I did a lot of research when my 5 year old Vizio died. And hands down this was the best value. If your looking for a TCL TV the series 5 is the sweet spot. The Roku interface is amazing! Keep in mind this is not a $2000 4K picture, but you will not be disappointed if you are realistic about buying a $400 TV.

I researched so many 55" TV's and this TCL was a great choice. The set up was super easy! The picture is AMAZING. The sound is impeccable, however, It's on a shared wall so to be courteous I may invest in a sound bar so more sound comes forward without having the volume up to much. I definitely recommend this TV.

I returned a Samsung but cause it wasn't as good quality as one's of the past. I asked the sale associate and he recommended this TV. I couldn't be happier with the quality and price. Thank you Best Buy!

Great picture quality and tons of Roku apps. A couple small things: when I plugged the antenna in, the apps and the system running the apps flickered like it was nobody's business. Plus, the "black" has a few faint spots in between shots, when idle. But it's not noticeable when watching something.

When I first bought this tv it had some dead pixels in the bottoms corners, but I was able to return and exchange product for a new one without any issues. Very nice image for the price, ive always been into Vizio products but this tv is amazing and would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade.

I needed something that was going to look WONDERFUL in my new apartment, but not break the bank. This TV is amazing. Crystal clear picture, I highly suggest a Planet Earth 2 marathon. Will definitely shop this brand again when I get one for my bedroom!

Even though the new 6 series were already out, we gave up very little in getting an older 5 series. For the price, a great value. Great picture, great features. The only thing to note is that although this is listed as a 55”, it actually measures slightly smaller than my 10 year old 50” Samsung.

We put this up in the bedroom and use nightly. It will take the TV 30-40 seconds after turning on to connect to the network. The Wifi is broadcast from the same room, so connection strength is not an issue. The built in Roku is great for our Comcast App which is the reason we bought this TV. But the Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video apps will quit working every once in a while and I will have to completely factory reset the TV to make them work. I have had to do that 5 or 6 times since buying the TV. The picture quality is great. The remote that comes with it feels cheap, but the TV will sync with another higher quality roku remote which we already had. Would be a great TV if not using the built in apps exclusively, and little cumbersome for just the apps though. It is a great value for the price.

I absolutely loooove this tv! The pictures are so clear when watching HD shows and movies that you think you’re right on set with the actors. Don’t doubt it, purchase this tv and regret nothing. I would purchase one in a larger size too, if I could.

4 Stars. My only issue is with the color/backlight. Compared to my previous set, a Sony, it’s not as rich and textured. You can see light in the bottom 2 corners of the screen when the background is black. I’ve attempted to adjust the Brightness to compensate. It’s acceptable now but not ideal.

Easy to program and stream channels through my home cable provider in my vacation home. Saves money because I only require one cable subscription. The Roku remotes controls should be made better; the buttons don't always work well.

This is the best TV I have bought for the price. The picture is crisp and tv sound quality is top notch (for a tv under $350). I am not extremely satisfied with the Roku Smart function and would have rather had the FireTV voice functionality. But the price makes up for that issue.

I was expecting poor to avg picture but I am most definitely surprised. Do not let the price fool you, very nice picture and we'll organized home menu. And unlike the fire TV, TCL has the YouTube TV ready for down load. The TV has a quick boot up and fair sound. Definitely recommend!

Even though it is a roku and utilizes a roku remote. You can still function. If you have a cable box no problem you can program your cable box to run it. Great picture, thin and sleek. The speakers are way better than what I thought they would be with the price of this tv. Very pleased.

I purchased this TV and I like the roku the pictures doesn’t show as well as I would like I think I’m going to upgrade 2 the six series but other than that if you’re not really meticulous about the picture is a great TV I know I myself just need to try the 6 series & I may not because of the price

Glad I let sales person talk me into this TV. I cut the cable 3-18-2020, and then covid was here, I thought how stupid of me! Armstrong wanted me to pay extra for HDTV when I got it, I was like no way already paying too much! With antenna picture is GREAT!

Picture quality, and build quality are great, especially coming from a 1080p screen. My only wish is that it had been an Android TV instead of Roku as some apps are not available for Roku that would be on Android. Can always plug in an android TV box though.

I love this TV, especially for the price. It is my understanding TCL is just coming into the market and selling low to establish their name. After purchasing it I saw it is the exact same TV, Ellen is giving away on her show! I think their prices will be going up to match or be higher than other TV's.
