    DOESN'T SUPPORT DTS AUDIO!!!

    My expectations for this TV were high after seeing the 2020 R635, and the 2021 R646 and the great picture quality and value. This TV looks good and almost improved upon the last 2 iterations, but has SERIOUS flaws. I spent hours testing features and troubleshooting and the deal breaker was it doesn't support DTS audio. This is a HUGE omission! Sure you can do Atmos pass through and emulation of other formats, but even with my xbox one x plugged directly into the soundbar, the TV somehow manages to block the passthrough of DTSX movies (which works on my old TV from 2016), so while you can passthrough Atmos, if you have a single DTSX movie (which is pretty likely), then it will fail to load until you disable all passthrough. You have to do lossy formats instead, including for atmos if you want all formats. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?! Beware, after researching other TVs of 2022, it looks like there are a few TVs following a trend of omitting DTS passthrough... Also, the AV (RCA) jack doesn't work. The sound comes through but the image is all scrambled like it doesn't understand how to process it. I've got older video game consoles that work perfectly on other TVs and inputs, but don't work on the AV jack and it's not either of my adapters. I think they just bank on nobody using it. When I called TCL support for both of these issues, they essentially wrote both off and there was nothing they can do. Also the CEC features don't work completely. the TV will turn on and off as necessary but it won't auto-switch inputs even though I've toggled that setting over and over. Do they even test these TVs? Minor note that the 144Hz is only for 1080p which I thought was very misleading. Also I think this panel is actually a 4096 x 2160 instead of a typical 3840 x 2160 4k because that was the default for PC on a few things and I was getting some weird formatting on various older 4:3 content. Just messes everything up by manufacturing the wrong size panel! Who's in charge over there? Also Roku demands you to set up an account to even use your TV if you connect to the net, which is so fascist.

    my tv didn’t come with stand legs. It would been nice to use it straight back in the box the funny thing is it said inspected by best buy thanks guys

    The tv picture quality was great but I do not know what was wrong with the sound, I was getting some kind of static noise from the tv, the customer support at best buy and tcl both were really bad and no one is interested in resolving my problem. Such a waste of time and money.

    Constantly freezes

    Constantly freezes, shuts off, no audio or terrible feedback. Can barely make it through an episide wo having to restart the tv, sometime multiple times. TV is 3 months old and barely works.

    Bought open box but Condition is not good

    Bought open box tv from foxpoint, didnt come with stand(legs) or remote. Bought those and set it up only yo find more scratches in the bootom of tv. Now it becomes difficult to return tv(as i have invested the money. Not many options provided by customer support, they said manager from best buy store will call me yet to receive any callback. So not good customer service.

    Item has a marking on the screen. Best buy has been horrible with contact every time you call it gives you a busy single. Or it just hands up when the prompt is over. I have yet to be able to even watch the tv. Review is more based on best buy than it is the tv...

    Tv never worked

    We were excited to get this TV, but when setting up the TV turned on then then suddenly turned dark gray/black. We were never able to get the picture back on the tv and even called TCL support who told us to return it or activate one year warranty. We returned it and got something else.

    Garbage

    TV needs to to have a system reset at least once or twice daily because the screen begins to flicker. I fell for the hype, and regret it. I also bought the fancy TCL soundbar, which loses connection to the TV every few hours.

    Fried during software update

    I had issues with the TV out of the box. It was stuck in a setup loop. After a few youtube videos i was able to reset it and get it setup. After 4 months an update showed up. I agreed and have not had it working in 5 days. TCL support is horrible, i have sent them 3 bideos showing it does not work and they still wont authorize a tech. Not sure what to do at this point, ive done all troubleshooting possible and basically out $1,000 at this point.

    Grey spots!!!

    Our tv had grey spots on the bottom quadrant of the screen. We thought maybe it was a fluke but then after returning saw the same thing on the display model! It’s a shame because it looked amazing other than that. We decided to go with a different brand.
