    Poor Quality + Deceptive Warranty = Buyer Beware!

    I purchased this TCL 55" Q7 Q-Class QLED 4K HDR Smart TV on February 3rd, 2024 to use primarily as the basement Xbox TV. In May 2024, I noticed that there was a defective pixel on the screen that stayed lit green and wouldn't change. Because the TV was outside of Best Buy's 30 day guarantee, I reached out to TCL since they warranty the TV for the first year from manufacturer's defects (which this clearly was). After trouble shooting the problem with TCL's tech, I was given a link to file a warranty claim and I did so, including pictures of the problem (see pics in my review). When I received TCL's response to my warranty claim, I was shocked and disappointed to read that they "noticed that the dead pixel visible on your TV does not meet the number of dead pixels covered by the manufacturer's warranty." TCL's Limited Warranty posted on their website doesn't mention a pixel threshold for qualifying for a manufacturer's defect. However, when I complained I was directed to an obscure section of their website where they note that for this particular TV, it can have up to SIXTEEN defective pixels and still be considered an acceptable number of defects!!! SIXTEEN! Here's the link in case you want to see it for yourself. https://support.tcl.com/rokutv-common-questions/01-tcl-pixel-policy If that's the case, then I STRONGLY recommend you look into another brand of TV that has a higher quality control standard and stands firmly behind their products. I think it's really shady that TCL would hide and obscure this portion of their warranty from the consumer and frankly, question why Best Buy is selling such a poor quality product in their stores. Buyers should be extremely cautious about purchasing any TV from a company like TCL that thinks it's acceptable quality to have up to 16 bad pixels on one of their TVs.

    TCL = The Cheap Lemon. It ain’t worth it y’all.

    Don’t get suckered by the price. Cheap things ain’t good and good things ain’t cheap. This TV is a perfect example. Had it barely six months and the screen went black. Customer service kept making me send videos of the tv not working as proof and it was so annoying. Then they finally send a technician out who did absolutely nothing so they said they’re sending a new TV. Took the new TV out of the box and plugged it in and the screen was absolutely destroyed. They didn’t even send it in a box marked “fragile” just a plain brown that was creased like an accordion. Called customer service back and they wouldn’t do squat. Told me send more pictures and videos and somebody would get back to me. Just spend the extra money and get a real tv from a real company. Going a month without a TV isn’t worth the savings. Boooooo TCL. Do better.

    Defective Display - Poor Customer Support

    It was defective right out of the box. Weird blots throughout the bottom of the screen and a large dark spot in the middle of the screen. I had to go back and forth with TCL Support and go lengths to prove the obvious… that the display was defective… After a little over a month they finally agreed to send me a replacement. Hopefully this one won’t be damaged too.

    Don't buy this tcl Q7

    Anytime I switch between my Xbox and back to the native apps I noticed the screen having this red saturated problem faces got really red and I've looked up and I found out this problem has been going on with TCL TVs for a while.

    There is damage. Best Buy telephone support said they can’t help me and instead I have to leave a review. This is silly and wasted a lot of my time.

    After 15 months tv started randomly turning off on its own... several times per day n got worse. Internal Power supply issue seems to be the case ( which alot people online dealt with with TCL tvs ingeneral) and sadly passed 1 year warranty....if gonna buy any TCL tv make sure to buy extended warranty...what a waste of money. While it was working, tv picture quality was great for the price, great bright ness for HDR content and had all latest hdr tech needed for your living room movie theater needs...

    I do not recommend buying this TV especially not for gaming. The inverse ghosting is terrible and very noticeable when using VRR. Apparently this is a known TCL issue across many of their displays. Half the of time when I start the TV there is no audio, I have to restart the TV from the menu to regain audio. Picture quality is good for the price but nothing to write home about nor is it above similar TVs in the price range without the above issues.

