I recently purchased this tv because of the three reviews that I read researching "best tvs for 2021. The three different websites that I went to all agreed that this was the best tv for the money. I can't tell you what the more expensive ones look like, but I am entirely happy with the way this looks. I was watching one show on Netflix and was distracted because the actors face was so detailed I could see all of his pores. I had to rewind to read the subtitles. Lol! The picture looks great! My only complaint was the remote control. It was not very responsive. Most of the time I would have to hit a button 3 times before the tv responded, and at night the tv would turn on and off all by itself. I had to remove the batteries at night I contacted TCL customer service and they walked me though some steps with the tv and remote control, and I am extremely happy to say, "it worked!" My remote is now super responsive and does not turn on by itself. I probably am at fault myself for not reading the instructions beforehand. Nonetheless, I had a problem and TCL customer service handled it promptly. I have no other complaint, and so I am giving 5 stars because I am so happy I made this purchase. I hope anyone reading this has the same positive results. I watch a lot of tv but by no means am I an expert. There may be way better tvs out there but I am happy with the price I paid for this one.

Can’t say enough good things about this. Picture quality is phenomenal but I’m also using this as an upgrade from a 7 year old lcd, so anything newer is an improvement. Sound quality not bad but still needs a soy bar. Using primarily for game and have been happy so far. HDR has been amazing. Videos colors . Great tv for the buck

Picture color and quality is amazing. Side view is great. Sound is ok, but not phenomenal. Remote is very inferior. TV supposedly can be voice controlled, but in order to do so, you need to hold down a button on the remote while speaking. Not my idea of "voice" control. Instructions say it sets up in minutes, but oh no it doesn't.

We had Roku devices with all of our TV's in the house prior to buying the TCL w/ Roku. Love the Roku format and read great reviews about this TV online. Very pleased with the whole setup and picture quality of this TV. The integrated Roku makes it so convenient. Plus I am so happy with how affordable it is. I was looking for a TV with the Roku format and I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase!

I give this 5 stars not because it's the best TV out there, but because it is definitely the best bang for your buck! Amazing quality picture and features at a fraction of the price of comparable units. Add a good soundbar and you have a real quality viewing experience for far less than what you would expect from other brands. I highly recommend!

Great picture. Did have issues getting it to pick up a wifi signal. Also the remote is IR. If it of not 90 degrees directly pointed at the TV. Will not work. Geek Squad figured there was an issue with an internal antenna and they was why it wouldn't pick up a wifi signal. So I brought it back for 65" version. Love it now.

I bought this tv to put in my office to play the new ps5 on. The color pops and was fairly easy to set up. It runs games really smooth with the vrr and looks great hanging on the wall. I would recommend this as a gaming tv. The only downfall to this tv is that it is a Roku system. The system runs fine but I found it a little difficult to set up at first compared to my Samsung TVs.

This TV is a steal for the price and what you get. The new tech is similar to the more expensive Samsung q80. Even one the techs at Bestbuy was shock by what this TV has to offer. The picture is amazing and is sharper than some of the other brands. The Roku built in is a great. A very simple remote that covers most if not all demands. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

The TV lives up to the reviews, it's looks amazing, sounds great, and it's easy to use, adjust, set up. Had a glitching/blinking issue with it a few days in, emailed TCL, and got a reply with a simple fix the next day-which worked. Perfect since then. Very happy.

This is an excellent tv The picture has bright lifelike color and dark blacks. Hdr programs are spectacular. The smart tv roku interface responds quickly and is convenient because everything is integrated into one menu. I cant rate the sound quality because i use an external amp and speakers. I can say i have seen no issues with syncronization between the picture and sound.

