Beautiful picture with woes
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV based on all the wonderful reviews for it. When I got it home, I really enjoyed the picture. This was my first HDR experience, and I thought it was really great. Netflix looked great! I plugged in my PS4 Pro to see how HDR gaming would look, and thus started my issues with this TV. The input kept flickering between “white noise”, Input (is it on?), and the Dolby Vision symbol, over and over. I was so upset. After a factory reset, the problem went away for a couple weeks, but came back when I paused a TV show in HDR, switched the input to something else for a few minutes, then came back. On top of this, the audio is terribly inconsistent if you need to use ARC for a soundbar, like I did. It would pop, often times losing connection altogether, and I had to do a big song and dance to get it working again. The picture is really something wonderful, but that’s when it all works. I found it wasn’t worth the hassle for me, and returned it. I hope this helps someone else know what COULD be in store. I’m sure some people had a wonderful experience. I, however, did not.

Great choice for affordable 4K
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has exceeded my expectations. The picture quality is very good, especially HDR content. I'm not a by any means a AV guy but I've been impressed with how good this thing can look sometimes. First time using a Roku system and it's so far my favorite (have tried Amazon/Google). If your in the market for cheaper tv, I don't think you'll be disappointed with this one.

Close to perfect
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture is great. The black levels are very black and I have seen no light bleed. Setup was mostly simple. I have had the Roku stop working twice when I was scrolling through the menus. Other than that, it is great. I was able to add a center stand instead of using the widespread feet which did not work for me. The stand only cost $30 and is very stable. Overall, one of the best TV's I have owned and much better than any edge lit LED.

Money Saver
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK, I have a Sony A8H (OLED), a Samsung Q90T (QLED), and a TCL Class 8. All of them are high-end great looking TVs, each with their own unique attributes. This TV in my estimation compares well to those lofty brethren for a heck of a lot less dough. Admittedly I don't subject my TVs to the Spears & Munsil Benchmark Blu Ray disc or micro-analyze the "blooming," "crushing," and color accuracy. I do fiddle with the coarser video settings until the picture looks terrific to my eye, and I do look at HD content. Save yourself some money and check out this new Mini-LED TCL 6; it's a definite upgrade from last year's model, and it looks great.

Amazing color and value
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were looking for a good Roku tv, and Reddit suggested this one because of our price range. The color is amazing on this panel. Sound is 7.8/10 The Roku UI is easy to navigate. The processor handles everything without lagging like other TVs Overall very happy with it.

TV is above expectations ROKU is below
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV picture is crystal clear and the sound is very good. I had expected to buy a sound bar but it sounds so good I will live without one for a while. Being able to hide the cords in the TV legs is a nice touch. The ROKU is disappointing. On the positive it is snappy, has airplay 2, and the remote app is handy including being able to listen through your headphone. On the negative the ROKU Software on the TV is basically bloat ware and spy ware and ad ware. It loads a lot of unwanted apps you have to remove, it captures your data and shares it with third parties and it peppers your screen with ROKU adds. The ROKU remote they give you is very cheap for a TV of this quality, it only works half time, and the volume buttons are on the side and get in the way of navigation.

Great TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV. I’m no expert on all the new tech that’s out there now so I can only report what my eyes see. This TV has a great picture. The clarity and sharpness of this TV makes some scenes look almost 3D. I previously had a 20 year old plasma TV which still has a great picture, but this is better. The plasma still handles angle viewing better, but this qled TCL TV has made great strides in angle viewing-much better than older LEDs If I have to give a flaw to this TCL, this would be a minor one. How it stands the test of time remains to be seen. But for now- Bottom line- great TV for a great price. Buy it.

Good TV for the price point
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased as a budget TV for guest/workout room. Use Roku devices at every other TV in house so no transition necessary. This is however first Roku TV owned so was rather shocked how long setup time took and had the initial out of the box remote pairing issue that is often experienced which doesn't make sense. Picture is decent but haven't gone thru the paces of fully testing. I do get some backlighting flicker here and there which am not sure what is causing - thought this would not happen by turning off auto brightness adjustments. It usually occurs when I change a channel or content and some type of adjustment is taking place. Brightness, contrast, and color are its strengths - especially with 4K content. Standard HD content is just OK. Sound quality is to be expected which is not great - auxiliary sound bar or system is recommended if you want a better cinematic experience. Overall, it gets the job done for my need and didn't break the bank.

TCL 55R635 55" 4K UHD Smart Roku TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first TCL set, which i bought after significant research. I had only a few "must-haves" when searching for a new TV: Vivid colors Deep Blacks Good refresh rate 4K UHD Smart TV This set looks amazing, and it checks all the boxes for me. The colors are bright and lively. The blacks are deep enough, with only minimal shadowing noticed every so often. The 120Hz refresh rate is standard as a minimum on high-end TVs, but it certainly makes a difference, as there is no lag whatsoever. And watching something in 4K is impressive to say the least. I've had a standard Roku box in the past, and was impressed with it overall, but i've never owned a "Roku TV" before - i love it! The interface is easy to use, and the remote has a voice feature that allows me to search for content without having to type everything in. I've only had the TV for a couple of months, so i can't speak to the longevity of it, but so far, so good!

