I've had my TV for about a week now and I love it. The design is sleek, the Roku platform is user-friendly, and the picture quality is amazing. I haven't experienced any of the banding issues reported by others.

I own both the 55 inch and 65 inch version of this TV. Could not be happier with the picture quality and ease of use. Roku TV for life!

Just got TCL 55" 6 series and love it! No banding issues or blooming first off! The picture is incredible in 1080p and in 4k watching cobra kai series on YouTube and red and white screens no issues. The motion settings set the picture off the charts. It looks like I'm there when watching in 4k . I picked mine up so maybe no shipping damage . I hope this helps others!

    Don't use Dolby vission

It's a great TV and HDR gets bright, but Dolby Vision is terrible. It's far dimmer than HDR. But the problem is the TV is set to Dolby by default. A secret menu you can access from the home screen alows you to change the default to HDR. You have to press the home button 5 time, then click rewind, then pause, then fast forward, pause again, then rewind. That will take you to a new menu where you can turn HDR on as default

Number 1, the speakers are trash. I get major distortion just from the Netflix (Da dum) at half volume. The remote doesn't respond very well if you sit close. Netflix is disappointing. Most of the HDR content, especially the Marvel content, looks extremely fuzzy and distracting. It's not the tvs fault, it has to do with Netflix's compression, but it's rather disappointing because most of the HDR content that's available is on Netflix. So far, gaming is awesome! That's what I bought the tv for. Can't really feel any lag using HDMI 3 in gaming mode. I would recommend this for gamers and others that have a secondary audio setup who aren't too nit picky.

If you’re thinking about buying this tv, please do it. The tv shows vibrant colors, and Roku makes everything mischievous easier. At first I bought the Samsung nu7100 50 inch but I returned it and got this one. Well worth the extra money, and I do not regret my decision. The nu7100 was too dark and it was a crappy tv overall. The only down side is the sound is ok, but I don’t really care about that. I put the sound setting on theatre mode and that worked for me. Overall a great tv, and well worth the money!

I was hesitant in buying this tv since I’ve never heard of the brand. I Bought a Sony and took it back for low picture quality. I bought this one and it was amazing out of the box. I did set up the picture quality settings based off other reviews and it made a nice difference. The color and black quality is amazing! The picture quality is amazing too! I have another tv that is a top of the line Samsung but this tv has a better picture. I love this tv! I’m hoping it lasts for a while, not knowing the brand, but TCL have been making computer monitors for years. I would highly recommend buying this tv over any other brand I have had.

I initially purchased 55 inch LG ... The plastic leg attachment broke off during the set up so I took it back . I felt that was a preview of coming attractions so I Purchased the Hisense 55”. It was cheaper and that should’ve told me something the picture was not good at all . I took that back and I just set up the TLC 55” 6 series... what a difference ! It is exactly what I was expecting from an UHD TV . Set up is never a breeze on any of this but once you get it the picture is great and the Internet connection terrific all the other channels with Netflix Hulu etc. great high definition . I recomend this one for sure .

This is the first tv I've bought in a long time. Wanted an affordable 4k tv with true hdr. This is perfect. I doubt the more expensive options offer a much better quality.

I reviewed many TVs before I bought this one. I spent countless hours on all sorts of sites and looking at the TVs personally came down to two things picture quality and price point. Yes there are TVs that I look better but you’re spending thousands more. This is a great television for every day home use gaming watching movies you won’t feel as if you’ve got something cheap. Great TV for A Great Price

I'm writing this review because I read all the reviews on this page. The reviews almost scared me off of this TV. I want people to know I had no issues with this TV. The picture was perfect. No lines, no nothing else. I don't usually do reviews, but I didn't want anyone else to read these reviews and get scared off of buying this TV. I had one in my upstairs bedroom and loved it so I wanted to buy one for downstairs. I also asked the salesman at BB if they had any of these TVs returned. He said no. I love the picture on this TV. It is bright and crisp! You will not go wrong buying this TV....

