The menus don't feel laggy, the picture quality and colors look good but, it is a fairly dim tv. A brighter display would have gotten the fifth star. If all you need a simple tv for cable or streaming and your room is/can be dark, don't hesitate to buy this tv. However, if you'll be watching during the day in a bight room, you may want to consider other options.

You can access the Options menu on the TV by pressing the asterisk (*) button on your remote while watching content. Additionally, you can access expert picture settings by downloading the free Roku mobile app on a smartphone or tablet. The Roku mobile app works as a remote and allows you to access additional features like voice search, private listening, expert picture settings, and more. I'm not sure... but I did get the additional purchase plan after the TCL I originally bought made a crackling/buzzing sound and there was a flash from the back and then the smell of an electrical burning **within 48 hours of purchase** but fingers crossed this one will be a winner. Picture is as good if not better than my daughter's $3000 Samsung. She told me so.

Separate Customization for Movies and Games!

The set comes with useful picture and sound adjustments that allow separate customization for movies and games. This was important as the default settings were a bit bland for our taste. Brightness and sound are solid. HDR+ is great! Great entry-level 4K set. Wish it had 120Hz refresh for games but you can't get everything for that price.
