Great TV, Great Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture. Easy to set up. Sound is pretty good but I added a Roku Soundbar. Great TV for the money. I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would not have considered a TCL TV had I not been impressed with my sister's TCL TV. After doing some research I found out that they bought the rights to use Samsung's panel technology, which includes QLED. In addition, TCL supports Dolby Vision, which Samsung doesn't because they created the HDR 10 technology, which is in direct competition with Dolby Vision. In my opinion, Dolby Vision is one of the best things about this TV and surprisingly there is a lot of content available. The picture quality when in Dolby Vision mode is outstanding. The sound is much better than what I expected, though I still plan on getting a soundbar.. My only complaint is that the OS is a little slow. It's not horrible, but I've had other TVs that were much quicker.

Still going strong 2-1/2 years later
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the TCL 5 series in the 55" size for my parents 2-1/2 years ago as an upgrade from their 10-year-old 42" LG TV. My parents are retired and are into their elderly years, so believe me when I say that this TV gets A LOT of use. They literally have it on from the time they get up in the morning until they go to bed at night. I know that a lot of people wonder about the longevity of this TV and I can happily say that after 2-1/2 years of very heavy, regular use, my parents' TCL 5 series TV is still going strong and the picture looks amazing. They do have cable, but they also LOVE the built-in Roku interface and use it all the time for Netflix, Hulu, and various other apps. The sound quality on this TV is fairly decent, but along with this TV, I also purchased a Samsung sound bar with a subwoofer, so my parents have always used that as their audio source for this TV. If you are looking for a great TV with a lower price tag that is packed with tons of premium features and a beautiful picture, look no further than the TCL 5 Series.

Best bang for your buck
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After doing extensive research i found the class 5 TCL to be the best value for the price (especially if you can find an open-box discount like i did). Very easy to use, great picture, fast, good sound. One month in, and everything is great.

Looks and sounds great; enjoy the Roku interface
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've been pleased with this purchase. Picture looks great. Sounds great. Setup was easy (interesting packaging that allows you to essentially lift it out of the box, which doesn't have a bottom). Love having the built-in Roku interface (this is last year's model; I'm sure they've upgraded the Roku on the latest one). It's a beast of a TV but not in the way the old front-heavy picture tube models were. Just takes up a lot of space (turns out our hearth was the perfect size and place for it). I had frankly never heard of TCL before I started researching TVs and read all the positive ratings but it seems like a good company and a quality product. Hope it lasts a long time.

Love this TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this TV! And for the price you cannot beat it! I understand that there are many other high-end TVs out there before the money I paid for this one, this has everything I can possibly ask for not a single complaint at all! Everything is just as good as a more expensive high-end brand……. I am very happy with my purchase. TCL makes some very high-quality low in value televisions! Trust me you will not be disappointed with this TV. And video games also look great on it as well and it Is huge? It looks much bigger than a 55!

Pleased with outcome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced our 47" LG from 7 years ago (1080p) with this 4k roku QLED version. We wall mounted it (no problem). Moved the LG into a different room. This tv works well and, compared to our 1080p, has gorgeous graphics. We wanted it for the built-in roku capability (the prior model used a roku stick, which worked fine). We've had it for about two months now and haven't had any problems. We are using wifi from about 20 feet away and have had not issues.

A Great Balance of QLED Performance and Economy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Note: This might not appear as a verified purchase as I don't use a Yahoo login for big-ticket purchases. It was decided to replace the 2011 46" Samsung flat screen and move it to master bedroom where it will replace the 2005 32" 150 lb. Samsung CRT. Spending at least about $1200 for an entry level OLED TV was not a consideration. Nor was a previous generation panel, so QLED was it. After a month-long research binge, the choice was the TCL 55S535. Released in early August, 2020, initial reviews reported variations in QLED panel quality from one unit to the next. After six months TCL seems to have resolved that issue. Or I won the variance lottery with the 55S535 I brought home on Presidents Day. Search on YouTube for "OLED demo" and "OLED tests" (yes, OLED) and view some of the videos to reveal how nice are the TCL 5 Series. Do the same for "Dolby ATMOS" if you have a sound bar or use an AVR and good speakers. (As is for all flat screen TVs since the beginning of time, the built in dinky little speakers are dinky little speakers.) Being a Roku, the remote is what it is. Fortunately, Logitech supports TCL and I successfully set up my 650 remote. Traditional form factor remotes, Roku TV ready or learnable, saturate the market and can cost as low as $15. Initial setup screens are nicely laid out, logically progressive and intuitive. Display settings cover all the bases with a wide range of adjustments and modes. You will be able to tweak to your liking if the defaults don't satisfy. Where the set doesn't shine is in brightness, falling below what is expected in its class, while other display characteristics meet or exceed expectations. Your viewing will suffer when in a brightly lit room 100% of the time. Coming in under $500, the 55" set is well worth it.

Very bad viewing angle
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TCL 5 Series tv isn't all that great unless you view it head on. The colts are great viewing straight in front of it. But when you get at a 45 degree angle the colts washout BIG TIME. The sound is good on the set. It's easy to setup. But for viewing I would not recommend this set.

Posted .Hi Jackson,
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. There are options available to adjust the settings to better fit your personal preference. You can access the Options menu on the TV by pressing the asterisk (*) button on your remote while watching content. Additionally, you can access expert picture settings by downloading the free Roku mobile app on a smartphone or tablet. The Roku mobile app works as a remote and allows you to access additional features like voice search, private listening, expert picture settings, and more. Hope this helps & happy viewing!
Thank you,
Sara

Great buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got rid of cable and satellite. TCL 55in is great. Built in Roku is what I needed. The speaking remote is cool too. The price was so good I gave it a try. Love it. I’m putting TCL tv in all the rooms in my house. You might have to purchase the voice remote separate.

Great TV for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was in the market for a 65 inch tv to replace an older LG TV. I was drawn to this after reviewing the specs. I also had a need for the stand width to fit on my 44 inch wide tv stand. The tv has mounting options for the end or the center of tv length the for the legs. It has cable management in the legs to route cables also. I was pleased with the contrast compared to my old tv. I re watched a episode of Game of Thrones that was filmed at night and it was like watching a completely different filming. The textures and colors where visible that I had missed before. The local dimming zones must make a difference. So far I have been very pleased This might be as good as last years model 6 that had excellent reviews.
