Picture is great and love the features on screen. But the remote absolutely sucks. You have to be in a particular spot just to have it work. If the remote worked it would have been a five star. Yes we have changed the batteries and made sure nothing was infront of the sensor.

I bought this as a 2nd tv for the basement. I already have a Samsung TV connected to Roku streaming stick and i liked the roku experience. Hence the reason for this purchase. Video quality is decent and the roku experience is anyways well known for those using Roku. I have a nintendo switch connected to it and playing games on the TV looked good. There is no input lag during the game play which is nice. Overall for a price of $599 (black friday 2018 deal) its worth purchasing. Two things that made me give it 4 stars 1. Blue tooth is not in built. I purchased a blue tooth Sony headset hoping to hear TV audio wirelessely. And then i realized this TV has no blue tooth connectivity. You can get this only if you purchase $200 roku wireless speakers seperately sold on roku website. Once you get these, I am informed, blue tooth connectivity will be possible. This means, if the TV cost is $799 for people needing blue tooth connectivity for the TV 2. Yupp TV app is not supported on Roku platform anymore.

I was going to go with an OLED which would have been better but definitely more pricey but everyone raved about the P605 from last year. I decided to buy this as a gift to myself and I really love it! My only downside is the lack of a native 120hz panel.

I bought the 55" p series about 6 months ago and loved it. It nearly equalled the performance of my Sony 55xbr900d which was nearly 3 times the price. So I was waiting anxiously for the 2018 55r615 but all of the Best Buy stores in my area were out of stock. Then I read some reviews that were less than stellar. I decided to try my luck and purchased the r615 last night and this TV is incredible. Equals the Sony or exceeds it's performance in every category. It's a definite worthwhile upgrade to the p series. Thankfully I have No banding or uniformity issues at all. This would be an incredible value at twice the price.

I've had this TV for almost a year now and it has been amazing. The HDR is awesome and the Roku UI is easy to navigate. I mainly use the TV for gaming with the Xbox One X and a PS4 Pro and everything looks incredible. God of War looks especially excellent. Great TV for the price! You won't be disappointed!

Purchased this tv on sale and it was just what I was looking for. The picture is awesome for sports and 4k gaming. Can really tell the difference between this and my old 1080p set I had. I wasnt expecting to use the roku feature but it has been a real added plus. For the price this tv is hard to beat.

u get everything u need a nice high end budget tv with roku OS. Roku just needs better controller for tvs it is nice size and easy to use but it’s super clicky and loud if u push the side,up and down buttons repeatedly your thumb will hurt.

I got this TV on a good deal before Christmas. Overall it has to be the best deal for 4K TV on the market. The brightness is excellent, and I have not had any issues with the vertical banding that other reviews have mentioned. Very satisfied with my purchase and hopefully the TV last a good long while.

TCL has good tv here for the price, very good picture quality but does have some minimal vertical banding and shading in 4 corners, tv has a loud smell to it when it is powered on. Overall it a great tv for price, If you get lucky with the panel lottery then have yourself a real winner!

I have had this TV for about a year. One of the best TV buys I have made. Great TV for almost anything: gaming, 4k streaming, 4k blurays. Easy Setup. Intuitive smart features and great remote. Apps and TV firmware are updated regularly. Looks great with a small bezel and LED lights behind.

Pros: -Sharp color -Good black levels -Roku is really fantastic Cons: -Motion handling is pretty bad on this thing. Watching football, I found myself trying to ignore how bad it looked. I really wanted to love this tv, so I kept telling myself "it's not so bad. I can live with that." And then my wife came downstairs and said "this looks horrible. Can you fix that?" Answer: No. Not really. -Corners have vignetting. Basically, it looks like the corners fade to black. This was apparent even on the display TV at the store. But I had read the reviews, and knew that there was a possibility that my TV would be better (or worse). It wasn't as bad as it was on the display model. And in itself, I don't think i would have returned the TV for this. -VERTICAL BANDING. It was awful on the left side of the screen. And once you see this, you'll never unsee it. I was constantly trying to ignore this really obvious defect. In then end, I decided I just couldn't justify spending $600 on something that I wouldn't be happy with. I'd rather wait and save up some more $$ to get something that won't feel like a waste. Conclusion: This TV doesn't deserve the credit it has been given. Blacks and Colors are good. But here's the thing: a tv is made to be watched. And the display issues on this model are just too much to overcome. I knew going into this that the quality was a massive variable on this model. You know, the whole "panel lottery" thing. Gotta play to win, though. I lost. Well, unless you consider reboxing a 55" TV and driving it back to Best Buy, standing in line, and finally processing a return a win. In that case, I won bigtime.

