I am a horrible insomniac. When I lay down at night I take my glasses off and have trouble focusing on writing and small objects so my husband bought me this 55 inch. The picture is incredible. It's crystal clear. I can watch it without my glasses and not get a headache. He drifts off to sleep and I watch tv without disturbing him.

You must to use the separate remote that comes for this TV to turn it on. Then you need to switch to the Cox remote to do everything else. I wish I would have known that this TV was all about application and doing downloads. I bought four of these TVs for my grandparents who are not tech savvy. Yes these TVs are very cheap in price, but now that I know these things it was not worth the price because it has added I do not like that you cannot turn the TV on with the Cox remote. You must use the separate remote that comes for this TV to turn it on. Then you need to switch to the Cox remote to do everything else. I wish I would have known that this TV was all about application and doing downloads. I bought four of these TVs for my grandparents who are not tech savvy. Our TVs are compatible with most Universal and cable remotes. Many Universal and cable box remotes can be programmed to control certain features on the TV. You can visit https://support.tclusa.com/tv-remote-codes for more information. Additionally, you can elect to not connect the TV to the Internet during the initial guided setup to use the TV as a traditional TV. You will have access to all of the inputs and functions of a traditional TV, but would simply not have to worry about the streaming channels and Internet connectivity. You can also program the TV to power in directly an input by going to Home>Settings>System>Power>Power On>Select the input you want your TV to power on to. Hope this helps!

Awesome Bang for the buck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.was looking for a new tv and this one was withing my budget. i thought it was going to hate it. yet i am very surprised. colors are pretty good and so are blacks, i did notice a bit of uneven blacks on the screen but what are you to expect, this tv cannot be compared with thousand dollar tv's. this is a budget friendly smart tv that you are probably going to use for netflix and gaming. i would say give it a shot.

Not Bad for $370

The features you get for that little money with other conpanies are nothing in comparison. The picture is great, & installed apps are very convenient. This is my second TCL tv, & I have to say that I am surprised by the quality of the picture. It’s not as good as some of the larger companies, but great for a fraction of the cost. Will buy again!

Don't buy

Did all the troubleshooting steps.. going to return this and pay the extra money for one that will last. The picture quality was fine and then it just went out... too bad I live so far from a bestbuy... :(.

Great picture and sound

It has a very good user interface, the sound level is in the upper right corner so it does not interfere with most of the picture. Options and settings are easy to see and change. Occasionally, the set will freeze and do nothing just like a computer - power off/on usually fixes that. This is the reason I gave it only 4 stars.
