Great TV for the Price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV about a week ago. This is my first 4K TV I have purchased. I love how this tv does include the Roku set up. Roku is very easy to use and it gives a great direction on awesome 4K content. The only thing I didn't love about this TV was the sound quality was average. I hooked up a sound bar to it and it works like a dream!

Excellent Roku TV at a great price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really impressed with the color and clarity of this TV, especially given its low price. I'm a fan of the Roku operating system and it really shines on this TV. I'd recommend this for anyone looking to get into 4K HDR inexpensively.

Buy this TV !!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have purchased many televisions over the past few years and this one is the best bye far that I have purchased, even better than the higher priced ones. Picture quality is amazing, sound is not bad, and ease of programming and use is great. Do not look any further if you are looking for a set in this price range.

A good budget TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have reviewed the 55LF621U19 which was my first purchase, but only gave it 1 star as there was issues with jittering/stuttering of certain sections of the screen as the motion was happening in any video, you can read my review on that to see. This TCL is the replacement as it was the only other 55" TV at the same price in the store. This TV works as expected. The video is smooth, there are no glitches in the video. Connection to the Roku part was little bit of a pain as you have go to the website to get it enabled. But so far NO issues with video or configuration setup with the TV. I'm giving 4 stars due to the fact that the image quality is not quite that of the Toshiba in the same size/class. Although the image/video play is clear as it should be, it still has look of the older LED TVs where it doesn't look like can just reach in and touch the object on the screen. BUT still has really nice coloring corrections through the Roku app you can down load on your phone. The on screen configurations doesn't have near the configurations options that the APP does. So you'll want to definitely download the app to do any changes. I DO recommend this TV if you are looking to upgrade from a 5+ year LED tv as I did. My other was a 8+ year Vizio 42" LED 1080i/720p. PROS to me: Video playback was very smooth with NO hiccups of any kind in the video/streaming/satellite playback, no issues with setup, TV works as expected. Still has pretty decent picture quality for a 'budget' tv. CONS to me: Setup of Roku required you to log onto the Roku website and enable the roku features and the on screen configurations are not near as intuitive or extensive as the Roku phone app you can download. Also the video 'clarity' or 'crispness' is not a as good as other TV's in the same price range.

Find a better tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had a lot of problems outta this tv like one of the usb ports fell inside the tv, if I set it on the best resolution half the screen would go dark , the remote control is horrible . You have to make sure that the remote is pointed directly at the tv where the eye is at because there is a very small window for reception . Only 1 shinning complement , the picture is good without higher resolution .

Excellent TV... but weak remote?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm one of those people who does way too much research considering I am not a Audio/Visual professional... I was open to spending up to $700 on a 55/60 inch TV. There is only a slight drop in picture (black color depth) between this model and, for example the Vizio M series 55". I took the 'risk' and saved myself over $200 for a slight drop in quality. I was half expecting to be disappointed by the overall picture, but when I set it up, closed the curtains and put on an HD episode of David Attenborough's Blue Planet, a huge smile came across my face. Unless you are a genuine expert in Display technology, this TV will impress. Especially when you remember you paid under $400 for a 55" model! Sound is reasonable, but I used the money I saved with this cheaper TV on a juicy SoundBar! My only issue is its annoying little remote.... I have put new batteries in it twice now and still notice unresponsiveness way too often - I have to make a point of pointing it right at the bottom of the screen for it to register sometimes... Anyway, for the money, this TV is a winner.

Mediocre tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was thrilled to get a 4k tv with built in roku for this price. However, buyer beware, the blacks on this screen are not good. There are huge problems with white clouding with darks on the screen.

Can't Believe the Picture, Can't Believe the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could not believe the price of this TV when I saw it so I did some research on the company. There are a lot of good ratings for TCL so I looked further at the product. I could not believe the built in ROKU. We use a ROKU so having the ROKU and TV in one remote and also being able to control the TV from the mobile ROKU was awesome! I tested the picture with a 4K hdr 60 fps and it was just incredible! I'm going to replace all my TVs with TCL!

