Excellent TV

Nice tv for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The tv needed updating out of the box but being an older model that was expected. It has good picture quality a step below lg, samsung and sony.sound was adequate with the tv speaker not tinny. Like the google voice assistant makes the tv easy to operate. Loads of content on the tv with the apps already on it. If you want a midrange tv for a fair price then this maybe the tv for you.

This is a decent smart TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great TV for the price. However, this TV is slow to turn on , and the software on it has a lot of lag. The quality of the TV is great and I recommend using it with a Roku or Firestick if you're bothered by the lag. Also, some of the apps have issues loading at time.

Good Picture, absolute garbage google interface
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV picture is good; but this is not a smart tv, works great if you buy a ROKU with it. The google software is like windows millenium/first celeron processor. It can't process anything fast. It takes like 3 min to load when turning on.

best tv for the price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.very good picture, bright with good detail. downside of this technology is very limited viewing angle. 10 year old sony was much better for wide viewing angle without losing picture quality.

Picture quality is amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Blown away by the picture quality. I'm not experiencing the issues with Google TV that others are, but it's definitely slower than my other TV with a Chromecast w/ Google TV hdmi dongle.

Amazing deal for $199 sale
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had a ton of TVs over the years. For $199 on Black Friday this takes the cake. This is far and away the best Black Friday TV under $300. Graphics are so good with the QLED

Either buggy or completely broken…
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure if my unit is defective, but I’ve had nothing but problems with it from the moment I started using it (Note that I got an open box unit. It didn’t include the necessary screws for the stand). For starters, the Google TV interface is completely broken. I could not log into Disney+ for the longest time. The whole interface is laggy. It needs a desperate improvement. The worst part of this is that it crashes extremely frequently- as often as 10 mjnutes or as rarely as one hour. Thankfully, you can tirn off Google TV’s smart interface altogether. I did this and plugged in my PS4 as my media player and rhats worked fine. Wtill, i would have liked to have a smart interfacw built into my TV that worked. The most recent issue from this TV is that the brightness is stuck at 25% and it wont let me change it. Everything i watch now is extremely dark. Im sure there will be a new problem that pops up tomorrow. Other than these issues, the screen is beautiful and the sound is decent. I’d recommend looking into the Roku counterpart, as I’m sure it’s less buggy.

It's more expensive, yet worse than TCL 4-series
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV on sale for $379 to replace my roommate's TV (a TCL 4-series that cost him $329) since he's moving out in a few weeks. We have them both side by right now and we both agree that the 4-series, while a cheaper and less advanced model, is better. Here's what I think the this TV does worse than the 4-series: - It has worse viewing angles than the 4-series. With this TV, moving even a few steps off center makes the picture look washed out. At extreme angles, the entire picture essentially becomes black and white. On the 4-series, there is some loss of brightness and maybe some change in colors at far angles but the picture really mostly stays the same. - The speakers on this TV are worse than the 4-series. My roommate's TV has a fuller sound, while this one has almost no bass. I would need to buy a soundbar if I was going to keep this TV, which would significantly increase the price I paid in the end. - The Google TV OS is way worse than the Roku TV OS. There's considerable lag when navigating the main menu, apps take 15-20 seconds to load, and it's buggy. I would buy some kind of smart TV stick (Roku stick or Fire Stick) if I wanted to keep this TV, which would increase its price by around $30. A few positives, for the sake of fairness: + This TV is brighter than the 4-series and arguably has better colors when viewed straight on. + The inclusion of VRR (I haven't tested it on this TV, so I don't know if it actually works) is a benefit if you're going to use the TV for gaming. Overall, I'm disappointed with this TV. I thought that replacing a TCL 4-series with a 5-series would be an upgrade, but it certainly wasn't. For less money, you can get a better panel and a better OS if you opt for the 4-series Roku TV rather than this 5-series Google TV - and that's exactly what I'll be doing.
