I'm highly frustrated by the tv choosing to change the input viewed every time o turn on the tv.... haven't had the time to dig online for reasons why it will constantly switch from my cable box to my blu ray player and now even my son's gaming system when the other devices either turn on or, in the case of the Blu ray, when the entire system (tv, sound bar and cable box) turns on. Also having difficulty getting my tivo/cable box remote to control the inputs of the tv so currently I have to keep two remotes out when powering up the tv...

But the speakers, though they are certainly okay, leave a bit to be desired. It might even just be the programming; no audio pre-set feels as rich or full as my last TV, which was a comparable Hisense. The visuals are great, though! Very vibrant colors and deep dark blacks. I also appreciate the bluetooth functionality, so I can use earbuds when I'm watching TV late at night and not worry if I'm disturbing my neighbors. :)

Comparing this to my LG nano cell 55", which is advertised to have an excellent motion rate but actually does not at all, the TCL is superior in that category. I see no blurring in fast-acting scenes and motions on this TCL. The remote control is well designed, it's a little different than the remote with other TVs, but it's very easy to use after a short time using it. While other brands I have found the remote controls infuriating to try to use, the TCL remote is easy to use and works well. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because you have to use it at least 85% brightness to avoid having the background too dark and since these type of TVs get dimmer over time naturally, you have to keep raising the percentage of the brightness and you don't have much farther to go until you are at 100%. After that the picture will just get dimmer as it ages over the years. Secondly, it does not upscale older programming as well as my LG nano cell. And finally, it has acted up a couple of times after the first month of use. Once I touched a remote control button and the whole screen was filled with Chinese writing - hundreds of words, but one touch of the back button got rid of that. On another day, I went into the home menu and it just sat there for about 2 minutes with the framework showing but no writing and then it straightened itself out. Another time I turned it on and for some reason it took about two full minutes to come on instead of the usual 10 or 15 seconds. I hope this is not a prelude to up-and-coming problems. I did get the TV cheap- $230 for a qled 55 in, so I think quite a bit of it for the bargain. Overall, an excellent TV so far. .

Interesting that this Q5 was on a delayed release as the Q6, Q7, and Q8 came out months ago. That, or it is an exclusive line under Best Buy. Regardless, very smooth picture and easy set up. $100 less for this 55” than a Q6 55” would be. I have no complaints 1 day in. Cheers.
