Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the 65" Class 6 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Roku TV, particularly its picture quality, price, and Roku operating system. Many customers rave about the superb 4K HDR picture quality and find that it offers great value for the price. The Roku OS is also widely praised for its user-friendly interface and rich HDR content. However, there are some concerns about the remote control's quality and the TV's durability, with a few customers reporting issues such as vertical banding and a short lifespan.

The picture isn’t great as it has trouble displaying football games. My older 55” Vizio is better than this TV. I spent considerable time adjusting the settings. I should have spent more money for a better quality screen.

      Hi Lloyd,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. There are options available to adjust the picture settings to better fit your personal preference. You can access the Options menu on the TV by pressing the asterisk (*) button on your remote while watching content. Additionally, you can access expert picture settings by downloading the free Roku mobile app on a smartphone or tablet. The Roku mobile app works as a remote and allows you to access additional features like voice search, private listening, advanced picture settings, and more. If you need any further assistance, please reach out to us at [email protected] with your contact information and a description of what you need help with. Enjoy!

No better deal out there if you want 4K and quality HDR, plus the Roku interface is the best out there.

Replacing a higher-end TV that broke on me. My only real complaint is HDR/Dolby Vision settings are a bit funky to deal with, you have to manually set it per input and they settings do not appear until HDR/Dolby Vision content is displayed on the device. I would prefer to just set the settings per input during my setup and not have to mess with the display when attempting to display HDR/Dolby Vision content.

I have been scrutinizing this tv since the P607 came out in 2017. I finally bought the 65" TCL 2018 model. My previous TV was a 65" $5'000 Sony XBR65900A, which died after 3.5 years of use. I am very pleased with this TCL TV. Set up was flawless and really easy. The picture quality is very good (not excellent). The TV quickly picked up the 5g network from the router, and even when streaming 4k content there is no buffering. I have a Comcast internet connection. These TCL tvs all have minor vignetting in the corners. This is a faint black shadow in all 4 corners. This is normal, especially on budget tvs. Now that you know this, do not panic when you first set the tv up and see a small black shadow in all 4 corners, especially on a white background, you will see it! The screen uniformity of my particular tv is good. I do not see any "dirty screen effect" or “vertical banding”. The screen uniformity is good (not excellent). Whites and grey need improvement. The blacks on this tv are very good, however nowadays most tvs have greatly improved blacks. It’s the whites and grays the tv manufacturers need to work on next. I do see some flicker in fast moving scenes, but it's acceptable. If you do watch a lot of fast moving sports you may want to consider a higher refresh rate panel. The tv has one major Achilles heel, and that is the up scaling. It does not up scale as well as a more expensive tvs. However if you have comcast cable, do yourself a favor and get their new 4K cable box. It upscales better than their regular cable boxes. One area where this TV excels is HDR and Dolby Vision. There are many shows on Netflix, Amazon prime, Vudu you can watch in UHD. YouTube also has a whole bunch of 4k HDR videos you can play. HDR and Dolby Vision is a game changer. It's pure eye candy, and leaves you craving for more. This tv has good color (they pop), however some of the colors are not accurate. Although this is an incredible TV for gaming, It could not be used as a computer monitor in photo shop for color correction for example. Even after calibration the colors could be better. One example of what I am saying is that once you watch this tv in “warm” mode (as most people suggest) the Red colors suddenly turn a tad orange instead of being true red. Best buy sells this tv with an inferior Roku remote. If you want a voice activated remote you will have to buy it for $29 directly from Roku. This remote is infra-red and really cheap. Again, this reflects badly on Best buy and not the TCL brand. If you own an older TV (plasma or LCD) from a few years ago, this TV will blow the older tv's away. It's MUCH better. I have mainly owned Sony, Sharp Samsung, and no matter how much you paid for a high -end tv a few years ago, this TV will devour their picture quality. The tv was delivered by Best buy, however I know for a fact that the tv was not new, because it did not have any removable sticky tape all over it. When they delivered it, I asked the delivery people to check for a cracked screen or other defects, but they did not speak any English and left in a hurry. I have been trying to call best buy to ask them about the missing tape, but when it comes to returning things they do not answer the phone very quickly. In fact, I tried calling their number various times and a call center in the Philippines answers, and as soon as I mention a return I am left hanging on the phone. Another point, I do not appreciate about Best Buy’s showroom layout, is the way these TCL 6 series are hidden away in some remote area of the store. This TV is good enough to deserve a hidden corner in the Magnolia center. I strongly believe that both TCL and Vizio (for that matter) brands will be major disruptors of the TV industry for years to come. Lastly, if any of you have a Sony sound bar and wondering if they are compatible with the TCL tv, Yes they do. Simply use HDMI 3 ARC.