    Nothing comes close...

The reviews are all true. Nothing comes close to the picture quality and interface (Roku's) at even double the price. Sure, Vizio may come close but I couldn't justify the additional cost for less performance. If this is your price range and you're looking for the best you can get, just buy it and stop agonizing over the reviews and details. Mine had no issues that others stated and the color reproduction is awesome, albeit on the warmer side, which can be easily adjusted. On top of that Roku has probably the best interface i've used on any smart tv. now, after all that, my one criticism of this tv is that the screen is pretty reflective and if it's in a bright room where the sun pours in, depending on its placement, you may have to deal with a reflection issue. Other than that, for this price, it's a no brainer.

What else can I say about this TV other than if you’re on a budget and you’re looking for future-proofed features then this TV is for you. The local dimming and HDR have been perfect for gaming on my PS4 Pro. My only issue is I wish they made smaller screens for the P series. 55” is as small as you’ll get.

I've been eyeing this TV for a several years and finally bought it! With the improvements in sound and picture, I'll have to say it was worth the wait. It is my first time using the Roku interface, so that was different (always used Amazon/Alexa) but it takes little to no effort to navigate and move from app to app. Typing out letters and passwords takes a while, not as smooth as say, typing with the on screen keyboard of a PS4. Upon setting up the TV (which was relatively easy), we watched a Blu-ray digital movie and even that looked great on the 4K display. Games on the companion PS4 Pro look amazing! Very rich and vivid. The sound would be the only issue. When watching TV, my fiancee and I have to have the volume to about 45-50, which is about half way up. This shouldn't be too much of a problem in the near future once my surround sound is connected. The TV stand is sturdy, but can wobble a bit, so I bought an anti-tip strap secured to the wall (sold separately).

Amazing picture quality for the price. My first unit was a dud that reboots randomly when starting applications but bestbuy was quick to swap out the unit and the new one works great. Roku OS is fantastic however though the included roku remote get the job done itisn't great.

I had never heard of TCL, until a friend related his experience. I was leaning toward a much more expensive "name" brand but, was impressed with the picture on the display unit. The price sealed the deal, and I've been impressed with the clarity and color of the unit I purchased.

Wow is all I can say. 4K looks amazing on this incredible bidget 4K tv. Even 1080p looks amazing!! The only thing is off angle viewing suffers colors get washed out. But if you are in front and even slightly off. You are good to go!!

We've had the TV for well over a year now. It really is the bee's knees. HDR and DolbyVision look absolutely stunning. The included Roku TV works very well, and the tv's cpu has enough horsepower to make going back and forth in the menus or between apps very fast and smooth.

Pros: The display is awesome! Definitely a competitor with more expensive premium TV manufacturers (Samsung, Sony, LG, etc.) Built in Roku is great as well. Cons: Channel guide is very basic. Not able to go to a direct channel. There are no number buttons on the very basic remote. I bought an after market universal remote with number buttons. They do not work even though the remote is programmed properly. You have to scroll through the channel guide to get to the channel you want. It's very inconvenient. Also the remote is not voice command enabled like most Roku remotes. Bottom line : It is a very good value for the price due to the impressive display. Just disappointed with the very basic remote, very basic channel guide, and inability to go to a direct channel. If you can get past that it's a good buy. Just needs a bit more improvement on the interface.