    Without hesitation or exaggeration, this has been one of the worst shopping / customer experiences in my lifetime. I researched extensively and chose this TV, but I highly regret it. Only 2 weeks after I received the unit, stuck pixels started appearing when in Game Master mode. It seems that the TV is experiencing an issue processing the picture specifically when VRR mode is active. Game Master is the primary reason that I bought the model in the first place. Not only that, but these issues began 2 days after my ridiculous 15-day return window ended. It should be criminal that the respectable solution of a 30-day return is locked behind a paywall. I only have so much money, trusted the TCL brand and chose to transact with Best Buy. So now, I've been struggling with a warranty claim through TCL for almost a month. Almost a month. I've sent videos of the issue, I've sent photos of the issue. I've had phone calls, online chats and email conversations. But I'm still waiting, without any bit of clarity to what the timeline or possible solution could be. At this point, TCL or Best Buy COULD fix or replace my TV. But they seemingly aren't interested and they can never make good for the time in my life that I've lost on this or the stress that I've endured while dealing with this nightmare.

    I owned this TV for one year and one month. The "one month" being critical as it pushed it out of warranty. Started flickering, going dim, and died. I've never had a TV die so quickly. Very disappointed.

    This TV is horrible. The operating system is so bad. It constantly goes between the inputs not allowing you to watch the streaming shows you want to watch you are forced to use their apps which don’t work very well. And if you want to use an outside sound system, be ready for a long periods of trying to figure out why the TV will not output the sound signal..

    I strongly discourage others from making this mistake. Bought it to get android interrace like my Sony, but two died in less than a month. The first one was immediate, the next one went in a “death loop of restarts” after a month. Get a better brand and save it headaches I experienced…

    I returned this tv. Some content had amazing images, some content was fuzzy and unwatchable. The upscaling on local tv stations received by an antenna was bad, and way worse than the Samsung led tv from 2008 that this tv replaced. I am now looking at spending more money. I will get an entry level oled or mini led. Don't waste your valuable time and money on this tcl q7.

    Possible Issues with This TCL Model

    My new TCL TV was delivered and installed at the end of June 2023. It died on 10.15.2023. TV was turned on with nothing viewable but a black screen After spending time on the phone with TCL Support, they determined the issue was with the TV. Apparently there are problems with this model's back light. Now I'm in limbo with no TV waiting for TCL to hopefully replace. I'm an older customer unable to lift heavy items and paid extra for Best Buy to install. If the tv is replaced, I'll need a friend or family member to assist me. I will update this review once a resolution is provided by TCL.

    TV stopped working after 3 weeks and Best buy said they couldn't help because it was more than 14 days. We purchased a 5 year geek squad warranty plan that clearly states that it begins on the day of purchase but Best buy made us go through the manufacturer to get a replacement. It was a huge hassle and took over 2 weeks. We had no TV for the Superbowl. The best part is that Best buy is who delivered the new TV for the manufacturer. Also, got stuck with a broken TV that I had to pay 30 bucks to get rid of at the local dump. Will not be spending my money with Best buy ever again. They are a horrible company with even worse customer service.

    Wouldn't recommend if pairing with PC

    I wouldn't recommend this TV if you're primarily going to be using it with a PC like I do. I bought this TV instead of $200 cheaper models specifically because it was advertised to support 4k 120hz. The maximum I've found it to support with my PC is 1440p 120hz. Further, it has real issues with dual screen set up. My PC is connected to a monitor and this TV. For some reason games won't play on my TV at 1440p without my monitor also being on. If I turn the monitor off in the settings the TV can only run 120 hz at 1080p. Anytime I want to switch from the TV to the monitor without having the monitor on I have to go into NVIDA's Control Panel and turn the one I'm not using off. I've used this same PC with 2 other TVs and never had this issue.

    Bought with the impression of having very good for series 6 and 8 but got very bad on this series 7. Ofcourse TV was cheaper than market but my $300 and 5 year old Samsung led tv gives me more good and proper picture quality.

    Came out of the box broken!!

    Bought this TV, took it home set it up on my wall and found out that the soeakers were broken right out of the box! I tried everything to get them to work, including a factory reset. I called the TCL customer support number and it doesnt even ring just hangs up! Took it back to Best Buy and told one of the workers first thing he said to me was “im not surprised, we see a lot of people returning their TCL tv’s within a year of their purchase date. I’d highly recommend not buying anythinf from this company! I was told to stick with Sony or LG if you want reliability and the least returned brands overtime! I’ll never consider any from TCL ever again.
