Great TV and monitor if you don't need AirPlay.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Big and excellent for the price. I use it primarily as a huge monitor for work and gaming. Google TV is very intuitive and much easier to sign into than Roku. Unfortunately, Google TV does not accept Airplay, which seems ridiculous in 2024. It does work perfectly with Google's Pixel earbuds.

Good picture quality, super slow OS
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Three things to know about this TV 1. OS is slow slow slow. Like old android phones, it has slowed down so much just 18 months after purchase. 2. Picture quality is amazing for 4k content. Any picture less than 1080p is upscaled and those are quite bad. You can see a lot of graining when watching from closer range. Feels like a cheap TV (which this is?) 3. Intermittent issues. Homepage doesn't show up sometimes, restarts by itself the odd time but this wouldn't make me mad until it happens more frequently. Summary - excellent picture quality for 4k content and even 1080p. However, OS is frustratingly slow and I would avoid because of that, unless you prefer to have a fire stick or something like that.

Budget Dreams come true.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This os the SECOND 55S546 TCL TV I have bought. It had rave reviews from it's initial offering in 2021. It was praised as the BEST TV for under $500 in 2022 comparing it to TV's as expensive as $800-$900. Quantum TV channel on YouTube has excellent out of the box adjustments to make to it to get great color and contrast. Don't miss out on this jewel of a TV. It is on clearance so you may have to travel to pick one up. I drove 2½ hours one way for mine and have NO REGRETS. Jump on rhis deal immediately quantities are limited.

Great for the value
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture quality is great for how much the TV costs. It's not an OLED panel so keep that in mind when using at certain viewing angles. I use it for gaming and watching Netflix and this TV is perfect for that without breaking the bank. Brightness and color re-production is great on this panel. The speakers are terrible, but most TV speakers are like that. Using the built in speakers I have to adjust the audio for movies/TV shows to hear dialog. When gaming I do not need to adjust volume for dialog. Plan to buy different speakers. I am docking a star for this but just keep in mind that most TV speakers are average at best so not a big deal here. For <$400 you can't do much better in my opinion. If you're looking to spend >$700 I would just get the LG OLED TV.

Even at $200, not worth it, maybe $100.
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well, but processor or whatever sucks! Delays, glitchy, picture quality not good enough for a TCL 5-series. Picture can be good, but picture settings cant keep up with the picture coming in. Remote and inputs work, but easily cant keep up. Screen will quickly start to go dark, and then slowly continues to get so dark you cant see anything. Every time I do some sort of reset it temporarily resolves the issue, but then creates a new issue of waiting a day or so for things to load back up and begin running at capacity, but the the delays, glitching, and poor picture quality comes back.

Great TV and value for Money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the TCL Google TV during Black Friday sale and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. The setup was easy, and the user interface is user-friendly and intuitive. The picture quality is excellent and the sound quality is acceptable. One of the things I love most about the TCL Google TV is the built-in Google Assistant feature. This allows me to easily search for and find the content I want to watch, as well as control my smart home devices. The voice recognition is accurate and makes the whole experience feel seamless. However the Google Assistant on TV is slightly different from the Google Home device that I use. But it is acceptable. The Google TV platform on this TV comes with its inherent benefits and features like integration with my multiple streaming services, such as Netflix and Hulu. Casting from phone to the TV is very convenient. The TCL Google TV makes it easy to switch between different platforms and the picture quality remains consistent no matter what I'm watching.. Overall, I highly recommend this TCL Google TV. It offers a great value for the price and the features are up to mark.

Beautiful picture, stunning price
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a steal for a 4k tv, 55 inch for a price of $199 on black friday. I think the usual price of this is $429 or something like that, so I felt really great with how much I saved on this at Christmas. Thanks to best buy, we have the perfect tv to game on and the picture quality is wonderful - you can't go wrong with a smart tv, eliminates so much hassle to have all your google apps available on one screen, no extra connections needed.

