Reboots randomly

Although the picture is great, this TV has some major problems, mainly that it randomly reboots itself. Some days it will be ok, others it might reboot 3 times. No amount of factory resets will fix this. I suspect TCL had some flaws in manufacturing?

Dead on Arrival

A 1min login took me like 10mins. For those having the issue, press and hold the little pair button on the back of the remote, when the light blinks, press and hold home and back button. That should repair the remote to the TV and fix the issue. Flickering, backlight would go off every couple minutes the only way I could get it back was by using the reset command on the remote (Homex5, rewindx5... and so on). Online customer service is useless, "this was purchased at a store, we cannot help..." like at all. Now I have to rent another truck and drive this thing back to a store. Like I have all the time in the world.

It was great, until it wasn't.

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did my research before making a purchase and read lots about how this model has features comparable to more expensive big names for less money but while still being a quality purchase/value. Set it up at home at the end of October and couldn't have been happier! Everything seemed great. After a few weeks we turned the TV on and it made a screeching sound, high pitched and the normal audio was not there. The only way we could solve the issue was to go into settings and "restart" the TV. After restart it would be fine....until the next time it did it again and again and again. Haven't been able to find a way to force the TV to do it, it only seems to happen with the luck of the draw. I was watching TV a couple nights ago and using my bluetooth earbuds through the Roku app so as to not wake up my family. After watching my show I took my earbuds out and turned off the sound mode from the app and the TV did it again, screeched loudly enough to wake up my wife. I had to "restart" it just so I could turn it off to go to bed. Needless to say it seems to be a hit or miss issue when I look it up online with TCL TV's. It looks as though a return is in my future for this.

Very poor quality control

This television restarts on its own periodically. There is also a terrible lip sync issue that is very inconsistent. I called TCL and they had me do a factory reset. The tech said if that doesnt work they would have to send a repair tech....for a tv that is less than one month old. I am guessing that TCL televisions are a bit of a lottery purchase. You may get a good one, but you may not. If the factory reset doesn't work I will be returning it and purchasing another brand. My advice is to shell out a few more dollars and buy a different brand. My living room Vizio tv has been flawless for three years. I regret not getting another one.

Remote was laggy and TV randomly turned on

However, the remote was so laggy and unresponsive even with the latest firmware. The TV also randomly turned on, i tried resetting the TV and changing the batteries but without success.

Replacement was perfect

Quick moving objects show as tiles. Backlight flickers when moving through applications. One of the worst TV's I've ever purchased. I have a serie 4 TCL that blows this out of the water and it's a lot cheaper.

Was good for a great TV for movies and gaming. After some research I felt this would meet my need and it has. Great picture and gaming on it is absolutely awesome.

Came broken

Soon as I got it out the box I noticed a long crack from the top left side down into the middle of the screen. Tried swapping it out nope. Wouldn't let me so I returned it vowing to retry after the holidays. Specs wise it's the best for under 1k If it goes on sale at 800 it's a must buy