When sitting within the 'sweet spot' viewing angle, this has a beautiful picture. At angles, the contrast plummets but this is typical of these displays. Initial setup was easy and there was a software update once it was connected to our wifi. No issues for two days of viewing. On the third day, the status indicator light was flashing and the TV wouldn't turn on. While on hold for support, it did turn on and seemed to be fine so we chalked it up to it undergoing another update at the time. Next day, same thing but didn't come back to life until hitting the factory reset. Once it came back, I enabled "instant-on" in the power menu and there have been no issues since then. I highly recommend turning off the motion/action smoothing items in the picture adjustment menu, unless you like everything looking like cheap soap operas. I also had to tweak the brightness, contrast, and backlight settings to make the picture look its best. There is an audio sync problem when I play certain DVDs and take the audio from the tv via optical to my 5.1 stereo. Only on some dvds not all so it's a bit of a mystery. Would have been 5 stars except for these annoyances.

This is an outstanding TV. I understand now why so many people rave about this set. It can't be beat for the price. Feature rich, with 120Hz refresh, VRR for gaming, which were the 2 features not found on any set this low priced, They both work great. This replaces a 43" LG Smart Tv, and I am surprised at how much more Screen I got by this. I love it.

I like it. I’ll update this review as time goes on, but for now it’s easy to use, looks nice across multiple streaming services and game consoles and is a good price for the quality of picture you’re getting. Should work well with the Series X.

The thx certification on this tv is legit. Reminds me of watching a movie in IMAX when watching the mandalorian. Great for gaming, makes doom eternal look like a vivid lucid dream. Only issues I've had is the sound will weirdly go full blast and you'll have to unplug it to reset it. Has a faint plastic chemical/electronics smell for first few weeks but it goes away.

I had a year old much smaller TCL Roku TV for the guest room and loved the simplicity. When it came to upgrade the media room to 4K, the simplicity won me over. Using ARC, it is one button to turn the TV on and have it turn on my AV receiver with immediate surround sound. Volume control on TCL remote controls the sound. This is replacing one of the last gas plasmas. Initially it was too bright compared to the old TV but then after reading some reviews it was pointed out that it was probably set to show room settings. That was it and I toned it down to home theater settings. The one minus is that occasionally you have to do a full reboot on the TV (unplug it) if it gets confused ARCing with the receiver. I also bought this as an out of box special. It appears that the mounts on the back are designed for both sizes of bolts but they will only work a couple of times at best for older larger bolts. The plastic strips out. Apparently it had been mounted at the store for display and two of the bolt holes were stripped and useless for my old mounting bracket. Ended up drilling out the 4 mounting holes and using drywall anchors to give the bracket something to grab onto. Works for now. Next 7.0 Earthquake it probably fail.

Pleasantly surprised how clear the 55" is. My last TCL tv was a 65" (60hz) (garage) and my current purchase (bedroom) 55" (120hz) were both purchased because of the ROKU app on each tv. Great price for the 55" and it has a high speed WiFi on it as well. 3 months later, I am still very happy.

Amazing TV, Easy Adjustments, Great Quality

The quality of the TV is amazing! I barely turn up the volume and can easily hear it. This TV has given me no issues so far. I made a few picture adjustments and, it's exactly where I like it! For the ones that don't like the ghosting? Enter into an app and start up a TV show or Movie. Once your video has started, click on the asterisk button (*). Go to picture settings and cut off action smoothing and action clarity. In this area you can also change your picture mode, local contrast, brightness, tint, etc. There is also a TV brightness setting if you wanted to increase or decrease the pictures lighting. There are youtube videos out there that will help you change the settings to what they recommend. I've watched some videos and I chose to go on my own route. I prefer the picture to be set on low power or normal, then cut off smoothing and action clarity. It's very simple and very effective. As for the sound, I don't use any soundbars. I listen to everything through the TV. I'm about 10 feet and can easily hear it. Furthermore, I have the TV's audio set to Theater mode. The volume is only set between 13-15 and can easily hear it. Hopefully I've helped a little?

The menus are a breeze to navigate and the picture, relative to the price, is amazing. This is my bedroom TV with a LG C8 OLED in our living room. While this TV clearly doesn't match the quality in picture, I prefer the OS and the price is just too good to ignore. Unless you're set on the best of the best, this is an excellent choice for 95% of consumers.