I love this TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had mine for several months now. The 4k tv starts up very quickly, a couple seconds. I have a 40" 1080p TCL also and it takes much longer to start up. I read reviews on both and wanted to clarify. The remote is a ROKU remote with volume on the side so it is very Simple. We do not have cable so we use the apps and a HD antenna which cost $10-$20 max. Most over the air broadcast up to 1080p depending on the show obviously. Netflix and Amazon have 4k content. Gaming - kids use the PS4 and there is no lag and speakers on these TCL tvs are awesome. Normal tv volume is around 12-15. I do not use a sound bar as it is not needed.

Great to for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over all this is a great TV. It isn't the highest quality blow you out of your seat experience but if you want to enjoy 4k gaming and entertainment and you have a limited budget this is the TV for you. It has all the bells and whistles all the high-end names have like 4k UHD and it does support HDR. The main reason I didn't give this TV 5 stars is the speaker quality. The speakers are not great but they aren't terrible either. I would recommend getting a sound bar or surround sound for this TV. Also I like the fact that it's wifi and I can look at Hulu and other streaming services right from the tv. This is also a great way to get away from high cable or satellite bills as Roku offers tons of free streaming channels that may not provide as good of movies as Hulu or Netflix but I'm not complaining. All in all really good TV for the price!

Perfect for computer monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is a specification that doesn't seem to appear in any description I've found, and absolutely essential if you're going to use a TV as a computer monitor: chroma 4:4:4 This spec lets us know how the tv deals with video compression. chroma 4:4:4 means it's uncompressed, so especially when reading text it makes a big difference. I'm so glad I thought to do a quick google search about what makes some TV's better as monitors than others before buying something new. I've had this for 6 weeks or so, and have been pretty happy with it as a monitor. I have this mounted on the wall in my drafting studio and it's about 4' away from my face. I leave it in game mode and there's no noticeable lag. My previous monitor was a Visio 1080p set that I bought in 2011. The additional screen real estate is exactly what I need, able to clearly see more of a drawing at once. I actually tried watching TV on it the other day, and I can't say I'm impressed by the 4k upscaling, it didn't look like it was doing anything at all. For me I don't care, but for someone who does watch a lot of TV it might be an issue. I had it set to auto, thinking that would be the setting that would fill the screen regardless of incoming resolution. oh well. I can see how this would really appeal to gamers, really fast response time and the ability to do 4k HDR. This is a solid buy, and at $400 bucks it's $100 cheaper than old vizio cost me. For my purposes, it's perfect, and I hope it will last at least as long as the Vizio did. Maybe by then we'll have computer images scanned directly to my cornea, but until then I'll be happy with this S405.

Second to none
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My review of this awesome 55" TCL ROKU smart TV is short bcuz this exceptional smart TV really speaks for itself, bcuz after you unbox and set it up which is brainless your going to notice all the extra optional features and functions that this smart TV has to offer, and of course everyone has there own personal taste and that's the good thing about this smart TV bcuz whatever features you use or don't use it's not going to effect the performance of this awesome smart TV, I'll tell you what if you still don't believe me, stop by Best Buy purchase the 55" TCL Roku smart TV same one I have and see for yourself, and yes it's affordable under $400 bucks and definitely worth it!

Excellent TV - Smart, UHD, quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Roku is better than I imagined - making it easy to navigate the TV menus, inputs, and options. You can switch between Netflix, cable, and inputs like video games or disc players. The image is sharp, and quality is great, and the price is right!

Great gaming tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally decided to break down and get a 4K tv for my Xbox one s, and after reading many good things about the TCL S series I got one. For a budget 4K display it is very good. Very low input lag on game mode, and upscaling on the Xbox looks great. Huge upgrade from my previous 1080 display and I can’t recommend enough.
