Hands down best picture for the money. Hangs with the higher end models and wins. 4K and Dolby vision together is a game changer.

This is my 3rd TCL TV and I really like them. Nice picture, great price and Roku built in. They are an unbeatable value.

I got this because it had great reviews from cnet. I was blown away as soon as my cable box turned on to Cartoon Network. The color was crisp and bright. I kind of wish they made a soundbar because I had to buy another soundbar as this didn't sync to mine because it was optical cable based. Also sometimes you can see the pixels in the black shadows on shows/movies, seldom happens so it's not a big deal. I am 97 percent happy with this TV, and will be buying a 6 series the next time I buy a TV.

I have never heard of TLC brand, but it had gotten a lot of reviews. I took a chance looking at bang for the buck and I have to say I am pleased so far. I mainly use the TV for gaming (ps4). The picture is super bright and the colors are vibrant. Blacks come in very black and I have no complaints there. The sound is great. The Roku features are awesome as well. This is a great tv for the money. Don’t hesitate if you are shopping for a 4K tv. It is a great buy.

I was looking to upgrade my 5 year old Samsung 46" with a sub $500 55" 4K HDR TV. My father purchased a TCL 6 series last year and is happy with it. The 6 series was a bit over my budget so after reading several reviews and everybody raving over the TCL's, I settled for the TCL 5 series. First issue was the "extenders" sticking out of the upper 2 VESA mounting holes. The VESA brackets do no sit flush against the TV. The top of the bracket screws into a thin stud sticking out (see photo) and does not look very sturdy. The back of TV is slightly curved so the studs need to be there to mount the brackets straight. Poor design! Then there is the issue I always have with Best Buy. They have a model number slightly different from the one everybody else sells and they remove features to reduce the price. The remote that comes with the BB version is not the voice remote as sold everywhere else. So both of these issues were not deal breakers, but a little irritating to me. Now the deal breakers: Dark picture with some programming, mainly with Dolby Vision. So dark on some movies it wasn't even watchable. I could not adjust for this. The color: looked dull and washed out compared to my old Samsung. Light Bleed: to be expected with edge lit TV's and was noticeable a bit more than my old Samsung. Now the biggest issue: Major sound lag, mainly on one channel (NBC). This one threw me for a loop. Made no since to me that it was on one channel. I swore it could not be the TV and it was so bad you could not watch it. There is no adjustment that I could find for the delay and even if there was, I would have to change it back and forth depending on what I was watching. I connected the same HDMI cable to my old TV and no sound lag on NBC. I returned the TV and purchased a Vizio E55-FI and it has none of these issues. Picture looks better, build quality feels better, and no sound lag.
