    This TV is very easy to set up, connect to your internet and start streaming. There’s a “vivid” picture quality option that greatly enhances the picture and a numerous sound modes to fit your style. I like the “big bass” sound mode. If you have a sound bar, there’s an HDMI arc slot for even higher quality sound. Overall I’m happy with this purchase. It makes for a great bedroom TV.

    It has excellent picture quality and sound. I couldn’t believe the difference between our previous Toshiba fire tv to this tv. The details are more crisp. Honestly for the price, it can’t be beat! I compared with several stores and this was the most reasonably priced and best reviewed tv

    TV was an upgrade from a Samsung 55' MU8000 from 2018, Picture quality is superb and with the Google TV and auto selection between HDR-10 and Dolby Vision content is a 10.

    I just love my TCL GOOGLE TV. I like that I can press the button on remote and the menu pops out on the bottom. The picture quality is awesome it looks like the people are right in front of me and not on television screen.

  • Black Friday Price is a Steal

    I had my eye on the 50" version of this product line at Best Buy for $250. But I was holding out for Black Friday. I hoped that Amazon would offer the Hisense ULED fire TV 50" for $200 like they did on Prime Day. But when I saw This display for $230, I had to go for it. I first inquired about the 50" model thinking it would be discounted further, but it is not. For some odd reason, the 55" "door buster" is $20 cheaper than the 50" of the same model line. Look, this is not the world's greatest display. It's an entry level QLED. That's exactly what I was in the market for. Its only job is to sit next to my 77" OLED on game days so I can throw up a bunch of football/hockey/etc. games at once while I glut myself in my man cave. QLED is notably brighter than the regular LED stuff like the 4-series TCL offers. I would have preferred a Roku OS, but that costs more. And Google TV isn't bad. It's just not as polished for controlling with my phone (the Roku app is phenomenal for controlling a ton of devices in the same room via wifi). If you are considering a 50" or 55" entry level display, get this! Sony makes a full array (not qled) that's better. I'm sure the mini LED (QNED) LGs are better, but those are significantly higher price points than other non-QLED displays. The only thing I've ever seen close to this value was the 50" Hisense ULED for Prime Day, and it was invite only. There's eARC. on this and that's about it. There's also an rj45 connector if you want to run a hard line instead of wifi. the Best Buy website says the display is direct lit. it appeared edge lit to me upon first viewing. you can really tell during dark scenes like credit scrolls at the end of a movie. I didn't bother to check. sorry. but I'll come back and verify if I find it is actually edge lit.

    I have two tcl series 5 and both tvs are great for the price, I got them during black Friday sales and you can't beat it. image is good, the only issue is that you will need an external device to stream content, Google tv that comes with tv software is sluggish, but get yourself a fire stick or stand alone Google tv and you are all set.

    Can't really find any fault in this TV. Brightness and color accuracy is solid. As a bonus it has Google TV as it's OS so it's easy to cast to it from any device. The price was outstanding for a mid to high level 55 inch TV! It's a win in my book. I also own the 65 inch version.

    The picture is amazing. The darks are really dark, the brights are really bright. The colors pop and the images are crisp. My only complaint is that its a pretty slow tv. Hitting menu buttons will sometimes freeze the screen which is very inconvenient. I may have to buy extra storage just to try and boost the TV processing.

    Nice clean screen. All the settings are easy. The sound is actually good. I thought I had the surround sound on but it was actually just the TV. That is a plus with me. Sound is crucial.

    Great buy especially at the black Friday price point. Still tweaking the calibration settings for the best pic. Not sure I am big fan of the QLED super bright colors, they look unrealistic at times. But at this price point its an excellent TV for everyday use.

    I got this at a super great price for my elderly father. Unfortunately HE is extremely technically challenged. I am just mediocre at best. I bought a TCL soundbar to boost his sound. We have the tv on the provided stands with the soundbar sitting on the TV stand in front of TV. Unfortunately, this blocks the TV's sensor, so turning on/off etc is quite challenging. We are using the provided adaptor for this problem and have that on top of the soundbar, however, it is still an issue. Hopefully as time goes by, and skill sets improve, it will get easier. Is hard to give a full review.

    Very easy to setup and a lot better than expected. The picture is amazing. I did set it up with my google account but it was not required. Very easy to navigate through the menus. No complaints at all and already planning to buy another one for the house.

    So far it has been a suprisingly good TV for the price. It supports 4k 60hz, 1440p 120hz. The colors look much better than a standard LED 4k TV. The UI is relatively snappy as well. It supports Dolby Vision and Chromecast as well. I bought it as a black friday deal for 299.99 and it has a lot of bang for the buck.
