For GAMING, MOVIES, NO SCREEN BURN IN!
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV to pair with my PS5 and Xbox Series X and I’ve had this tv since it launched almost one year ago. The TV picture is amazing (when calibrated) The THX certified game mode is great but not the best. You will have to adjust picture settings to make it look less washed out. Vivid game mode is much better in my opinion. Their is more Pros than Cons but the cons are as follow. If using TV on PC the TV could display 1440p but locks at 30hz (maybe a glitch) since at first it was working and now it doesn’t after firmware update. When gaming on Xbox series X once In a blue moon the TV will restart after your turn on Xbox. (May be fixed with update). Dolby Atmos is ok but I recommend getting a great sound bar or home theater. Also remember this has mini led so when playing a game like rust or any game that that is really dark, you will see some blooming. But it’s very rare! Here are some pros: Dolby Vision Gaming on Xbox Series X Is just wonderful. IT HAS 1440p 120hz for consoles and it’s amazing! It does make it more responsive BUT The TV is more suitable for players who are more into single player games and love the eye candy. The input lag which hovers around 9-10 ms is good but not great when the majority of players use monitors with very minimal input lag. I really love this TV, Although at times I wish I went with an OLED but the screen burn in made me go with the TCL which has zero chances of getting burn in (according to rtings.com)

Excellent Build Quality
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic build quality, love the metal edges and screen. TV feels solid. Fantastic picture, I have an OLED and this looks just as good, the only problem is the viewing angle on this is severely limited which didn’t affect my setup but may others. Giving it 4 stars because the software is not perfect. I paired this with the 9+ Alto soundbar and when I have Dolby Atmos turned on with my Xbox Series X the audio delay is unbearable. Also this TV crashes sometimes when adjusting the volume and restarts itself. Hopefully the patch this.

Great device for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV to replace an older LG TV and wow. For the price, it is an amazing TV. Got this to pair with an Xbox Series X and it has many great features to take advantage of the Xbox's new features such as: 120 Hz refresh rate Dolby Vision as well as standard HDR10 and HLG THX-certified game mode It also looks great watching tv and movies. Great device and highly recommend if you aren't looking to spend an arm and a leg on a new TV.

A Great Value 4K TV with Amazing Performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I discovered this TV by accident: I was wondering when Apple will release a MacBook with an OLED screen since iPhones have had OLED screens for a few generations, but I ended up finding out a rumor that Apple may release a MacBook with a MiniLED screen, a technology that can emulate OLED at a much lower cost. I always wanted an OLED TV since I watch a lot of content in 4K HDR/Dolby vision via both streaming and 4K UHD blu-rays, as my old 4K TV of an earlier generation can't really handle HDR that well; I was craving for the satisfying contrast I would see on my iPhone's OLED screen. I, however, was never sure if I wanted to shell out at least $1,200 for that, and most importantly, since I watch a lot of older TV shows that have an aspect ratio of 4:3 as well as movies in wider screen, I also worry about the burn-in problem of OLED TVs. That's why it didn't took long for me to make the decision to get this miniLED QLED 4K TV, and it didn't disappoint. You can google the explanation of what both MiniLED and QLED technologies are, I'm not gonna elaborate on that here, but the conjunction of the two display technologies has really done a good job of emulating the contrast of an OLED display, especially when you watch shows like Netflix's Our Planet, which is rendered in 4K Dolby Vision: the color is vibrant, and when the picture shows something bright with a dark background, the contrast makes the whole picture looks satisfyingly dramatic, you wouldn't be able to tell that it's not an OLED display. Nevertheless, what I didn't know before getting this TV was that the best thing you could get from it was the visual upgrades when you watch contents in SDR. Yes, even if you already have a good 4K UHD blu-ray collection, you may also want to rewatch some of your favorite blu-rays, because this TV makes them look even better, to the point that SDR looks more like HDR: colors are nicely saturated, the bright is brighter, and the dark is darker. This TV is under $1,000 for a 65", so does it have any weaknesses? Of course. To get the best picture quality, this TV requires quite some tweaking out of the box, but there are a lot of positive video reviews of this TV on YouTube that would teach you just that; I personally followed the instructions included in the video review by Digital Trends and Andrew Robinson. Also, as much as the MiniLED technology can emulate OLED when you watch the TV from a center position, you will see some back light bleeding through if you watch the TV from a side angle, so this TV is meant for an intimate personal viewing setting of no more than 3 people, not for group viewing, but those are just minor issues though in my opinion. I would recommend this TV for not only average TV users, but also all media enthusiasts that care about how their movies/TV shows should look: If you have any doubt about getting an OLED TV, my answer for you now is that you really don't need to anyway.

