware Bug

    I purchased two of these devices and they both exhibited the same fatal anomaly. After completing the cumbersome setup process, which is partially done on the device but also required switching to a laptop with a keyboard, the set subsequently resumed from sleep with a blank display. The display itself remained energized because a slight blue hue could be observed around the edges. The device controller was functional because remote commands produced typical sound feedback though the speakers. TCL Support's response to this behavior was to "factory reset" the unit, which required a fairly complex process to completely de-energize the unit and return it to pre-initialized state. After reset, the complex enrollment process with the Roku cloud service had to be completed again completely; the cloud did not "remember" any of the customizations previously completed, such as online Channel selections, custom input label, etc. Not a sustainable response once it happened more than once on a device. Do yourself a favor and buy a "dumb" TV without "smarts" and just add a separate Roku or other "set top box" for streaming content.

    Product is good for the money

    This review is more on Best Buy than TCL TV. The television is okay for the bucks spent. Best Buy on the other hand is absolutely horrific at every thing else. They have virtually no customer assistance available for talking about let alone correcting any of the issues with this purchase.. TV contrast suddenly went full black. The only way I could get any contrast back was to go to movie mode. Been almost 5 days now and still unable to get through to Best Buy support for assistance.

    It’s sufficient for the price , but u have to buy the kit ( just spacers and screws that are not included w / the flat screen for mounting purposes

      Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. This TV comes with two feet with screws to secure them, a power cord, a TCL Roku remote with batteries, and a quick start guide. Any sort of mounting brackets or hardware does need to be purchased separately. Hope this helps!

    Initial performance seemed very good. In the second week, the picture began to fade, distort and become unwatchable -- for no apparent reason, I tried adjusting the picture settings, but had to watch through 'movie' setting only. All other picture modes were really more than terrible. Hard to understand - did I just get a lemon?

    Backlight went out after 2 years. TCL support was no help, said since it was outside the 1 year warranty they couldn’t do anything. They said it was a rare issue but I looked o line and it is very common. Don’t buy this piece of trash.
