    Our children bought us a new TCL 55 inch series 5 tv from Best Buy for Christmas and we were so impressed with it that on 4/11/20 I purchased a TCL 55 inch series 6 from Best Buy for my room. When we unpacked the series 5 set, there was absolutely no smell, but when I unpacked the new series 6, there was a strong smell coming from the tv. I felt that this was maybe from all the packing and that it would go away but as of today, which is two weeks later, I can still smell that odor. I don’t know what to do, especially because of the lockdown due to the coronavirus. Please help me.

    Nice picture good price but it is 2 months past its 1 year warranty and it is starting to have issues. You get what you pay for

    I would give 4 star, but this 55” is not as clear as my older model TCL 65”, which is what I was led to believe. Go with the older model... I do like the TCL/Roku brand and will buy again.

    Extremely disappointed in this product. This TV restarts itself multiple times a day for no apparent reason. It happened twice in the last 30 minutes which has prompted me to write this review. Unfortunately, I do not recommend purchasing this product. Hard pass.

    Setup as very easy but the color on this tv is “off”, especially when watching sports. It’s ok for watching regular shows but not for live sports.

    surprisingly poor picture

    After all the rave reviews for this TV it was very disappointing to buy one and get such a poor picture. I suspect quality-control issues. There are two main problems with the one I got: 1) The factory-default picture settings are just garish: way too bright, jarring contrast, hideously over-saturated colors, etc. Went into the settings menu and tried lots of different ways to tone it down; but every mild adjustment I tried flipped it in the other direction, made it look dull and washed-out. The TV that I got seems to have two modes, "neon light" or "dishwater" with nothing in between. 2) There is noticeable blurring and pixelation on the edges of fast-moving objects, particularly in low-light scenes. Not quite as bad with sports, where everything is brightly lit, but for example a shadowy fight scene in Assassin's Creed was so blurry and pixelated it almost unwatchable. Again, I tried adjusting many many different picture settings but nothing helped. Judging by other people's positive reviews, I might have just gotten the defective one in the lot. Really wish the picture wasn't so poor, it will be a pain taking it back. P.S. TCL, please do not post a stock reply saying that there are options available to adjust the picture settings. As mentioned above, I've tried many, many adjustments and nothing helps, it's simply a really bad TV.

    Do not get if you want to use your Apple TV

    I have gone around and around trying most every fix I can find online, and while the overall setup with my 4K Apple TV was straight forward, I simply CANNOT get the (Siri) remote to control the TV's volume. I have little energy to go into more detail, but if anyone out there has resolved this I would love to here, else this TV will be returned.

    Failed within a month of purchase, do not buy

    We bought this TV to replace a Vizio that was damaged in our move. We purchased on 3/13/2020 and today 4/12/2020 the television froze up and wont respond. We tried turning it on/off, disconnecting the power, disconnecting all other hardware, trying a manual reset and nothing works. When pressing the manual reset button it freezes on the reset TCL/Roku screen (red color) . So then the unit was turned off and then on. It turns back on and shows the desktop screen, with the correct time and all our apps we installed. Hence the reset did not take. Procedure was repeated multiple times and no dice. We will return and get the LG or Sony the tech I just spoke to recommended. In his words, " those are budget TV's. good for the money, but not the bedst"

    it's too bright and hurts my eyes. When things are black they get so dark I can't even see them. Too colorful. There wasn't enough lag when I was playing call of duty. Also it's made out of metal and was too heavy for me to lift. I should have bought the 32 inch instead. oh well.

    Fly in screen, issues with Xbox

    It's been about 5 months of frustrations with this TV. I noticed a black dot on my screen. Upon closer inspection and after cleaning the screen, it appears there is a black fly underneath the glass. Furthermore, I've been dealing with issues with Xbox connectivity. When turned on, the screen will flash repeatedly. After contacting customer service, I was told I need to reset the video and audio settings. Now, if this were a one time fix, that wouldn't be an issue. But the fact that I have to reset those settings at least once a week is extremely frustrating. I shouldn't have to reset anything weekly to ensure a properly working television. I wish i had returned this immediately.

    Not sure what to say about the picture quality, because my TV was cracked when I purchased it. Took it back got a new one, and it was also cracked. The struggle. I ended up with a new brand of TV out of fear this TV was way too fragile.

    Reboots itself constantly, sounds goes in and out, picture freezes up no matter what the source is (DirecTV or apps). I won't ever buy a TCL product again.

    First TV on turn on went OK until it began firmware update and never came out. Replaced the unit and that one worked a couple weeks and same thing but this time a hard reset cleared it up...at least for now.
