I bought this TV to use it as a Monitor for my PC, great deal $$$. I did not have the Right wiring OK, while waiting for the wire I started streaming Since this TV has ROKU ( I never had ROKU) I am watching news I could not see in my Xfinity (because I would have to pay for extra packages on Xfinity) I can stream other channels, free movies I never watch etc. So I kept my 42 inch tv attached to my PC and my new TCL 55 inch on WIFI to watch/listen the news while I am working on my office. LOVE IT. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS TV. PS: I have a big desk!!

Quality and very durable tv I don’t ask for more very recommended tv

Worked well for almost 4 years. The backlight has gone out on me and everything I have read on Reddit says it's best to just purchase a new one.

The good: it was affordable at the time. I bought it in November of 2018 for $350. The Roku apps were very helpful and connected easily. The sound quality was quiet good. The bad: the integrated t con board went bad, making the whole screen turn black. After only having it for 18 months it was rendered virtually useless. The display before the board broke, we very dull. Not a true 4k display, it didn't seem to have much depth and the brightness just couldn't get there. The internet would regularly disconnect on the TV in the middle of programs and you'd have to reconnect. The remote had very poor connectivity. You'd have to be aiming directly at it and couldn't be a distance at all in order for it to work. overall it was okay. I just find it unacceptable that after 18 months I can no longer use the TV. It wouldn't be an issue if TCL had a longer warranty. It's only 1 year so I'm out of their replacement window. Now I've got to buy a new TV, and it's not going to be a TCL.

This TV is awesome! We love it. This is our second one and I have zero regrets

I bought the 55" TCL 4 Series 4K Roku TV in July 2018. I also purchased the 2 year Geek Squad Protection plan. 16 days after my plan expired the TV stopped working. No picture coming through, but sound still works. Black screen of death. Prior to its demise, the TV seemed to work okay. Not great, just okay. It was glitchy and the menu lagged from time to time, but the picture was good for this price level and the built in Roku OS was easy to navigate. I wish the screen was a little brighter though. I called Geek Squad when the TV stopped working and the gentleman told me, "It's probably your motherboard, that happens to these TVs a lot. The repair cost will be more than what you paid for the TV. You're better off just buying a new TV." I feel like purchasing the protection plan was a waste of money and so was the TV. $450 down the drain. TV is dead after only two years and my protection plan I paid extra for didn't help anything. I'm shopping for a new TV now and definitely won't be buying TCL products ever again.

This was a substantial step up from my 42" 1080p Sony. Easy to set up if you have space. Great picture from what I can tell. WATCH OUT if you have existing speakers or surround sound like me. I learned HDMI ARC won't work with my (or any) A/V Receiver's simple HDMI IN/OUT, so I had to buy an optical cable. Then I discovered the Roku remote won't control volume if you're using optical. Lame. Now I still need two different remotes. Lost a star.

This TCL TV never had a very good picture, pretty much washed out but then again, it was on the lower scale price wise. Not sure if they even sell these models anymore. It also had issues with freezing on startup (It was wired gigabit ethernet) and loading apps. I did run a Roku Ultra via HDMI for a better picture. It was only used in my bedroom and for probably 30 minutes every few days. Few days ago went to plug it in and I was able to fingerpaint in multiple colors all over the screen which appeared to have a bullseye crack in it. Very strange but tech said it's probably the panel, and it's not worth fixing. It's at the dump now. Thanks TCL!

I bought the new Vizio M8 55 inch and while it's a great TV, it was $600. This was $279 and it has Roku built in. GET OUTTA HERE! Basically the same picture for the casual viewer. Those who can tell a difference, good for you. Get this TV. You will NOT be disappointed!

The tv just stopped working one day. No picture at all on the screen. No matter how much we tried to reset it, it doesn’t work.

Backlight burnt out. Only 4 years old. Disappointing.

This TV rocks you are able to control the volume and are able to use some of the apps and the picture quality is good .
