    Freezes too much and Reboots constantly

    overall the TV was working Fine, its been 6 months and problems are getting worse. the tv Freezes a-lot and reboots from time to time, I though it was a firmware problem but the TV updated recently, now everyday watching or playing Xbox the Tv Freezes even more. Its a pain, I really though that it was a great buy but unfortunately it wasn't. I really don't recommend it. I'm trying to find a way to fix it or have it replace if that is even an option !! Uploading Pictures is not working and videos are too large for to upload them.

    Not for hearing impared, live tv pause is worthles

    I bought this tv after having a Roku for years. The CC does not function when the live TV pause is on. You have to go to settings and turn on the live tv pause function every time you change the channel. The live tv pause function does not show screenshots when in rewind or FF so you never know where you are. For the hearing impared the live tv pause function on my old ROku worked great and let me actually enjoy TV as I could use CC and rewind when I missed something. This new TV is not for the disabled and the interface with the live tv function is absurd, requiring one to go into settings, etc, every time. THere should be a warning on the box!

    The TV'S OS is unusably slow. So much so that you might as well buy a roku stick as well and just use that. Aps wont even load shows sometimes and its not a wifi issue

    Restarting every couple of hours.

    Very disappointed, I used to like TCL but I'll never buy another one. I've factory reset 4 times and updated everything each time but it's still doing the same thing after 4 months. I just wish I had gotten a Hisense.

    Stick with an LG if you're looking for Budget TVs

    I had heard and expected good things from the series 5 but dude stick with LG for Budget TVs this one is freaking too hard to calibrate to get it to look good and it's still just it's either too bright or too dark or two colorful.

    Questionable best buy selling practice.

    Though the TV is great, the 1 star for questionable best buy selling practice. I purchased the TV from best buy with Black Friday price match guarantee 2 weeks back, which was shown on best buy site home page. Now the price of the TV is reduced for black Friday deals and best buy stopped price match from 19th to 30th Nov, 2021 and refusing to price match. After 30th, the deals will be gone and the the tv will automatically not be eligible for price match. Customer support is asking to return the TV and order again which is not an easy task for a 55 inch TV. So basically 2 weeks back the black friday price match guarantee program by best buy is just a lie.

    Poor software, don't get the Google tv version

    The panel itself is nice. The software is terrible I got this TV back in January and it's restarting in the middle of movies and freezing whenever I cast.

    It worked well for 7 months and black screened out on me. Reached out to TCL customer support since its still under manufacturer warranty. Working with them. Will post the resolution.

    Open Box T.V.

    I know that I purchased an open box, but there was no electric cord to plug it into the outlet, no T.V. stand, no remote. My first and last time I buy open box

    DONT BUY WITHOUT A WARRANTY.

    Would not recommend. The TV frequently blacks out and turns off on its on. So far, hard resetting the TV the problem but it is reoccurring. I’m not optimistic.

    Toxic Smell

    I bought two of these and the toxic smell never goes away. I originally put it in my kids room and very disappointingly had to put them in the garage. Do not buy this and beware of cheap toxic TVs. Thanks Best Buy and TCL for selling toxic tvs to your customers. It’s all about the money to you guys apparently. I am still shocked how toxic these TVs are and you are still allowed to sell them.

    Defective TV

    Ordered one in black friday deal and found a significant lag between audio and video, went for a return and found no stock. Waited for 3 more days and found one store with one piece but unfortunately they sold me open box. Definitely not recommended!! Poor customer service as well.

    Absolutely trash for sports

    Bought in April, did everything in my power once football started to make watching a game a remotely enjoyable experience and this TV is just trash for sports. Even my cheaper, smaller lower quality TV has a MUCH better picture then this for football. Wasted my money. Just garbage.
