TCL tv

But I'd gotten it for the family room, so that we could all watch TV together. But, the TV blurs out images of the people on screen, as they're faces appear blurry and unclear.

Not 120hz

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned it because the 55" version did not offer 120hz at the time I think the 75" or maybe the bigger version only offered it or maybe it was the 42" but yes this one itself did not have 120hz and it's odd how a TV Company can introduce a new standard that blows away conventional television such as going from Standard 480p to 720p and then in this case we had 60hz TV's then 120hz....why would they even make 60hz anymore its like making a 55" 720p TV......if you're buying a TV of that size beyond the year of 2012 you want to have 120hz and unfortunately they for some reason still make these Obsolete outdated versions. Probably wasted $20 in Gasoline driving back and forth to bestbuy buying then returning.

Screen went black but I could hear channel audio, although greatly reduced. In hindsight, the past few weeks I've had to turn the volume up more and more just to hear it. Possibly a harbinger of more serious issues? Followed TCL's reboot and reset instructions (basically to confirm its toast). I suspect it needs a new main board but can't find parts for it anyway. I really thought it was a great value because of the nice picture. Now, after 15 months, I wish I had simply bought a higher quality TV and not rolled the dice on TCL. I would advise against spending your hard earned cash on this TV.
