For a $400 TV, it is amazing at the value. Clear picture, HDR 10, a game mode for latency, and a rather simple interface. If you're looking to just get into 4k, you won't be disappointed with your purchase.

I am a proud owner of 5 TCL 4K TV's including this one. They offer excellent value/picture quality/features/customer support. Do not hesitate on purchasing this one because you will not be disappointed.

This was an easy set-up. Originally, we intended to set this on the table top on the provided legs. After further thought and for better stability, we decided to wall-mount it. Good picture. Good sound.

Great picture and nice Roku interface. Remote Control has all in one design. Sound bar compatibility became the only issue. I have used different brand sound bars with other TVs so I decided to purchase a TCL sound bar with a wireless sub to avoid any conflicts. And it does work fine--optically. I assumed that any new TV with wireless capabilities would connect via blue tooth to any blue tooth enabled sound bar. Wrong. This TV clearly has blue tooth audio built in but when you try to pair an audio device the only option is a Roku sound bar. So you will need to use an optical connection instead of blue tooth (ugh, wire hanging on the wall) unless you buy a Roku bar.

For the price you can't beat TCL, 4K,HDR10,Dolby Vision,Dolby Atmos. Upgraded to this tv from a Vizio M60-c3 60" 4k tv and the differnce is night and day. My Xbox one X loves this TV. Best $400 i have spent.

I've only had this tv for a couple of months now but everything so far is good. I'm not crazy about the very small Roku remote with the volume and mute buttons on the side. Tv does have a good picture quality!

This tv is amazing. The picture is so colorful and clear. And it has Roku built into it! Only thing is wish is that the remote had a number pad for tuning to a channel directly using a digital antenna.

This was my first TV in 13 years. The last was a top of the line Sony WEGA 50" LCD, which still looked great (1080i resolution). I spent several weeks comparing 55" specs and researching all the former big name brands that have sold their name licensing to offbeat manufacturers. You should go in to a store so you can see the TVs next to each other or a few steps away, in the same lighting and ambient room noise, which is one of the reasons I don't buy gear like this online, sight unseen. (I also like to support retailers and the day I bought, Best Buy had the best price for this model on or off line. If something goes wrong in 30 days, you'll also have a place to go. The TCL "4" Series was $50 cheaper and essentially has the same guts and Roku (Roku is my streaming platform of choice for cord-cutting.) You should know that the "real" motion refresh rate of the 4 ans 5 series is 60Hz, like most TVs in this price point. But TCL does some software trickery to get rid of the fast motion blurring in both series. But the 5 takes it up a notch. The 5 Series also has DolbyVision decoding. If you want to be able to enjoy the latest ultra hi res of this technology, then the 5 Series is worth the extra $. Several movie streamers like Amazon Prime (on Roku) are already doing it and more are coming. If you don't care about DolbyVision, buy the 4 Series. Both 4 & 5 Series upscale to UHD. LED Screen backlighting is a BIG deal. Some models like the low end LG's use side lighting. This may look OK until a scene goes dark gray or black, and you'll have some shadowing on the screen edge. The TCL 4 & 5 Series back light. I also don't like the limitations of LG's proprietary smart browser. If you're cutting the cord, just know, there's a reason Roku's stock is way up. Roku nails it. If you have cable, you can ditch your room heating, power-hog cable box. Roku has the apps for almost every cable provider. Sign in once & done. The app is your new cable box, built in to Roku - no charge for this. (BTW, when you are setting up Roku, they will ask for a credit card for pay content. Scroll down and skip this to avoid the credit card page. You can continue set up free content. The internal speakers of both the 4 & 5 are fine for everyday viewing of sitcoms, news, etc., with crisp dialog. But the big low end I had on the old Sony isn't there. There is a 1/8" headphone jack and a USB jack, for a USB powered sound bar. The headphone jack level is controlled by the remote volume and using the jack will mute the internal TV speakers. If you want your surround output for your room amp, there is an optical/digital out to feed your amp and an HDMI ARC for newer home theater amps. There are 2 other non-ARC HDMI's, one mini A/V input for older gear (input adapter included), but no composite. Cord-cutters will appreciate the HDTV antenna input & receiver for over the air TV reception. The receiver brings in a killer picture. I'm a studio engineer, so I look at everything. Lastly, don't let the ultra simple Roku remote fool you. The volume buttons are on the side and the up/down arrows are the channel selector buttons for over the air HDTV! (I thought I would need a universal remote - nope.) Unless you are going to get into the $600 and up arena for a 55" unit with HDR, this is the best choice for the money I tested. If you're in St. Petersburg, FL, ask for Bryce. He knows every TV model in the house.

For it's price range this television is definitely a keeper. Nice picture but does have some problem with edge lighting bleed in dark scenes. I've been able to adjust it somewhat but I knew this going in. Might be worth buying the 6 series but I was on a budget at the time. Easy setup. I got it home in a Suzuki crossover believe it or not and carried it in by myself. Lots of options in settings. Dolby digital sounds great through my receiver though I don't have the setup for Dolby ATMOS. Roku is the perfect smart tv system.
