Good budget tv some problems and
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good budget tv, has great picture quality and can run at 60 hertz which is a huge plus for me. One complaint is the cpu is too slow when paired with the google tv OS. You can really feel it chugging along when navigating through apps and the through the OS. There’s a weird bug that happens where sometimes maybe 20%-30% of the time the display wont turn on when i press the power button but the lights indicate the tv is on and i have to spam the power button till it turns off, when i turn it back on it works as usal.

Great picture, terrible sound
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this for the Black Friday sale price to replace my smaller 2019 5 Series (43S525). Overall, it has a great picture and brighter than the old one. However, the biggest Achilles heel is the speaker quality. Compared to the 43S525 and my 2019 6 Series (55R625), the speakers on the 55S546 are atrocious. Nothing sounds natural, bass sections cut the volume giving you a “wobble” effect while listening to parts that alternate from bass heavy to parts with vocals, the different sound modes offer you a tinny canned sound or a boomy sound stuffed in a small box that’s thrown somewhere behind the TV in a random location. I just can’t believe how much worse it is than my 2019 TCL TV’s (Roku OS), of which I’ve used only the TV speakers on and had no desire to get a sound bar or other system. So please consider the cost of a sound bar ($60-$150 minimum) AND an external streaming box to make this TV worthwhile. At that point, if you’re looking at this TV at the 300+ price range, you’re almost better off just getting a different TV (like a 6 series, or maybe the Roku 5 series?). I have the Apple TV 4K boxes and have used the FireTV 4K sticks for a few years. The Android OS on this TV is very slow. I never planned on using it anyway since the Apple TV is so much better, so I would highly recommend that when you first boot this up, you go ahead and connect it to the internet, do the system update(s) then factory reset it and click the option that lets you set it up without internet and without the Android OS.

Best smart TV so far
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This QLED smart TV impresses with its 4K UHD resolution and HDR support, offering vivid colors and deep contrasts for an immersive viewing experience. The built-in speakers deliver clear, dynamic sound, though external audio systems are recommended for audiophiles. It features a user-friendly interface with easy access to streaming services and apps, plus voice control for convenience. The sleek, modern design with thin bezels provides an almost edge-to-edge display that fits well in any room. Ample connectivity options, including HDMI, USB, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, ensure easy integration with other devices.

Pretty good value
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture is amazingly clear and bright. The qled is a definitely upgrade from the normal 4k TCL tv that we had. The menus aren't as easy as some tv(ie switching inputs). The tv can be very slow to react to remote input (Delayed), I later found some reviews that say the same thing. Overall for the money I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Hopefully an update later will take some of the lag out of the tv.

Great value
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this on Black Friday. Picture quality and features are an upgrade from my previous TCL 4-series. Looks pretty good. Not close to OLED or higher-end TV's, but more than good enough for my second bedroom. Google TV has been operating fine with no issues

TCL 55" 5-Series Google TV
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is a top quality contender in the budget market. It features HDR Pro and Dolby Vision and offers a variable refresh rate that makes motion smooth and seamless when playing in game mode. A machine learning algorithm controls brightness and does an excellent job to perfect the brightness to match the environment. In other reviews people had criticized the sound quality however I think it is quite good but like most TVs would benefit being connected to a good quality sound system. The Google TV operating system is very user friendly and features a voice command option that is able to control not only the TV but other home electronics as well. The value of this TCL TV is unmatched for the price point. I highly recommend this product.

Good TV for cheap
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture is nice, a good upgrade from my previous TV. I like the brightness zones and they seem to help with a sharper picture. Google TV worked well at first but I eventually switched to an Apple TV for better app features and because of slowness. The only issue I have had is sometimes the TV will turn on but will not display an image. This is always resolved by turning it off and back on again.

||Posted . Good TV , would buy again
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV for the price! We’ve had it two years now and have only experienced screen issues twice. We had 1 occasion where the screen was completely black and would not respond but unplugging it and making sure all software was up to date fixed the issue the next day. Again, for the price it’s been a great TV and the picture and sound is very clear!

Good TV except sound quality and features
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very nice TV from all aspects except sound quality. The picture quality is bright and vibrant, with deep colors and it also supports Dolby Vision. Google TV is good as always. One downside I have found is that this TV still outputs sound even though a sound bar is connected to it via optical cable. So, the only option to stop the TV sound also playing along with the soundbar sound is to lower the TV volume all the way to zero, very annoying.
