Great TV for Great Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this TV as a Christmas present to myself. (my only regret was not holding out for Super Bowl deals). I had no bought a new TV for 10 years so this is a series upgrade for me. Love that the Roku is built in and only one remote control is needed for TV/Roku. It is also very bright!

One of the best value 4K TVs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You’re not going to get the picture of a high end OLED, but you’re also paying a fraction of the cost. The TCL looks nice, has a solid structure, and a great picture. There are some minor banding issues on early models so i would advise to do some testing videos after the initial purchase.

Wow...
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture quality on this tv is fantastic. The colors are strikingly vibrant, especially greens reds and blues. This is expected due to the “quantum” LED technology. Can be distracting at first, but you get used to it quickly. Now regular screens look dull!

Great entry level 4k
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ratings gives this tv a pretty high rating for the price. We managed to duck the panel lottery so we have no complaints save for the Roku interface getting sluggish 1.5 months into owning it. If you can get a panel without issues you are golden as this supports both Dolby vision and hdr.

Great Picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got this TV for our sons for Christmas. They are mainly using it for their PS4 right now, and they love it! The picture is beautiful and the sound is more than adequate. This TV is a great value. As long as the durability meets our expectations, I would definitely recommend it.

Bought it for my wife’s she cave and her Hallmark movies are crystal clear!!!! Very happy with the built in Roku!! Especially since I use PlayStation Vue as my primary tv source!!! Sound is a little low, but not a huge issue.

Best Bang For Your Buck
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this TV for a while now, and for the money it's hands down one of the best deals in TVs today. The picture quality vs the price is outstanding! I've had zero issues and love that its got ROKU backed in. I'm very happy with this purchase!

Bang for Buck, 60 hz though.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is good dollar for dollar. Great image.Roku operating system is o.k.Remote very simple. Low imput lag for games. employees at east side store were a big help telling apart the features of the different brands, and the ones that were actually worth while to us.

Premium picture for a bargain price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned this set for about a week and decided it was time to give my impressions on it. For the price you're paying for this TV can't be beat. It easily puts my Vizio and Sony to shame. Much more vibrant colors and a surprisingly uniform picture. I see a lot of people complaining about vertical banding. To be honest all TV's have it to some degree. I promise if you investigated it on your current TV you'd find banding as well. Obviously there are more extreme cases of banding. I went through 4 Sony exchanges over awful and obvious banding before getting one that was acceptable. Anyway back to this TV. I'm quite satisfied with my purchase considering I've purchased TV's for 3-4 times the cost in the past with lesser picture quality. I'll happily recommend this to my friends and family. There's nothing wrong with exchanging your set if you find defects. It happens to all brands. Even phones and computer monitors will suffer from things like banding and dead pixels.

Terrific value!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TCL 55 in TV has thus far lived up to its reviews. Easy to navigate, outstanding picture quality. I added a Polk soundbar during the purchase, and so I don't know what quality of sound the TCL TV speaker will deliver. I'm delighted with this TV and heartedly recommend it.

Good tv for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not a tech savvy guy but this tv has a great picture with good color (HDR & Dolby vision). So far so good. I'm not a fan of the roku portion not because it's problematic just because I'm not used to roku but it is pretty easy to navigate so not a big deal.

You get what you pay for.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of the box TV was great. incredible colors super nice for gaming and 4k content. Roku is excellent. Now for the bad part. One or two months after manufacturer warranty ended tv started developing 1/2 inch lines that blink constantly also tv flashes with blinking lines. The lines started very thin, on the bottom right to center. Over time lines have grown (see pictures). Now I have a tv that still has great picture quality where there are no blinking lines and a flashing screen.

Great picture quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture quality with HDR. Sound is good and over all screen size doesn't take awake from picture sharpness. Great tv for its buck. This tv has great potential in its competitive market. I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with my purchase.

Great TV
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gave this review five stars mostly because of price. For $500 this 4K TV exceeds expectations works very well, and the Roku interface is a good one. If there was a negative, I would say that I don't like that the TV automatically launches to Roku and you have to go through the interface to change inputs every time you turn on the TV. Now mind you there is a setting where you can have it go directly to a specific input but it always defaults straight to the Roku interface. But all in all for a $500 TV, TCL really knocks this out of the park. I cannot stress how great of a deal this was. 55-in 4K TV for $500 is unheard of and definitely a great deal for a second or even in my case third TV.

I own 3 of these.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use them as monitors for my computers. It's hard to beat the bang for the buck on this model. Great for Movies, games, work, etc. Roku built-in is a great plus, and the rewind feature from the TV using a 4K antenna is fantastic.

55 is the new 65
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First if you want to pay a premium then move on to the 65” or bigger but I didn’t see the value in the price bump. The picture quality of the TCL is an exceptional value. Got it right before the World Cup semifinals and it does well with minimal blur. Movies are great with the contrast and you don’t lose the picture in the dark scenes. Aesthetically it is a pretty TV too with a very slim frame done in gun metal grey which also continues on the back panel instead of a black plastic back shell on most TVs in these price ranges. The one annoying thing (that I need to check settings and hopefully can change) is it doesn’t default to an input channel so you must select it each time you power up. Not really a big deal at all.

||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV was easy to set up. Roku platform is the best in terms of navigation. Picture quality is great. Lots of input/output ports. Works best with a soundbar or speaker system. Over all a great TV. I'm happy with the purchase.

Great value but did have one dead pixel.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought based on Cnet recommendation, it really is a great value. I was a hold out with my two plasma Panasonic's. My 720p 13 year old TV was a beast! It had a natural looking picture with great black levels, it was on life support the last year and it finally went. I had to buy a replacement ASAP, I had been watching other reviews for the 6 series from TCL for a while and made the purchase the day the TV went DOA. Love it so far, still don't live the comic book looking look kinda the the true digitally shot content and I never will. This is a great value low cost big TV. When my larger Panasonic TV goes I'll be looking to get an LG OLED as those are the best pictures currently available on all TVs now. But didn't have the budget this time to splurge. I'll update as time goes on.

Excellent TV - With Caveats*
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This television has picture quality that matches or exceeds that of higher end televisions. After going through a professional calibration, images popped and visual clarity was amazing. The sound quality was average, but I use a surround system and wasn’t affected by this. The Roku software, while intuitive, does take some getting used to. It also affects the start up time of the set and can not be bypassed. The sets software also does not play well with gaming systems set to turn on devices. Overall this set is great and picture quality is top tier. The drawbacks are minimal, but specific enough that they could be deal breakers.