Doesn't have everything
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great for the price. Really bright, nice hdr and dolby vision. Doesn't do 4k at 120hz (4k/60hz or 1440p/120hz). When brightness is turned up high there is a lot of light bleed into dark scenes ( the local dimming feature helps a bit). But for right now a great tv for gaming and Netflix.

Overall great budget TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. I read up a lot on which TV to get and this TCL 6 series was the best budget TV on the market by a few hundred dollars. The picture- quality is awesome. I used the 'IPQ calibration' app to calibrate it even better. I HIGHLY recommend doing the same for any tv as a bare minimum for picture quality. PS5 looks great. This tv does 4k at 60hz which will be future proof for at least another year or two before any games are made natively in 4k 120hz. It has 4 HDMI ports, one of which is auto-setup for eARC (eARC is an audio hdmi hookup to be able to control your soundbar with your tv remote instead of needing two remotes, as well as handle Dolby, very handy.) Watched the new Mortal Kombat last night in 4k with Dolby on. I do have a sony soundbar mind you but the movie experience overall was magnificient. I also have an antenna hooked up as well which is pulling in 73 channels in Denver and they all have a very quality feed. These TV's supposedly have potential for bad panels, so I opted for the 5-year geek squad coverage, seemed silly not to.

Best there is IMHO
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought mine two days ago and of course they dropped the price $100.00 the next day. It seems to be an outstanding television with maybe the best pic I have ever seen Be aware, however, that the brightness setting has to be turned way down in a dark room. The first time I turned it on I watched a Monday night football game and it was gorgeous. The best looking football video I’ve ever seen. Stellar pic. The next night I turned it on to watch something on streaming TV and it was like looking at the sun. I had to amp it back to the 2nd darkest setting. Gorgeous pic but nearly blinding. I said several years ago when ROKU was new that it was now the hands-down best TV system on the market and could take over at some point. This TV reinforces that sentiment. Great buy even if I lost 100.00 by not waiting a day!

Best in class
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's an excellent display with great panel uniformity. The local dimming zones take the HDR experience to the next level. It has an excellent color gamut and accuracy. It's beautiful even when it's turned off. It also supports Dolby Vision, Dolby atmos, HDR10, 120Hz input; but my TV sometimes reboots when I try to use 120 fps output from my Xbox One S, so look elsewhere if you're primarily looking for 120hz display. I have paired this TV with a Nvidia Shield TV and boy o boy is that a sweet combination! But if you don't have a Shield TV, Roku has you covered. The Roku experience on this particular TV is far superior than a typical sub $300 TV and it comes with a Roku voice remote. My biggest surprise was the support for airplay and pre-installed Apple TV app. Can't talk much about the speakers as I use a sound bar, but those sounded pretty decent when I switched audio to TV speakers just to check. In conclusion, this is a spectacular TV that punches wayyyy above it's class and wins! I highly recommend this TV to anyone who is in market for a mid-range TV. You'll love it.

Happy with the value.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic value for the money. No other set offers the features of the TCL series 6 for the price. Competes with TVs costing hundreds more, and holds its own. Picture quality is very good, and the set is bright enough to put in a well lit room. Excellent game mode and HDMI 2.1 compatibility for PS5 and XBXS.

TCL QLED TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV! Super bright, The clarity and detail of the picture is amazing. The only drawback is the remote. It seems to be bluetooth but I can't find a pairing button on the tv and the only I can get the remote to pair to the is to unplug the tv.

Pleasantly surprised at picture quality.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pleasantly surprised at the quality of picture this TV offers. As a sports viewer, I thought that motion would be a huge concern, However, there are very few artifacts, if any, from streaming sports to this TV. A satellite or cable feed looks even better. Colors are vivid, but not too unrealistic and the convenience of having Roku built-in works wonders for quick access to streaming apps. The TV powers up quickly (if you select that option for fast loading) and the apps are available very fast as well. The only downside is that the Roku remote is minimal. So, without a universal remote, you'll have to get used to navigating to Live TV or use a different remote completely for that or a Blu Ray. Overall, this is a great product for a pretty good price. I got this on sale for $849. It looks just as good as my LG OLED in everyday 1080p viewing, but when it comes to 4K material, the OLED is still king.

good tv
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After only buying Sony products for over 30 years we decided to try a new brand as my last Sony tv only lasted 5 years. Looked at Samsung and the price was high and so many returned to the store, so the salesman recommended the TCL. Talked with a few people that had them and saw the tech it had and a much better cost than Sony, LG and Samsung. Had it about two months and it is working great. The remote takes a while to get used to since it doesn't have any numbers on it, but that is okay you just use the mic. Colors are nice and bright and it upscales everything which takes a little getting used to watching every show this way. I have watch sports, nature shows, sitcoms and more and they are all great to watch with the brilliant colors and clarity. I don't know the longevity of the tv, but we shall see.

||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Freaking love this tv. Great value and provides adaptable inputs for older devices. Everything looks fantastic and works well. The roku features are convenient and quickly load up all my apps. Sometimes it needs to be reset but no biggie. Best tv i have bought in a long time!
