The television is very easy to download apps. The picture on it is very good. The remote is very simple to use. It was easy to install on the wall mount. And overall I'm very happy with the product. The agent that help me with the purchase was very helpful and very knowledgeable. I had a good experience with Best Buy.

I bought this TV for my bed room. I read many reviews about how great these TV's are as well as some of the issues about dirty screen, banding, dark corners. Thankfully, the set I got has has no issues. The picture is GREAT! Great value (I got just before price went back up $100) Really, the main reason I got this is because I've cut cable and hooked up a big antenna in my attic and am streaming Sling(with Roku Express, which had its own remote". I wanted a TV where I didn't have to use 2 remotes. With my old set I had to use the original tv remote to change inputs between "antenna" and hdmi. Now the TLC has "antenna" as well as all the streaming icons on the same homepage-Awesome for me!

I helped a friend buy this who wanted a nice tv but didn't want to spend a lot of money. I have had many top of the line TVs over the years so my frame of reference may be a little different than most. I have owned a Sony 940d, A1E OLED, Z9D, 900E, and 930D...
This tv has very nice colors and good local dimming. The motion is ok, couldn't really find a setting that eliminated all of the stutter without adding interpolation artifacts but it wasn't awful...But I'm really sensitive to motion.
The smart tv platform is great. I wish Sony did Roku instead of Android TV. Although with the recent Android 8.0 update it's WAY better than in times past.
The biggest downside to this tv is the uniformity. Anytime there was a panning shot with even remotely uniform colors there were vertical bands all the way across the tv. This would be a deal breaker for me. But someone who has never owned a really nice tv before may never notice.

Overall, I am very happy with this TV. Keep in mind, this is a UHD TV, not an OLED/QLED. Overall, the picture quality is very good. Like most modern large screen TVs, the sound quality is average. If you are an audiophile or just enjoy enhanced sound quality, you will want to add on a sound bar. My only minor gripes are: (1) While I love Roku, the remote that comes with this TV feels a bit cheap, and the volume controls are on the side of the remote, making it awkward to adjust the volume. Not a huge deal, but it could be improved. (2) Vignetting - when the TV is displaying white/light scenes across the entire screen, the four corners are a bit darker than the rest of the screen. Some people would probably not even notice this, unless you pointed it out to them. Unless you are an absolute purest, it does not detract from TV watching. If you are a purest, you need to shell out the cash for an OLED/QLED.

I really have enjoyed my experience with this TV. I wanted a smart tv and something with 4K but was not looking to go as far as OLED or anything along those lines. 55inch is perfect for my bedroom. Interface and clean and easy to navigate. I know some people have had issues with banding but my unit has none of that. Will definitely recommend

The TCL Roku TV has surpassed my expectations. I’m a picky tech consumer, and I was hesitant to get a tv that was not OLED, but for more than half the cost this tv is great. The Roku interface makes it a great product. The picture is great, not the best out there, but once you have it setup there isn’t a noticeable difference between it and tv that cost double.

I bought this TV to replace the 55 inch Vizio in my bedroom. I chose the TCL because of great reviews I had read on CNet. The picture is very good for a tv at this price and the build in Roku works great and is very easy to use. With Dolby Vision and an awesome 4K picture this Tv is an outstanding value. I’m very happy with my purchase!!

Great TV. Good 4k TV for the cost. Pure white screens can see some darker spots and around logos near corners of dark screens the white bleeds out from around it (like the Xbox series x logo upon start up) but colors look great on average screen. Roku aspect is great and apps easy to use!

Let me start by saying I am a review freak, I review everything I buy for a week before a purchase is made, It was a toss with this TV and the Samsung NU7100 55 inch,
The SDR and HDR peak brightness were much better on the TCL and a wide color Gamut, The colors really POP.
I could not be happier with this TV, It is bright, clear, crisp and sharp looking.
I know I was playing the so called "panel lottery" I was lucky enough to get one with out the banding problem. Maybe they corrected this mid- year?
I had one problem with the Roku remote, which was resolved by TCL support email. This was one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. I had a email response email within 10 minutes and the issue was resolved within 20 mins of first email. I had a FED EX tracking number the same day to receive the replacement remote the next day.
Hope this helps who ever is doing the same research I did when looking for a 4k TV.

I have 4 big screen tv's in the house. One high-end and the others all middle of the road. All 55". This one is the latest purchase and I absolutely love it. The built in roku is fabulous. The picture is excellent for the money. You can't beat this tv for the price. I bought a second one I liked it so much.