I purchased this TV after reading many excellent reviews and glowing recommendations from CNET and other online tech sources. It seemed they did not have enough great things to say about this TV for the price, although they acknowledged that there may be a quality control issue with vertical banding some users experienced. Taking the gamble on getting a set that did have this issue, I purchased this TV on 9/28. For the first week or so I was mostly pleased with this TV, especially when watching the 4k content. I would not say that the image looked perfect, but I was mostly satisfied for the price that I paid. The image quality was nice while watching most content, but streaming sports the picture was not very impressive. During football games the ball disappears unless it is moving slowly, not matter what the motion enhancement settings are set to. Dolby Vision content was too dark for my preferences, no matter how I tried to calibrate the picture. Other than these two picture issues, the image quality was fairly good. I would not say that I was blown away by it by any stretch, but for the $600 spent it was decent. It is also worth mentioning that the Roku software that comes integrated with the TV was excellent. This was my first experience with Roku, but it was extremely simple to use and very efficient. About 10 days after the purchase, during an episode of Stranger Things, things went wrong with the TCL. Spontaneously the image began flickering, as if the backlight was blinking at a high frequency. It was very noticeable, especially on scenes with bright colors. Immediately I called up the customer service line for TCL, and was quickly troubleshooting with a representative. Rather than admitting there was an issue with the TV, they repeatedly asked me to unplug the tv and accessories over and over again. After 15 minutes of unplugging and plugging it back in, my patience ran out and I hung up. Luckily this happened within the return period, and Best Buy was extremely understanding with this process. I shelled out the extra $200 for the Vizio P series, and it was well worth the money. The picture looks great, and motion issues when watching sports are non existent. I really wanted to like this tv, but unfortunately I cannot recommend another TCL product. Their customer service was sub par, and personally for me it is now well worth it to spend a bit more on a reputable brand.

      Hi Ryan,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your TV and that you were not able to see the same great picture quality a majority of our customers are seeing. As you mentioned, we do have glowing reviews on many professional reviewing sites and also from our customers. So it is a bit baffling to hear otherwise. The flickering issue you have described is rather odd behavior for one of our TVs. We're sorry that our troubleshooting was unable to fix the problem, and that we were not given the chance to help further. We will continue to make improvements to ensure our customers the best experience possible. Best of luck and happy viewing!

      Thank you,

      Sara

    A lot of TV value

The picture quality blows away the 9 year old LCD it replaced. As a cord cutter, the built in Roku is fantastic. It runs streaming apps well, and the guide and live TV pause for antenna TV are pretty handy. The only hiccup was setting up sound through my Yamaha RX-V377 receiver using HDMI ARC. With audio output set to Auto or Dolby Digital Plus, there was no sound. Setting output to Dolby Digital made the sound work. The same receiver plays Dolby Digital Plus audio fine from other sources, so it seems that Roku TV doesn't handle Dolby Digital Plus over HDMI ARC correctly.

    Liking my 1st 4k TV

I live in a rural area, but was fortunate to get true high speed internet recently thanks to a local power cooperative running fiber. I had been waiting on that before buying a 4k TV. I had been reading reviews and watching YouTube for a while about TVs. For the money this brand had been the best with the features I wanted. I did drive 60 miles to get it, instead of having it shipped because of many reviews of units from other suppliers that shipped said they had some problems. I’ve been really pleased with this TV. The built in Roku 4k makes it an even a better buy.

We bought this 3-1/2 years ago, and it has been a solid performer. The Roku interface is fast, the picture quality is very good, and we've had no issues. The other day, it stopped powering on. No amount of troubleshooting has brought it back to life. I know this isn't a super expensive TV, but the reason I went with a 6 Series TCL was that it has good picture quality (and I assumed good overall quality). I'm not happy it only lasted 3-1/2 years. I have a support request in with TCL. I don't expect to hear back from them, as I'm well past the 1-year warranty. But I'll revise my review if they surprise me. Overall, I would give this TV 4 to 5 stars based on picture quality, UI performance, and features. With it only lasting a few years, however, I feel 2 stars is more appropriate.

    A little disappointing...

I have to say that I was extremely excited for this TV. I had read about the vertical banding issues but decided that it probably wouldn't happen to me. It did. It's especially disappointing because it really is an amazing TV that I want to love so much. The colors really pop and the HDR is amazing. The issue is the same issue as many others are stating - vertical banding and uniformity issues. I'm not sure what to think yet. I want to love the TV, but I also want one that doesn't have these issues. I have 14 days to decide and I may end up returning the TV. Please TCL - fix these issues.

Great TV at an amazing price... sound needs help.

I'm not a TV tech nerd... I just know if something I watch looks great or not and the TCL looks amazing to watch. Kids shows are vivid. Wife's shows are larger than life with great detail... As a sound nerd, the speakers on the TV are not great. I had to buy a sound bar to get the full experience. Being able to hear the dialogue from a show or movie was difficult when you have an Air Conditioner running in the heat of Summer. Once I got a fairly cheap sound bar, the experience went to a 10.
