Bad zone

Made a theater room for this TV, moved electrical, internet and put up wall mount with surround sound built in. Put up tv powered it on and had a burned out zone in the middle of tv. Thanks for it being within 14 days. Took it back and best buy upgraded me.

Failed at 18 Months

Then, after 18 months, it began to give me an overheating error. Every time I view 4K content, the tv now overheats. This happens using the internal Roku or a Fire TV box connected via HDMI. I did a factory reset, and the tv overheated during the setup process. I payed $1040 or this 18 months ago and am now out of the warranty. That's unacceptable.

Took it back

Do not buy - junk

It did work fine until . . . it would not turn on. Blank screen. Sound. If we unplug it and plug it in it will work, but that is definitely not what I was expecting when I bought this TV. My last tv lasted for over 12 years, no problem. I contacted customer support. They said the warranty was for a year. They could not even offer advice about what the problem was. After looking online, I realized that many others have this problem. Tried a cheaper brand. Never again. Stick with the established companies.

Lucky if you get 2 years out of this

I took great care of it, even have the plastic film still on the back panels. Kept it plugged into a surge protector, and dusted it regularly. This 'TV' completely died in 1.6 years. No signs of issues - just stopped working. None of the trouble shooting found online helped, and TCL customer service was even worse. Very disappointed in this purchase. Complete waste of money, I will be sure to never purchase another TCL again.

Great picture and specs!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Knocking off one point because my first 65r615 that showed up had a vertical band on the right side that was very distracting on brighter background images. Decided to give it 1 exchange and pray. I had read there was some uniformity issues with this model in previous reviews here and elsewhere. I did take strike 1 like I said so it cant get a 5 star because of having to exchange within 1 day of owning. All that said. The 2nd TV is flawless and has no banding. Other reviewers state seeing shadowing or dirty like look. I did not witness that in my first exchanged one or the 2nd one I have now which is amazing! I'm glad i gave this glowing sub $1000 4K HDR 65 inch a patient second try. Best buy guys were great and hit their windows on both deliveries. I did the setup on the 2nd one and of course the first thing I'm going to do Is open up a 4k light background and look for banding! Was excited to see none! Next thing is I setup the calibration settings copying RTINGs.com and their settings for this model seem to work well! Setup of the roku was easy and took maybe 30 minutes to update everything and get it basically running everything I want it too. Sports are amazing! No blues, nothing but crisp colors and awesome viewing! My ps4 pro and RDR2 (where I REALLY noticed the banding on the exchanged TV and prompted me to do that exchange) look amazing and even my wife who doesnt comment about this type of stuff is impressed with the colors and stuff it can do! We love using YouTube with chromecast and watching 4k videos around the world, just stunning images! If you get a good screen, this TV rivals all the $1600-2500 brand names in the same category and quality! Definitely worth it! But be patient if you get a banding screen. Hopefully TCLs QC is getting better as the models are being made.

Stopped working after 5 months

It didn't have all the bells and whistles, but that was expected. It had a little bit of vignetting in the corners. The TV no longer turns on after just 5 months. I'm currently in the process of dealing with TCL about the warranty. Which is only a 6 month warranty. I feel like I got really lucky that the TV broke right before that. I feel bad for anybody that has had this happen right after the warranty expired.

If you can ignore picture quality, it's for you

Watching sports was unbearable especially football, golf, and hockey. It's impossible to ignore the inconsistencies of this tv and I will be returning it. I know there is a panel lottery, but I guess I lost it, big time. If you ever want to see the mess that is this tv just look up uniformity tests on YouTube. Pretty disappointed given the hype of this budget tv.

Died after 10 months

No picture, sound or any response. The light at the bottom isn’t on and I get nothing. So far customer service has been a joke, you are constantly disconnected and have to repeat your problem and go through the same set of “trouble shooting” tips. They said they would get back to me in 24 hours but so far nothing. The TV is dead, replace it or give me my money back. $800 for less than 10 months is a joke.

Worked great for 13 months

I just had a repairman come out that said that the TV had dead LEDs and that TCL doesn't sell replacements LEDs for screens so there is nothing he could do. I didn't purchase a Geek Squad service plan, but luckily AMEX said I can file an extended warranty claim since I used their card to purchase the TV. I will not buy TCL again. The TV repairman said to stick to LG or Samsung.

Blown away!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I consider TCL as a lesser known budget TV brand, and while this TV has been highly anticipated after its appearance at CES, I've attempted to keep my expectations in check.. It has surpassed my expectations by a mile.. Here's what I have loved... Pros 1. Free shipping from best buy arrived on time, delivered all the way into my living room, and the box was in nearly perfect condition (I'm a big fan of amazon, but I've grown used to a decent amount of dings and dents on the boxes from shipping) 2. The local dimming/contrast control zones do an exceptional job at achieving dark inky blacks, which in turn makes darker scenes in games and movies look amazing, local dimming when done right like this TV does, is not a gimmick, it makes a huge difference. I really can't emphasize this enough. 3. Even my old non 4K and non HDR (original Xbox One) content looks so much better on this TV. The high quality up-scaling and increased contrast make literally everything look better. Cons: There have been a few complaints from others who have received units with really bad banding or waffle effect on their screens (maybe a QA issue, or their shipping wasn't as gentle as mine), I don't have these issues at all, but I do notice a slight vignetting on all white loading screens in the very corners... not noticeable on most content and doesn't impact my experience, but worth mentioning for the pickiest of picky people. Final Thoughts: I highly highly recommend this TV. I would buy it again in a heart beat, even knowing that there may be a risk of getting a "lemon", The top-notch shipping care alleviates some of that concern for me, and even if I had to deal with getting a replacement through TCL or Best Buy, it would still be worth the wait 10 times over, this TV is that good.

Screen Flicker

I returned the TV and got the same model (plus 5 year warranty). 6 months later, the 2nd TV is starting to display the same issue. This product contains faulty parts and will not stand the test of time. Best of luck to those who didn't get the warranty on this one.

Lip Sync doesn't work
