Sound is acceptable and much better than the last tv we had. The sales guy must get some kind of incentive to direct people to TCL brand, because all he could say was this tv was so much better and so much this and so much that. I went in set to buy a different brand and it was like I wasn’t allowed to buy that one. Anyway, I told him that i’d be bringing it back if I wasn’t happy with it. It’s fine for the money I had to spend.

Google TV was a little more difficult to set up than Roku, but we got it working with all of the other devices eventually. The picture is great. No need to pay out the nose for higher quality graphics, in my opinion. For the price, this TV is a great value! We bought the 5-yr Geek Squad Protection just in case, there are issues, but so far so good!

I can't put my finger on exactly what that thing is, but it is something. Or possibly, I just think the deal was too good to be true and I am making it up in my head. Either way, the size is perfect and I like to watch it. If you want a larger Smart TV and aren't a stickler about specs, it is a good buy, not the best, but good and better than any I have had before.

The only issue i have and it could be me, but i prefer not having the remote function with turning on all but then doesn't produce function. I would actually like to make it where they don't run on same frequency so i don't have to worry about effecting the other when turning different one on.

Great Upgrade for Older Tech TVs

We had a hand me down first or generation 720p smart TV. It was probably time to chuck that thing a few years ago. That being said, this TCL 4k TV is pretty great coming from that. Is it comparable to a $3,000 4k tv? No. Is it a huge upgrade for someone with a clunky 720p first or second generation smart TV? Absolutely. The sound by itself is okay. It seems pretty crisp and clear. But I ended up also getting a Samsung soundbar to give us some good bass tones. The brightness is nice. Our apartment is pretty sunny as it’s hit by the sun at all directions and the picture is still bright. The Google TV part was kinda odd. But it seems very responsive and it’s cool it keeps track of what I’m watching on all my apps. So I can just select to continue something instead of trying to remember what app I was watching something on. I would definitely recommend this one if you have a pretty tight budget and upgrading from something with significantly older tech.

Paired with my Google account, the set up was a breeze. This TV is slooooow though. There are TVs with much quicker quicker processers out there where you won't be waiting around for your remote to do anything after turning it on. Also, the native sound is lacking. Other than that, it's a great TV with beautiful picture.