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I unpacked it this morning. I like the way the box lifts over the TV vs lifting the TV out of the box. Hooked up all cables and power cord. I am running this off of an HTPC with Windows 10. User interfaces are way better than if you use the apps installed on the TV for all of your streaming services. The set up was super simple and fast. If you have already used ROKU you have a leg up on operating this TV. The ROKU user interface is the easiest I have ever used. I used my Chromebook to sign into my ROKU account and enter the set up code they provide. After that, ran the updates and was all set. The picture and sound quality are superb. There are many recommendations on Youtube for settings for this model, but I just kept trying different sound and picture settings until I was happy with it. Right now I am watching The Expanse on Prime Video and the picture and sound are awsome. In spite of how good the speakers are on this TV, I just ordered a pair of Edifier S2000 Mark III speakers to round out the great picture of this TV. Why?, because I could. This is the fourth new TV I bought in the last month and a half. Took the rest of them back. This one is a keeper. Unless your'e J.P. Gotrocks, you would be hard pressed to buy a better TV for the $$$. P.S. Bought it @ Bestbuy.

Great but with some mild issues
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only negative things i have experienced with this tv in the 5 days that i have owned it are: The remote uses batteries FAST! In 5 days it has already zapped the 2 Triple A batteries it came with PLUS 4 other lithium ion Triple A batteries. The tv turns itself on in the middle of the night multiple times, I think it is due to the remote because since i quit putting batteries in the remote it hasnt turned on again. I also think they may have programmed the remote to do that because, right out of the box that remote is flawless! Then the TV does a firmware update and the remote is shot, have to press a button multiple times wile moving remote around in the air to get a signal to go through to the tv and im sitting 8 feet from the TV, up close to the tv either gets worse by having to press the buttons more than 4+ times to get it to work or does not work at all! Having fresh batteries it does this too. Each set of batteries i put in it, ive only used the remote to turn the tv on and cycle between my PC and Nes Switch. I do that twice a day and batteries get zapped in 14 hours!!! Maybe less, i put them in use it a few times and goto sleep and wake up and batteries are dead! **BUT**, there cell phone app that has advertisements on it works flawlessly. Go figure! So as long as there making money on that cell phone app from advertisements there not fixing the tv remote! This TV is VERY bright! it works well in a dark and bright room! Out of the box is a perfect setup to use all i did was change one thing and I think that was local contrast to HIGH. The turning on and off people talk about , I do believe that is an AI issue, i notice when i go from my desktop on my PC To watching movies or to play games it will turn off sometimes and instantly back on i think this is the AI adjusting picture settings for game mode and setting it to 1440 120FPS, I still cannot figure out how to put and keep this tv is 1440 120fps mode. There is no option for my PC To manually set it, so that tells me the TV does it by itself, probably because this tv cannot handle running 120fps non stop because it will probably burn the tv up!! The sound is really good but i use a 5.1 surround sound system on my PC, the Tvs speakers are only used for nintendo switch and they have a great sound! Other than those issues this tv is waaaaay better than my Vizio m55-E0 4k tv.(Vizio turned off one day and never turned back on, it was only 4 years old so im not buying Vizio anymore, hopefully this TCL has won me over!) This tv had no bad smells at all. Will update if any issues come about and if they dont.

Audio Sync issues and Faulty Remote Control
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a few dealbreaking issues with mine and decided to return it. I had persistent audio sync issues with my Soundbar. This is a Soundbar I’ve used on two different other TVs without issues including another TCL. Simple optical output from TV to Soundbar which is the least problematic way of connecting a Soundbar to a TV and yet the sync was off by like a second. I tried every which setting and searched online extensively and could not get it to sync. A bummer as the picture quality was great. TV does need quite a bit of adjustment to get it perfect though out of the box. Colors were quite off. Also my remote control was hot garbage. I had to press each button three or four times to register anything. I ended up using the Rocky remote from my other TCL. So a bit disappointed in quality control here. I ended up getting a Vizio M Series instead and absolutely love the Vizio. The Vizio by default looked pretty great with default settings and required minor tweaks. One thing to note for bedroom placement, TVs with high brightness are all the rage but nightmares for bedrooms. The Vizio is perfect brightness for a bedroom. Plenty to make HDR impressive and notable but not too much where it’s eye searingly bright. The TCL was way too hot for the bedroom. I had to crank down the brightness to reign it in. Also the TCL adjustments menus are pretty basic for pro users.

Great picture
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture is really great but you have to be watching something in 4K to get the full effect. However, the software to navigate options in the settings is not good. There's no manual to explain them -- especially the handling of Favorites in Live TV. And the placement of the mute button on the remote is particularly problematic and frustrating. But all in all I'm pretty happy with the TV.

Good TV with a problem!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture and sound. The remote leaves a lot to be desired. Also, every couple of days I have to pull out the power plug because the picture doesn’t show up in the HDMI 1 square and asking if the power is turned on, which it is. I unplug it, then plug it back in, turn the TV and Cable box back on and it’s OK again, but for how long…it’s frustrating!

TCL 6 55 inch
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TCL 6 series is a great bargain for a TV that supports 120hz refresh rate. I have had the TV for a few weeks now. The picture quality is great. It was a bit too bright out of the box but it was easy to change the brightness. There is no lag when using game mode. The only complaint that I have is that I will occasionally see some lag when watching some TV shows. I mostly noticed it when watching recorded shows on my DVR. Great TV for the price.

