This TV has a good picture but there are several issues that make me wish I purchased a different TV. The remote is very slow to respond and often will double click when you just want to move once. Also why so few buttons, all you really need is a few more to add needed functionality. The network loses connection frequently, I have both wired and wireless setup and often have to switch back and forth between the two options to establish a connection. I also lose my subscription information for my streaming services and have to laboriously input my user name and password again and again. Picture lags with sports or action sequences, just enough to notice.

      Hello pageturner,

We're sorry to hear that you are experiencing some trouble with your TV. For the remote, you may want to re-pair it with the TV to see if this makes a difference. Additionally, you can download the free Roku app on your smartphone or tablet to use with your TCL Roku TV. By using the app you can use voice search, voice control, and experience private listening. In addition, you will also gain access to more settings and Smart features. As for the Internet connection and apparent lag, we would like to look into this so that we can better understand what you are seeing. We'd like to gather more information to see if we can isolate what is occurring, and better understand the behavior of the TV. Please reach out to us at [email protected] with your contact information and reference this review, and someone will get back to you right away.

      Thank you,

    2.5K "faux"K TV - Like looking through a fish-net

I really don't believe this panel is true-4k, if you look up close you will notice, it borrows neighboring sub-pixels instead of having full red, green, blue subpixels for each pixel, very much like PENTILE display. You get what you pay for. A+ for HDR and Color Gamut though. Really vivid colors and bright HDR highlights. A 1080p TV from a years ago looks much better up-close than this "faux-K" panel tv. This "faux"K TV gives a bad-name to 4K. If you've been waiting for a real-4K upgrade for your eyes, this TV is NOT THE ONE.

      Hello,

We're sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your TV and that you were not able to see the same great picture quality a majority of our customers are seeing. We have glowing reviews on many professional reviewing sites and also from our customers. So it is a bit baffling to hear otherwise. The problems that you have described are definitely odd, and not normal for our TV. This TV has a true 4K resolution. We'd like to gather more information to see if we can isolate what is occurring. Please reach out to us at [email protected] with your contact information and reference this review, and someone will get back to you right away.

I loved this TV, excellent picture quality, excellent LED panel but it doesn't support Apple TV or Spectrum's remote control, so controlling TV with two remote controls is a hassle. Whenever you fix this I will return and buy it again.

Awesome tv. Great for streaming and video gaming. Not so great for basic cable with coaxial cable. Awesome with a digital cable box of any kind. No numbers on remote and not a voice remote. But the tv is great otherwise. Our menu loads slow and the remote is slow navigating through menus.

The tv is built nice, cool aluminum frame, has good picture quality but sometimes it glitches watching Netflix or Hulu. The sales guy did mention this could happen because it needs a better processor so not a bad review on customer service

the operating system is super easy to use, especially with Netflix., which we use all the time. I have two other TV's. One is a smart TV like this and the other uses chromecast. The chromecast system is a pain, I have to reset it all the time. The smart system on my other TV is good, but this one is better.

Difficult to connect due to lack of manufacturer's instructions. Connecting soundbar information is confusing and other questions need to be answered by a pay website. Great picture though. Remote provided has no transmit range.

Because of the research we did we were sure we would purchase a 55" TCL TV but we were not sure which series we would buy. The store did not have the 6 Series TV but we purchased it because of the clear and detailed explanation of the model's features and differences that the associate gave us.

Got this TV to replace a Samsung 60" that developed a dark cloud in the middle of the picture. Read all the great reviews, so I jumped in at Black Friday prices. Everything seemed solid at first, but then I started noticing the HDMI/CEC was buggy and inconsistent (having to rediscover devices constantly, sometimes it wouldn't work at all and I'd have to switch inputs manually, etc). Another weird bug is that one day motion-smoothing got stuck ON (even though it was OFF in the settings). I had to restart the TV to turn it off. Then yesterday, motion-smoothing got stuck ON again, but only on one HDMI input (Apple TV), and restarting the TV hasn't helped. I think I'm done with TCL televisions.

For around $600, this really works. The Roku functionality is similar to what you see with a current Roku. It's worth noting that even though it's 4K, not all services (like amazon prime) will deliver 4k content to it. It's easiest to set up if you use the Roku app from your smartphone.

After reading the reviews on this tv, and after years of exclusively buying Samsung and Sony TVs, I took a leap of faith. Much to my surprise THIS TV IS AWESOME. Makes me wonder why I didn't make the jump before. Don't be like me....don't wait....buy this TV today and you will not be disappointed.

I was excited to get this tv based on the reviews it received on ratings.com etc, which rated it highly. It's a nice looking tv, and the Roku features worked well. However, the picture quality was mediocre at best. I tried various sources, including Amazon Prime Video, for 4k content as well as Dolby Digital, and nothing made any difference. In fact, my 5 year old Sony Bravia had much better color. I attempted to make adjustments using my graphics card dashboard (AMD RX-580 8gb) and eventually discovered that the TCL is limited to 8-bit color. My Sony will go 8, 10, and 12 bit color. Then everything made sense. 8-bit color is the lowest, and 12 bit is the best. So even though the TCL can process 4K video with advertised wide color gamut and Dolby Digital, the color scheme is still limited to 8-bit. In comparison, my Sony Bravia at 1080p 12-bit seemed to have much greater range of colors...you can see many more shades and variations in color. Well I didn't buy a new TV to get worse quality than my old Sony so I returned the TCL. I have tried many so called 4K tvs (I sell electronics) and many people get fooled into thinking 4K is the most important thing. Yes, 4K creates a clear picture, but the important thing is color - a clear picture with bland color is no good. Further more, most budget 4K tvs are running at 8-bit color. So before you buy, find out if the tv is 8, 10, or 12 bit capable. Avoid tvs that aren't at least 10 bit panels. Also, as to the TCL, the speakers were terrible. Very buzzy if you turn up the volume even half way. Super cheap. Honestly, I see no reason why anybody should buy the TCL. But that's true of virtually all 4K tvs out there - unless you get OLED or QLED, you are getting old LCD and LED technology. I will not try another tv now until OLED and QLED tvs come down in price. No 4k tv I have tried matches my Sony Bravia which is a true 120hz, 12-bit 1080p tv. And after 5 years it's still going strong.