Overall, I'm really happy with this TV. It is full of features, the Roku interface is easy to use and has a huge selection of streaming apps available, and it has a great picture for the money.
The only knock on it is that you can see some of the vertical banding sometimes, but it isn't really a huge issue.

Roku TV's Are the Future and the Now

i've looked at Roku tv's in the past but have been pretty faithful to Samsung for several years now and prior to that Sony. I didn't realize how much sense a Roku TV made until I got this TV. Most TV's are geared towards your cable provider. your cable provider comes in on one input, and by default that is where your TV goes when it starts up.
If you cut the cord, you might have your streaming provider coming in on one input and then local channels on another input. you may have other devices connected to other inputs.
The only way to switch between is through the remote control input selector.
With a Roku TV, your main menu presents you with all of your inputs. So, if you want to watch youtube.tv, or netfilx, or local channels, or amazon. it's all presented to you visually as a choice.
Makes much more sense.
Oh, and i like the tv as well.
my only complaint is the remote control seems like you cant' be more than 7 fee away from the TV and have to have really good aim.. hitting the receptor exactly for any response. a little frustrating.

Tv guy sold me on this tv. I was going in for an LG and he stopped Me and told me that wasn’t the best TV. He pointed me in the direction of this TV and told me it had great specs. It was rated at the number one TV in 2018. I gave it a try and I love that it has the Roku already apart of it. Great picture and quality.

Great price for 55" 4K TV. Am really loving it. Easy to setup, and with all the info on Youtube in terms of TCL reviews, I was able to set up myself and tweak the settings as I wanted it. Absolutely no complaints. And Best Buy really had great customer service delivery.

I got this TV specifically for my Xbox one. You will not be disappointed it's rated as one of the best gaming TV's. The 4k is beautiful you do have to turn on the HDR on the TV as well as the Xbox. I chose this TV over a Samsung because it looks much better and has more to offer. Get the warranty and grab a sound bar you'll be golden.

Did my research and bought this TV based on its value for money proposition. While not a high end TV I feel that I am not missing out on many high end features. Easy to set up, and having Roku built in makes operating easy. Great picture quality for the price.

This TV is absolutely amazing for the price!! So I hooked up my Xbox1, Comcast X1 (Newest 4K model), and 4K Android smart TV MeCool M8S and dialed all of these in on their individual inputs and WOW! I was blown away at the colors and clarity popping off the screen. The 4K Youtube videos and the Netflix UHD videos have never looked so good. The TV really is well dialed in for my liking right out of the box. I really didn't tweak much. I followed the online suggestions for this 6 Series set and most were good. But when my wife who typically just says "Yeah it looks good" or "Whatever you think looks best", goes Wow! The picture on our new TV looks amazing and so much better than all the other TV's we've ever had! Her statement and the fact she even noticed is a true indicator how good this TV really is. IMHO the best TV for the money out there right now in this price class. Pull the trigger! You will not be disappointed, but spend the extra $ for the 6 Series it's worth it. My friend got the cheaper 5 series same size from his membership store and the picture on ours is way better. Deeper blacks, better color just overall noticeably better.

I originally purchased the Samsung 7100 and shortly after realized it wasn't what I had hoped for. After exchanging it for the TCL 6 series 55in I was blown away! Absolutely stunning picture, in store they are not displaying this television at 4k. This became immediately evident after setup. The build is of aluminum and good quality construction, all while being much lighter over the Samsung. The amount of features packed into this tv is incredible, and when you watch it in your living room you will understand just how much of a gem this tv really is. The roku system is a joy to use, in content menus are sleek and sensible. The speed of the menu and of content loading is very quick. Roku is starting to build an incredible ecosystem that includes optimized speakers specifically for TVs like this, integration of sound and great picture makes this a complete package!

This tv has beaten my expectations so far, after having for about a month now. The picture is incredible and destroys any tv I have had up to this date, even a Plasma I had that was pretty good. Roku works great and has lots of 4K and HDR movies/shows available. No regrets about my $400 purchase.

First, the picture for the price is amazing. If it had continued to work properly I would have been very pleased. The brightness, color, and the Roku OS are all superior to the TV I exchanged the TCL for, but the TCL one week into ownership started turning itself off frequently. I suspect it was the Roku OS having an issue, as the menu would show up and it would select shutdown without any input from me. At first, it only happened once, so I was going to write it off, but then when I made the decision to return it, the TV wouldn't stay of for more than a minute. I know buying these is a bit of a lottery with whether you get a good one. I say buy one, and make sure you use it A LOT in the first week or so of ownership to stress test it. If you get a good one, the TV is simply amazing. If you get a bad one, return it.
