good picture, good price, but its a hassle to own

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the tv has a great picture, but has sound and oepration issues. the unit freezes and self resets, this has happen on HULU, Netflix, Amazon, Max etc. more than 5 times a week the sound goes out completely and the TV must be unplugged to get sound back, just turning it off doesnt work. on 4 occassions since april the speakers randomly emit a loud distorted buzz that cannt be turned down with the remote, and agin the tv has to be hard reset.

TV Roku

Wanted one with Roku included for ease of use for end user. Sound could be better. Will probably look into adding a sound bar. Great picture and hope it lasts longer than the LG, couldn’t risk spending the $ on their product again.

Great tv, but screen is a space heater

The tv doesn't auto off with devices like my Vizio does and the screen emits so much heat that i can feel it when i walk by

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very disappointed I got home to having a broken screen took tv back it was replaced got home to no power cable or remote so I went back and was told that they watched video and seen remote put in the box yeah it was the broken tvs remote after all that I bought some screws for the feet and a remote and the tv itself has an amazing picture I’ve watched a few movies in 4k on it and even played for a horizon 5 on Xbox series x on it and for a cheaper 4k tv it’s really quite good of course I’ve always preferred Samsung tvs but I can’t afford them anymore so I’ll take tcl in fact I now have 2 tcl 4k tvs and I’m happy with them

Great tech with error prone performance

Out of the box, the set worked great. However, after about a week, the display would shut off after a few seconds. I exchanged it for the same model. This set also worked well for a week and then had two problems. At first, it had an issue with the display going black. However, the set also had an issue with the HDMI ARC port. It would play sound over the sound bar for two seconds and shut off. I had other TCL sets in the house working fine and tested the sound bar and cables on those TVs. The issue was specific to the new one. I called TCL support before returning it. They were very responsive but could not identify the cause of the issues. In the end, they suggested I return the set. I spoke with a home theater salesperson and explained what happened. He said that poor performance would not be uncommon when buying a budget set, regardless of the underlying tech. The sales rep suggested I look at the LG QNED sets instead. They are a couple hundred dollars more than the TLC but, in the sales rep's opinion, are much more dependable and durable. After they pick up the second set, I'll be looking at LG.

Good first tv. But…

Overall satisfied.

Sometimes it even freeze and go black for a 5 seconds.
