The picture quality, ease of use, and quick setup was all really helpful for me. Delivery was fast and on time. I really enjoy the personalization Roku offers in how to organize your home screen and connect other devices. Some very small things I would love to be updated, though: 1) To incorporate my own BG for my Roku home screen 2) Not have the menus cycled so they start over (it's jarring) 3) Be able to change the icon/upload an icon for my HDMI-connected devices (they look lame next to other colorful icons) Otherwise, this is a great TV for the money with a lot of customization offered. Good sound and picture quality, and great for games (which is why I got a new TV).

    Great TV, lousy manual

    Posted .

I would have given this a 5 star review because, for the money, it is a fantastic value. However, the manual is, without a doubt, the worst I have ever gotten with any product. If you are a person who needs a manual to work with then forget this product. The web site offers no better. I bought a Samsung 9000 series and the 166 page manual covers just about everything you could possibly want. The manual for this TV tells how to set it up, where the various ports are and that is about it. While it is easy to set up with the wifi etc. if you want to delve deeper into the functionality of the TV, and there is a lot into which you might want to delve, you had better know exactly what you are doing. All in all I love the TV but I thank God I didn't need a manual.

    Great cord cutter

I bought this TV to upgrade from a 48" Vizio I used for 8 years. We primarily watch Netflix, Hulu, and have a digital antenna for local channels. That being said, I was blown away by the ease of use of this TV. Switching between Netflix to Xbox or to the antenna is seamless. I love the features the TV ads to antenna use that most reviews didn't include like the fact that the TV includes a channel guide for local channels. You can pause and f.forward live TV. The TV also features HDR which isn't in the description. The picture quality blows away my old TV and for less than$400! I connected my sound bar with the HDMI cord and now I only use the TV remote. Speaking of the remote, I like the simplicity of the Roku remote and I'm a big fan of Roku having Roku set boxes in each room. However my big gripe is that TCL didn't include the enhanced Roku remote as the standard remote. I really expected it when I ordered the TV. Reason being with the enhanced remote you can plug headphones into your remote which I love. You can download an app on your phone and do it that way but I'm not one to want to clog my phone up with yet another app. That's just my own personal opinion. Other than that I love this TV! So worth purchasing!

    I'm No Videophile But...

With a little bit of messing around, I was able to find the perfect picture settings. Compared to the 46" Samsung 1080p TV I had previously, this is definitely a few steps better. Tested it by watching Chef's Table on Netflix (due to it saying it's 4k on one my web searches), and wow, it was sharp and so full of color. I can't quite notice if the blacks were really black considering it's in a room with no sunlight pointing directly at it. The sound coming from the TV is ehh. Probably would be better to buy a soundbar but it's not bad in a bedroom with the wall behind it and only being seated 10 ft away. Gaming on the TV is amazing but I did notice a weird lag or blur happening but I'm not sure if it was from the game or the TV. Will have to play more games to see if it happens again. Roku doesn't do anything for me since all I have for streaming is Netflix but it's definitely having me consider getting more now that there's a hub for the other services. Overall, there's a couple reasons you should purchase this TV: The price is amazing for someone's first 4k TV that's not a videophile and if it's being placed in a bedroom for personal use and not for the living room for entertaining guests and everyone in the house. If you aim to place it in a living room for the family, it still wouldn't be a bad choice but I would go with something better.