Good purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first tv purchase on my own and I’m really happy with it for the price. The color and images are very clear. Sometimes I need to restart the tv in order for it to run properly but that’s rare

Review: I recently got the TCL 55" Class 5-Series QLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV, and let me tell you, it's amazing! The picture quality is super clear and the colors are so vibrant. Whether I'm watching movies or playing games, everything looks incredible on this TV. The smart features are really cool too. It's easy to use and has all the apps and streaming services I need. Plus, the voice control with Google Assistant is a game-changer. I can just talk to the TV and it listens to me! The TV has lots of ports to connect all my gadgets, like my game console and Blu-ray player. It also has Wi-Fi, so I can stream stuff without any problems. The only thing I wish it had was the option to mirror my iPhone screen. It would be awesome to see my photos and videos on the big screen. The TV itself looks great too. It's sleek and fits nicely in my living room. The remote control is easy to use and has all the buttons I need. Overall, I love the TCL 55" Class 5-Series QLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV. It's made my movie nights and gaming sessions so much more fun. Even though it doesn't have iPhone screen mirroring, I still think it's an excellent TV for the price. If you want an awesome TV that gives you a fantastic viewing experience, I highly recommend this one!

Amazing price to performance.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm amazed by this tvs quality for the price I was able to get it for($200). It beats my friends newer model year $500 tv in just about every way. After changing some setting it has great blacks, great contrast, and vibrant colors. It does have a couple flaws. When on a dark grey or pure black screen it has dirty screen effect and if you end up using the tv with the android tv software it will slow down after about a week of using it to the point it would take upward of a minute to turn on and need to be restarted in the software or unplugged and plugged back in. Fortunately I have a fire cube so I don't use the android tv portion or by now I would have ranked it lower. I can't get over the price to performance this tv offers. Side note I never used this tv with it's built in speakers.

Good for what it is.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you came from an aging Sony Bravia that they planned for obsolescence by updating the software to deliberately brick it from 2016 worth 800 dollars at the time and can't repair it because it boot loops because of this planned obsolescence, this TV will make you happy. It's nearly identical technology from 2016 at a fair price. I got mine at 199.99 for the black Friday deal. Throw on a protection plan for 5 years, and don't buy another Sony, because they rake you over the coals with planned obsolescence. Maybe I will consider TCL in the future. At least they're nice to you.

Good Tv with some issues...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a good maybe even great Tv with some issues.... Out of the box it's just ok not great..... the colors are a bit off and like others have said the OS ( google TV which is really android TV) is kinda slow..... HOWEVER you can easily adjust the color setting to get it decent without too much work... As for the OS well while you can't make the hardware any better... You can disable many of the apps in running in the background... Once you do... The OS is zippy enough to run without compliant... Overall it's a great TV once you get everything set up... It's fast ,tons of apps good picture...... It's just outta box experience isn't the best..

Qled is better than i expected
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually expect most marketing gimmicks to be just that, nothing but something to slap on the box that means nothing. The QLED tech is actually really nice, local dimming zones lead to wayyy better black levels than a global backlight. Color range is much higher than my previous television and the brightness levels are great with HDR as well.

Better quality than cheaper brands.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great tv for the price. My last tvs were Hisense brand and both failed within 2 and 3 years respectively. Hopefully as ive been advised, this is of much greater quality because at the rate my last ones failed, they are of very limited use and the price originally spent plus the replacement cost is far more than a good one like this to begin with.

Liked it better than Sony XBR55-X90J
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this TCL for the $200 deal in December and for that price it's 6 stars but even at regular price it's a great tv for me and what I watch (mainly DTV and lots of sports) I had got a Sony XBR-55X90J for $699 on a deal of day deal last fall and I just didn't like it for HD channels, 4k looked great and better than the TCL but not by a lot and I don't watch much 4k so that doesn't matter a lot to me now. I know nobody will believe it but again I liked this TCL picture better than the Sony and the TCL is about 95% as good as my 50" Panasonic Plasma I still use but this TCL replaced it in my small living room. One area where the Sony kicks the TCL but is with HDMI handshake and arc, earc ..no matter what I try I can't get the handshake to work at all but with the Sony it worked perfectly. I use a ROKU player for streaming as that's what I prefer over Google. I sit about 7 feet from the TV and NFL games looks great on it and haven't seen any blur but there is a little DSE but I can live with it and have never found it distracting in any way. 5 stars for sure but will see how long it lasts with TCL QC.

Good screen, eh OS
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen is great, a huge upgrade from my old HD TV. However the software is a bit buggy—the Home Screen search is a good idea but doesn’t actually work well across streaming platforms, and the built-in Google Home sometimes activates when the movies I’m watching say “Ok —-“ when it doesn’t even sound like Google. That causes the whole thing to pause which is annoying. I got it for $200 during Black Friday so I can’t complain for the price. At its MSRP I would maybe look for a Roku TV instead.