Awesome TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture quality... I love the mini led qled display .. vibrant colors and bright .. darks are seemingly perfect. Every detail shows like nothing I ever seen. Makes tv new again. Apps galore to search and download.. free apps.. paid apps.. 4k apps.. Dolby vision really does make a difference and the sound that Dolby dtsx pots out is stunning and immersing. The build quality is solid unlike the 2019 Vizio top of line quantum dot M series which pales in comparison to this TCL.

Best TV for the price
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv has exceeded my expectations. It’s not a dirt cheap TV but it includes many high end features for a lower price compared to others with similar features. Black levels are great and color is pretty accurate. We have a 65 in LG OLED as our primary TV and I don’t feel like I’m missing out on much deciding to watch content on this TV. The roku software has been great as well. It’s extremely easy to use.

Great TV and secondary PC monitor for the price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV performs incredibly for the price! Contrast, brightness ( peak just over 1000nits!) and black levels are all excellent and blooming is kept to a minimum, barely ever noticeable except in scenes with a single very light/bright object surrounded by deep black. Even then it hasn't taken me out of the experience as its barely noticeable on my tv's panel. There is also minor black crush at times but again, at least with the panel I received its barely noticeable at all. I recommend downloading TCL's IPQ Calibration app on your phone, along with the Roku smartphone app for best picture calibration. The IPQ Calibration app does a great job and is easy to use. The Roku app, beyond being an extra virtual remote ( typing in search bars is much easier from the app as it allows you to use your smartphones keyboard) has extra Calibration features that allow for a more manual approach. This TV has also been great as a second monitor for my PC. Gaming works well with it and I'm looking forward to testing some video editing with this TV. Only gripe currently is that the TV doesn't seem to read my pc at true 10 bit color ( which the tv is very capable of ) and is reading at 8 bit dithered, even when connecting at lower resolutions. Its not a big deal for the average consumer, and when taking the price tag into account but if you're looking to use it as a secondary display to test footage your editing and need the most accurate color you can get it is important to note. I should also mention that the built in speakers are surprisingly good. Most TV's in general have mediocre audio quality built in so it was a pleasant surprise. All in all I definitely recommend this TV!

Great TV!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No complaints. I'm sure there are better TV's out there but for the price we're happy. Great picture, great color, super easy to use, and our Alexa easily pauses it or turns it off. I read a billion reviews before buying and settled here, not unhappy. Although....I might have gone one size bigger. The frame is so thin and I think we picked the right size for our room, but, I might recommend going up to 65 inches if you're on the fence.

Hands down the best TV at this price point!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I knew I would eventually need to upgrade to a TV that has all the latest advancements in technology, and that time approached as an LG OLED I've had for 5 years developed burn-in. I was always careful to avoid viewing content that has graphics stuck on the screen for extended periods of time, but it turns out part of a TV station's logo got permanently stuck on the screen, even though the logo would only be there in increments of 5-10 minutes and then go away for commercial breaks. Anyway, back to reviewing this specific TV. This TV costs less than half the price of the OLED, and this TV is a 4K TV whereas the OLED was only 1080p. I love the Roku platform and the voice feature of the remote. To my eye, the picture settings are very good out of the box, and I was stunned at just how good movies look in 4K with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The biggest surprise to me was the TV's built-in speakers. I find the TV's speakers to be great all by themselves, and while a soundbar can enhance the TV's audio further, I am perfectly satisfied with the audio performance from the TV's built-in speakers on its own. Overall, this was a great purchase and you won't find very many TV's out there that are comparable to this one at this price.

TCL 55" Series 6 (635) 4K HDR TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was originally looking to get either a Sony or Samsung 4K TV. Then i saw the ratings on this TCL 6 Series unit. It had better specs (120Hz vs 60Hz native panel) than either of the other units I was considering in the same price range, plus it had DolbyVision & Atmos capabilities. For the price, it was clearly the winner, in my opinion. I was impressed when I got it home, as well.

Great Support!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I feel like this review may be a bit premature. I only purchased 2 days ago. The reason I was so anxious to post is mostly for customer service. The TV works and looks great (so far). After turning it on for the first time, some of the apps would not load. After selecting with the remote, the screen would go black and return to the home screen. This happened with approximately half of the apps. I thought I had a lemon. I called the help line, and after only a minute wait, I was talking to a live tech support! It took another couple minutes to get to the right department, but after less than 10 minutes, they had my problem solved. {Solution:Settings>System>Power>System Restart>Restart} The quality of the image is a huge improvement over the Vizio I had. The ease of navigating through everything is impressive. The most noticeable thing about this TV is the reception it gets. I use an antenna, no cable. My Vizio was very glitchy with antenna reception. All local stations are coming in clear and sharp with no pixelating. The sound quality is also a major improvement. I'm sold on this TV. Hopefully it will last more than 5 or 6 years. If so, I'll be happy.
