Crap Product

Based on everything I am reading this is a known issue with this TV. While TCL is aware they will do nothing about it because it's beyond the warranty period. I will not be purchasing this brand again.

Great while it lasted!

Screen went black and ALL troubleshooting efforts failed. Backlight had apparently died. Only had the 1 year manufacturer warranty (that's on me), but c'mon less than 2 years old. Enjoy while you've got it!

There are options available to adjust the picture settings to better fit your personal preference. You can access the Options menu on the TV by pressing the asterisk (*) button on your remote while watching content. Additionally, you can access expert picture settings by downloading the free Roku mobile app on a smartphone or tablet. The Roku mobile app works as a remote and allows you to access additional features like voice search, private listening, expert picture settings, and more. The sound level of different types of content is dictated by the content provider and even varies from channel to channel. You can try different audio settings to see if one works better for you. Additionally, some customers elect to add a soundbar to enhance their experience. This TV can be connected to a soundbar through HDMI ARC, Optical Audio Out, or the headphone jack. Hope this helps!

Great TV, Unless it Breaks. GET THE WARRANTY!

For about 8 months, then it started showing faults in the display, interference patters, streaks, in the bottom 8 inches of the TV. To be honest, it wasn't that noticeable, as these video artifacts were extremely faint, and it was still totally watchable. But...a couple months after that, it began turning itself off after about 2 hours of viewing; then it shut off after 1 hour, after 10 minutes, and now it stays on for about 6 seconds, and shuts off. Now, to be fair, I'm the one who allowed BestBuy's one year guarantee to expire; we were dealing with two hurricanes (Laura and Delta) which damaged our house, and the TV got put away and we forgot about it. So, I'll pay to have it fixed. But, if the repair cost is too high, I might be better off getting a new one.

Best buy said they could not fix it because it was after 3 weeks and I had geek squad protection. SO I AM OUT OF $500.00 Stay far away from this tv

If you’re looking for “wow”, this isn’t it. I liked the Roku system. If you’re looking for a large picture on a budget, this is a good buy. We returned it and opted for a Sony Bravia. My husband wanted “wow”. And we got it for 4 times the price of the TCL.

Loses WiFi connection daily

I brought the first one home and mounted it on the wall - no easy task by myself! That tv just died within a week. I bought the BestBuy protection plan so I called them to come repair or replace only to find out I have to call TCL technical “support”. After three very frustrating calls with people who “speak” English as a second language and can provide no support I took the tv off the wall and returned it to BestBuy. I should have bought another brand but I just exchanged it for another TCL Roku set. This one hasn’t died yet and I’ve not shot it- yet, but it is not a quality TV set. It loses WiFi connection daily and will not reconnect. Beware before you buy a TCL Roku smart tv. Spend a few extra bucks and get a reliable brand somewhere else.

Great picture but does not fully function

If you DO NOT use Netflix, this is a great set. Netflix DOES NOT work with this TV. No clue whether this is a Roku or TCL issue but after at least 15 hours on the phone with tech support neither will own the issue and I have actually had to plug in a fire stick to get Netflix on my brand new "smart" tv. SOOOO disappointed in TCL and Roku support, I will not purchase another of this brand. They are not interested in customer service at all. Roku is slightly better. At least they have a forum... But they just do nothing with the 11 plus pages of complaints about this.

Great Price but bad product

We have had this TV for around 1 year and at least once a week we either lose Audio or there is a lag between Video and Audio. The only solution is hitting the reset button at the back of the TV and have it reboot :(
